Krichels is a writer and editor who has been covering architecture, design, and urbanism for more than a decade. Her writing has been published in Architectural Record, the Financial Times, Interior Design, MOLD, and Designers & Books. She works with architecture firms and organizations on projects including books, educational events, and research, and is managing editor for AIA New York’s Oculus magazine. For this issue, Krichels penned a feature on Ge Hekai Hall at Wenzhou-Kean University (p. 138).

Volner has contributed articles on architecture and design to The Wall Street Journal, The New Yorker, Harper’s, and The New Republic, among other publications, and is a contributing editor at Architect and Architecture Today (U.K.). He is the author of several books and monographs, and most recently contributed to Jorge Pardo: Public Projects and Commissions, 1996–2018 (Petzel, 2021). Volner’s feature “Creative Schools for Creative Learning” (p. 128) highlights designers’ focus on play and place in early-learning spaces.

Wachs is a New York–based writer, editor, and urban planner who covers new buildings, old buildings, cities, and climate change. She has written for Curbed, Azure, and The Architect’s Newspaper, among others. She’s also currently researching community-based flood resilience planning in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Wachs contributed to this year’s Future100 coverage, exploring the students’ preoccupation with design for healing and memory (p. 96).
