ot a naturally monogamous concept, minimalism has enjoyed relationships with a number of creative genres, from art through to design and architecture. While time has worked its magic on minimalism, introducing new colours, patterns and penchants for the aesthetic, the virtues have remained the same - clean, simple lines; spacious and light rooms; simplicity of design and decoration. The antithesis of clutter! The minimalist home is kind to the eye and to the bank balance, focusing on what is fundamental and functional. If you are keen to experiment, the governing principal you should have in mind when embarking on the interior design journey, is that less truly is more. If you purchase statement pieces for your space, let the furniture or accents accompanying these pieces take more of a backseat. You won’t have a successful minimalist style space if you have too many star players competing for the limelight. Let this minimalism themed mood board inspire your palette – from colours and fabrics to furniture lines.
