APPLICATION DETAILS

General requirements

BACHELOR’S PROGRAMS

• Completed high school studies

• GPA: overall above 50%

• Intermediate command of English (equivalent to IELTS 5.5+ or TOEFL 69+ level, but no certificate required)

• Participating in online interview

MASTER’S PROGRAMS

• Bachelor’s degree in any related field

• GPA: overall above 50%

• Upper-intermediate command of English (equivalent to IELTS 6.0+ or TOEFL 79+ level, but no certificate required)

• Participating in online interview

Specific requirements

• BSc applicants: online mathematics test based on their overall GPA

• International Relations BA applicants: extra questions regarding current global issues during the interview

• Art program applicants: portfolio

• Tourism and Management MSc and Management and Leadership MSc applicants: 60 credits recognized from previous studies

• MBA applicants: CV, employment certificate* and motivation letter

• Art program applicants: portfolio

The final admission decision will be made based on the submitted application documents and performance on the online admission interview.

*Proof of employment at a company in a professional or managerial position – for applicants with Bachelor’s degree: at least 3 years; for applicants with Master’s degree: at least 2 years.

**For students applying from Bangladesh, Syria, Yemen, Ethiopia, Nigeria, there is a 200 EUR registration fee (non-refundable) to pay upon application before we proceed with the documents check.

***Price of Medicover’s health insurance, which is a partner of our university. Students are eligible to arrange a different health insurance on their own. Applicants older than 37 years of age must arrange their own health insurance.

Please note that the tuition fee may increase annually corresponding to the inflation rate published by the Hungarian National Bank.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

ABOUT REQUIREMENTS

Please be informed that the Admission Team may overwrite the provided certificates according to the online interview performance. During the interview, applicants need to prove their language skills and the admission committee will make their admission decision based on this. Applicants who do not meet the minimum language requirements might be offered to start their studies with a one- or two-semester-long English Language Preparatory Program.

BUSINESS AND TOURISM BSC

APPLICATIONS

For Business and Tourism BSc program applicants, the interview contains a 30-minute-long mathematics test as well (more infomration will be provided later). These applicants need to take a mathematics test based on their overall GPA.

MASTER’S APPLICATIONS

For Tourism and Management MSc and Management and Leadership MSc applicants, at least 60 credits must be recognized from previous studies in specific fields, out of which at least 30 must be completed at the time of admission. For our other master’s applicants, at least 30 credits must be recognized, out of which at least 30 must be completed at the time of admission. Applicants must obtain the missing credits parallel to their master’s studies, latest within two semesters. A fee applies to the completion of the missing credits. In case the applicant possesses less than 30 credits at the time of admission, they can join our 1-semester Pre-Master program to collect the credits missing before starting the Master’s program. In the case of Art master’s programs, there is no Pre-Master program; in the case of missing credits, the student must complete equalizing bachelor’s subjects during their master’s program.

MBA APPLICATIONS

Applicants of the MBA program need to submit the following documents:

1. Motivation letter

2. Professional CV (with details of previous roles and responsibilities)

3. Employment certificate

• Sibling discount: If you and your sibling are studying at METU, you can both receive 5% discount on your tuition fees for the entire duration of your studies!

• METU forever: Are you a METU graduate? Enroll in a METU master’s program and receive 10% discount on your tuition fee on your first year of study!

• Webinar discount: If you’re applying through a local educational consultant/agent and you participated in an online webinar organized by your educational consultant, you will be eligible for a 10% discount on your first semester’s tuition fee if you apply to METU within 2 weeks after the webinar was held.
