HIGH COUNTRY; OR THE TRIP OF BROKEN DREAMS (DECEMBER 2017) PART TWO by Dorothy Greiveson and Martin Foot Peter and Jean spent the day relaxing and drying out the foot well of their Subaru, which had taken on water during the river crossings. For the rest, Jamie proposed a day trip to Blue Rag Track.

But first, there was a problem - Dave's alternator wasn't working. Eventually, after much testing with multimeters, he swapped his battery with Jessica's. Once ready, the group (consisting of Jamie with Martin as passenger, Stephen from Qld, David with Shannon and the boys, and Jessica) headed off in the direction of Talbotville, then turning left up Brewery Creek Road. The views were spectacular from the narrow track.

Eventually the group turned up South Basalt Knob Track and followed this until arriving at the Knob itself on the corner with Ritchie Road, complete with a red railway carriage (as you expect to see commonly in those parts). This was the lunch stop.
