The administration, faculty and staff of Mercy McAuley sincerely appreciate the group of young women and their families who in the spring/summer of 2018 took a chance on Mercy McAuley— a school that was created in the same spirit that inspired Catherine McAuley to establish the first House of Mercy in Dublin, Ireland more than 200 years ago. In 2018, Mercy McAuley was a new school with a new curriculum, schedule, uniform, mascot, and colors. It was a school whose alma mater and fight song needed to be written, a class ring had to be designed and all new traditions needed to be established. These young women are the Class of 2022, the first graduating class of Mercy McAuley that completed all four years at the new school.

The recent 2021-22 academic year was filled with accomplishments and exciting happenings in all aspects of the school. Academically, two Mercy McAuley students were named National Merit Finalists, and our Latin students performed well on the National Latin Exam, with one student earning a perfect score. And our Women Lead Honors Program students participated in many off-site experiential learning field trips which had been put on hold following the pandemic. Members of our theater, music and visual arts programs were acknowledged for their accomplishments. The spring musical “Anastasia the Musical,” was nominated for 15 Cappie Awards, and our Vocal Ensemble was awarded First Place with Superior Rating for their performance at Dollywood.

Our students have also had success on the field, court, lanes, track and in the pool. While our softball Wolves led the way as district champs, numerous other individual athletes had personal bests, and various athletic teams had victories in post-season play.

Also, during 2021-22, we continued to make small improvements to the Mercy McAuley campus. We opened a White Oak Coffee Shop location in our cafeteria, which was a big hit with our students and employees. On Mercy Day, the seniors planted orange tulip bulbs in the front gardens as part of their acts of service. Our dedicated Parent Pack spearheaded the effort to create a park-like picnic area in the side front lawn area, and they began

working on cleaning up the adjacent outdoor Land Lab. The Plant and Grounds Committee of the Board initiated a Facilities Master Plan Study to look at the long-term needs of the entire campus.

Mercy McAuley engaged the Institute of School and Parish Development in the exploration, discovery, and feasibility of a Capital Campaign. We are extremely grateful to the students, parents, employees, alumnae, community members, and donors that took the time to participate in the information gathering meetings and surveys. We are positioned to kick off the campaign in 2023.

All these achievements are made possible by the engagement and support of you—our alumnae and benefactors. We are thankful for your continued and steadfast support. Together we will continue to develop young Women of Mercy who display educational courage, are compelled by mercy, inspired by faith, poised to be principled leaders and are voices for dignity and respect.

Endowed Scholarships

Mercy McAuley has a growing number of endowed scholarships, which are permanent scholarships funded through the investment income they generate. These scholarships were donated over the last 20 years at our legacy schools and now at Mercy McAuley. Donors established each scholarship with gifts of $25,000 or more and the scholarships are open to receive additional funding.
