Hiking Tips

1. Ensure you are dressed properly with adequate footwear.

2. Research the hike ahead of time and know its difficulty level. Check out the Lake George Land Conservancy (p.25) for information about several preserves around the Lake George watershed.

3. Look for markers and stay on the trail.

4. Carry in, carry out! Do not leave anything behind, including food waste such as apple cores or banana peels.

5. Leave what you find. Memories and photos are all you should take home with you.

6. Do not stack rocks.

7. Consider hiring a local guide like Hike with Jackson (p.24 )
