In 1959, MGC proudly hosted the 41st PGA Championship providing a perfect bookend to the decade which started with the 50th US Amateur.
The routing map on the previous page shows the course played as a par 70 as holes 1 and 12 were converted to par 4’s. The total layout was at 6,850 yards. Also note the interesting bunker positioning throughout the golf course where many of the Donald Ross bunkers were still in play.
