Han’s Taekwondo Academy is sending a team of 35 Bakersfield martial artists to the 2009 California State Qualifier on March 28. The athletes range in age from 6 to 22. The team has been working together six days a week in hopes of quali-

Alexandria Carino, 13, is an eighth-grader at Tevis Junior High School. She is an ‘A’ student, a cheerleader, and an avid snowboarder. She is also a 1st-degree black belt at Han’s Taekwondo Academy. She has traveled across the country from Atlanta, Georgia to Oahu, Hawaii to represent Bakersfield as a world-class Taekwondo athlete. She is a state, regional, and national champion. She is one of our competition team mentors. She is very patriotic and hopes to represent the U.S. in International competitions.
