GESCHICHTE Die Geschichte des „Billroth“ geht auf den berühmten Chirurgen Theodor Billroth (18291894) zurück. Er zählte über lange Jahre zu den treuesten Sommergästen St. Gilgens und ließ im 19. Jahrhundert die Villa „Billroth“ errichten. Im Laufe der Jahre wurde das „Billroth“ unter Bedacht der Erhaltung seines ursprünglichen Charmes erweitert und renoviert.
HISTORY The history of the Billroth goes back to the famous surgeon Theodor Billroth (1829-1894). He used to rank among the most loyal summer guests of St. Gilgen for many years, and built the villa „Billroth“ in the 19th century. Over of the years, the „Billroth“ was expanded and renovated while maintaining its original charm.

Und für alle, die im Urlaub gerne hoch hinaus wollen, bieten das „Zwölferhorn“ oder der „Schafberg“ attraktive Ausflugsziele. Beide sind sowohl mit Wanderschuhen als auch via Seilbahn bzw. Zahnradbahn erreichbar.

Both can be reached with hiking boots as well as via cableway and/or cogwheel railway.
