When was a freshman, went to Mega Fair. Miami encourages people to go and just see if there are different student clubs and organizations that might interest them. And there were so many things I’d never heard of. And it was just amazing to see all these different people gathering in one space to do what they loved.

Miami's liberal arts curriculum has forced me to step outside my comfort zone and has led me to take classes that I never thought would be taking. However, these same classes have led me to pursue new and exciting opportunities that never thought were possible.
Where other universities reserve research opportunities for graduate-level students only, Miami supports and encourages undergraduates as they engage in in-depth research alongside professors and peers.
Our specialized study abroad programs allow students to fully immerse themselves in a new culture — and still graduate on time.

BEING AN HONORS STUDENT IS MORE THAN A PRESTIGIOUS TITLE. It’s having unparalleled opportunities to take a deeper dive into research alongside world-class faculty and other high achievers, traveling the globe to put theory into practice, and developing new knowledge that can change the world. First-year students can apply for the Honors College by indicating their interest on their admission application. For priority consideration, complete your application by Dec. 1.
First-year students in the Honors College live with an Honors roommate in an Honors residential hall on Miami’s Western Campus. This residential requirement provides Honors students with the opportunity to develop lifelong friendships and immerse themselves in academic and social experiences.
The elite Presidential Fellows Program offers a four-year renewable scholarship covering tuition, fees, housing, and food for up to 20 of the brightest scholars and leaders in the Honors College. In addition, Presidential Fellows receive a $5,000 academic enrichment stipend.
A $1,000-$2,000 award renewable annually for four years, the Prodesse Scholarship is awarded to top Honors College students.
Scholarships are granted to high-achieving admitted students based on their high school GPA (see Page 23 for details).
“Honors Abroad” opportunities are primarily based in Luxembourg, England, and Belize, allowing students to broaden their knowledge and advance the common good while gaining valuable global perspectives.

“I had no clue Miami was a thing because I’m from Maryland. The soccer coaches reached out to me, and my parents said, ‘Just go on a visit — you never know.’ When I came on campus, I thought, ‘Wow, this place is beautiful.’ It just had a different feel, since I’m from the city. I stepped on campus and got to meet people and professors. This feels like home.”
