Meldreth Primary School PTA Happy New Year to all. We would like to start by saying that we are thrilled to announce that we hit our target of £20,000 to restore the school pool to its former glory. With some funding secured from the Parish Council, we were finally sufficiently confident to engage the builders to start work. Work should begin in January weather permitting, and this should ensure the children will be back in the pool this summer. What a successful year 2021 was for the PTA. Despite significant hurdles we managed to attract lots of enthusiasm and support for our main cause - saving the school pool. We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported our cause. With over £4000 raised by our supportive community on Crowdfunder, over £4000 from a massively successful Zumbathon, over £6000 secured in local grants, plus the use of some of the PTA reserve funds we slowly got close to our target. Finally we owe a huge thanks to Lesley Farbridge and all our local crafters for turning out and making the November Christmas Market a roaring success. In total, we raised over £700 from that event taking us over the final score line. We do, however, still have some funds for the swimming pool to come. And we are thrilled to have been chosen for the Asda Cambridge green tokens online vote. Looking ahead, we can see that this new year will bring some new targets for the PTA. Keep an eye out for details of our bingo bonanza. Perhaps details of our spring planters may take your fancy.
