First clip since acquisition

Hidden panel mounting systems company, Fastmount, has launched a new male clip in its Low Profile Range. The LP-SM8H is designed for use with 9-16mm thick plywood and MDF panels, or aluminium honeycomb panels and has a pull-out load of 10kg. The mounting has been designed with simple offsite panel fabrication and ease of installation in mind. It has three holes in the base for a screw fixing, and a short head to reduce the likelihood of clip damage in transit. The clip is suitable for interior panel applications where there is a requirement for no visible fixings, and minimal gap between panel and substrate. The LP-SM8H is the first product to be launched since Fastmount was acquired by Nautical Group Holdings. “Fastmount has always kept its ear close to the ground when it comes for demand for new product, and we want to continue to do so. 2022 will be a big year for product development for the company and the LPSM8H is just the beginning,” explained Marc Michel, NGH CEO.

30% LIGHTER ROOF SYSTEM

Makefast has added three new products to its line-up for 2022. Despite the uncertainty of the last two years, the company has continued to design and develop products to compliment its existing range of marine systems. The new products are a Louvred Roof, a Privacy Blind and a Sliding Console Mechanism, each allowing a boat owner to set the mood on board and to create flexible spaces which can be either cosy and intimate or filled with light and air. All of the products can be tailored to suit different applications and are manufactured using

marine grade 316L stainless steel and self-lubricating composite components to ensure smooth operation in potentially harsh environments. The Louvred Roof is around 30% lighter than previous systems. It features tilting louvres that retract along a stainless-steel track that can match the profile of a boat and allows the user a choice of shade and ventilation styles. The Blind creates instant privacy and shade as required. It has been developed to be simple to

install and it can also be retrofitted. The Sliding Console Mechanism is a concealed system based on Makefast’s sunroof technology and allows previously fixed seats, furniture and consoles to be moved at the touch of a button. “We’ve seen excellent growth throughout 2021” said Makefast CEO Richard Jones. “This year – 2022 we will develop at least two new products and similar for the following year alongside an expansion of our manufacturing and fabrication capacity.” The company is in the process of constructing an

additional 1300sqm close to its existing facility. The new unit will house Makefast’s subsidiary CMD, allowing for all existing machining facilities to be located in one area which in turn will release 400sqm of space for the marine assembly processes. “Makefast is continuously looking to improve our inhouse capabilities,” added Richard. “As we progress we see the need to pull in new skills and knowledge, currently we are recruiting for seven roles.” He added: “2022 is shaping up to be another excellent year for the company.”

NEW ULTRA-MODERN MARINE HOB The latest addition to the GN Espace range is the HE102 three-zone induction hob, an ultramodern marine hob with touch controls. The HE102 is suitable for integrating into a streamlined galley, especially for river cruisers and barges where no searails are necessary to hold pots in place. The HE102 is 50cm wide, compatible with the standard sized marine gas hobs already carried on many inland vessels, meaning it can be retrofitted with almost no reworking of existing worktops.

The three induction zones can be adapted by bridging two into one

‘octa’ zone leaving a further 145mm diameter zone. Safety features include

residual heat warning, pot detection, and a child lock system. The HE102’s integrated management system is designed for optimum performance while conserving consumption. The hob is designed to be easy to clean and has a cooking timer for each zone. It can be fitted together with GN Espace’s compact built-in oven. Both consume low power, making them suitable for vessels used in areas where shore power is limited. The hob weighs 7kg.
