Dear Team,

A Message from the Executive Office

As we turn the calendar on a new year, I want to start by thanking each and every one of you for your hard work and dedication. Medline does not succeed without all of us working together toward our shared goals.

The last few months of the year were a period of transition for Medline as we saw a change in leadership after more than 26 years. I remain honored, excited and optimistic about our future. The teams we have in place across the organization are well positioned to do great things. Together, we are building on our foundation of success while shaping the future of Medline.

This issue of Medlines takes you a little further into the leadership transition and shares highlights of our incredible journey as an organization. It also dives deeper into some of the programming that helps us partner with our customers in ways that differentiate us from our competitors.

As we build upon past successes in the new year and continue to take on new challenges, I encourage you all to keep doing what you do best— serving our customers in the nimble and agile manner they have come to expect.

Thank you for all you do.

“The teams we have in place across the organization are well positioned to do great things.”

Get to know our

After more than 26 years of leadership, Charlie Mills, Andy Mills and Jim Abrams announced they would be retiring from their roles and would continue to serve the company on its Board of Directors. Culminating a five-year succession planning process, Medline named long-term company executives Jim Boyle as Chief Executive Officer, and Jim Pigott as President and Chief Operating Officer. The leadership transition took effect in October 2023.

Jim Boyle, Chief Executive Officer

"I am incredibly honored by this opportunity. I want to express my gratitude to the Mills family for their years of leadership and for the confidence placed in me to guide this organization forward,” said Jim Boyle. “Medline has always been a company that operates in a nimble and agile manner, doing whatever is best for our customers and our employees, and I look forward to ensuring we continue to do so for years to come.”

Jim Boyle joined Medline in 1996 as a sales representative in San Antonio, Texas. Since then, he has held roles as a Sales Trainer, Senior Account Manager, Division Vice President, Senior Vice President, and most recently, Executive Vice President of our North American Sales team. In the role since 2018, Jim led our sales team in supporting a customer base of over 5,000 healthcare providers across the continuum of care and overseeing more than $21 billion in annual sales.

Jim was responsible for the strategic direction and execution of the commercial functions across all healthcare segments and the Marketing, Operations, and Logistics departments. In addition, he oversaw Medline’s distributed products business and led the customer support infrastructure, meeting the unique challenges of Medline’s customer base and its patient communities.

In blending Medline’s high-performance culture and customer-centric approach with their extensive understanding of the industry and our business, Jim Boyle and Jim Pigott are perfectly suited to continue to deliver the growth and innovation that have made Medline the healthcare leader we are today.

Jim Pigott, President and Chief Operating Officer

“I am proud of all that Medline and the Mills family have accomplished through the years for our customers, the healthcare industry, and especially in cultivating our winning company culture," said Jim Pigott. "I am grateful for this opportunity, and as we continue to find solutions to healthcare’s evolving challenges, I remain committed to doing so while preserving and building upon our company heritage.”

Jim Pigott started at Medline in 1992 as a Sales Representative and has held various leadership roles, including Product Manager, Division President and Group President, before being named Executive Vice President.

Over the years, Jim was involved in the company’s expansion into several product segments, including surgical, laboratory, diagnostic, and cardiology, as well as the growth of its domestic manufacturing footprint. He also spearheaded Medline’s global sourcing partnerships strategy while serving as President of Medline Asia from 2006 to 2009. While Jim was EVP, he oversaw Medline’s 27 product divisions, composed of more than 20 manufacturing sites and 14,000 employees. In addition, he led Medline’s global sourcing and inventory management organizations.

WORK
PROGRAMS OF

Here, we’re shining the spotlight on one program within each category:

Safety

Build a Zero Loss Culture

In Medline Operations, safety is a value and we take pride in providing a safe work environment for all of our team members. One of the programs of work focused safety is building a “Zero Loss Culture” in which we aim to create a safe work-environment for our team members and create a culture where zero injuries is possible. There have been

several initiatives through this program of work, such as creating an Operations Safety Commitment that all levels of the organization made together. Operations also deployed a Summer

and Winter Playbook across all locations with a goal of impacting a long-standing trend of increased injuries during the summer months. All locations were successful in deploying the actions outlined in the playbooks. This was reflected in an 18% reduction in injuries between 2022 and 2023. Locations continue to engage team members in safety initiatives and conversations to help meet our mission of making zero possible.

Quality

Reduce Top 3 Operational Service Issues

One of the programs within our Quality focus is Scan Picking. A cross-functional team at the C40 Massachusetts Distribution Center (DC) is piloting scanning case barcodes during the full case picking process in an effort to improve accuracy and reduce wrong items sent to our customers The process involves people from many different areas of the company working together, including Product Management, Vendor Operations, Engineering, DC Operations, Operational Excellence, Inventory Control, Data Synch, and Customer Service.

Thus far, through October 2023, the team has achieved a 17% improved pick accuracy over

the prior year. They are thrilled with the results and are excited about the opportunity to share this process with other Medline Distribution Centers.

Service Optimize Work Release

In an effort to get the right work done at the right time, the Operations teams have been collaborating to build effective outbound dock plans. The first steps were building the reporting tools to get the right data to the team to make informed decisions. Each site then goes through the collaborative process of mapping out exactly when each truck needs to leave and what door it needs to leave from, by placing magnets on a whiteboard that correspond to work release, picking, and loading at the exact dock door and time. This means our teams are able to visually plot the flow of the warehouse processes for the entire building and then display this so everyone is working together on the same plan.

Cost Optimize Discretionary Spend

With varying types of expenditures across the company’s massive distribution network, Operations is focusing on leveraging the full scope of

Winter 2024 13

Medline’s buying power to drive savings. Partnering with Indirect Procurement, the team was able to create structure around how we spend and conduct competitive bids.

One example is our corrugate bidding process, in which purchases were aggregated into a singular, massive bid—a first for the company at this scale. Various bidding efforts across corrugate, packaging supplies, janitorial and other building services generated savings of more than $3.5M.

Pallet purchases account for the largest win, saving more than $6.5M network-wide in 2023. The program ended 2023 with nearly $12M of savings achieved for Operations.

Optimizing discretionary spend has been impactful not only by

improving our bottom line, but also by providing a framework for large purchases so the team can focus their efforts on serving our customers.

People

Develop Our People

Medline's success depends on hiring and retaining the very best people. Our vision is to be an employer of choice— a company that people want to work for, and one that fosters a superior employee experience. Throughout 2023, the team developed and conducted a series of e-learning training modules and virtual workshops for approximately 530 front line supervisors across the Operations and Manufacturing organizations. Additionally, a Leadership Essentials training was provided for directors and

Medline Hudson RCI Mexico begins operations

After approximately 30 months of planning, Medline Hudson RCI Mexico officially initiated its operations in late 2023. Located right next to Medline Teleflex, in the industrial park Finsa, in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, it consists of a 205,000 sq. ft. building, a class 8 Clean Room, and most importantly, more than 1,000 employees joining our team.

Hudson will provide its services to Division 35—Respiratory, working on plastic molding and extrusion,

as well as product assembly. Within their catalog, they will handle non-invasive respiratory products such as masks, cannulas, circuits, nebulizers, and spirometers for rehabilitation, among others.

Leading up to the opening of the facility, the team worked on 35 different projects simultaneously, pertaining to quality, fiscal and regulatory systems, environmental compliance and industrial safety. In addition, Medline Hudson will be

a Manager Essentials training for managers focused on building leadership skills. To continue to promote positive employee relations and ensure we are proactively seeking input directly from employees, a team has been visiting our Operations DCs to gather comprehensive employee feedback, sharing results and action plans with the respective leadership teams.

In 2024, Operational Excellence and Learning & Development are partnering to redesign and develop a new structure for Supervisor Onboarding to ensure these team members are set up for success when moving into their new roles. The team is looking forward to continued collaboration across Operations to further strengthen our employee experience.

You may have heard of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, or the National Baseball Hall of Fame, but you may be surprised to learn that several Medline Manufacturing sites have their own Halls of Fame to recognize the contributions of dedicated employees.

This new location will impact all of our customers by contributing to customer service, quality and cost improvements and will directly benefit eight of our branches, shortening the supply chain.

Products from this facility will reach across the world, from Mexico City, to Germany, South Korea, Panama and the US. We are proud to welcome our new Medline teammates!

At SPT Waukegan, Northpoint Services (NPS), and Dynacor Manufacturing, a Hall of Fame stands to acknowledge employees celebrating milestone anniversaries and honor retiring employees. Displayed on one side of the hall are the names of employees who have celebrated Medline anniversaries, beginning with the first significant milestone of one year, continuing at 5-year increments up to 40 years of service. Along the other side of the hall are “jersey” banners adorned with the names and years of service of retiring employees.

This initiative began as a way to recognize the commitment and contributions of employees, many of whom have been with the company for decades. With a number of employees preparing for retirement in the coming years, this was a great opportunity to acknowledge them and honor their many years of service to Medline.

Between April and September 2023, six employees retired from SPT Waukegan and NPS, each after more than 20 years of working at Medline. During a celebratory retirement gathering with their teammates and friends, they were presented with the banners bearing their names. One of the honorees, 25-year employee María Avila, Assembler II, shared, “I’m forever grateful to Medline for all they have done for me. This is a great way for you to remember me.”

Drivers for MedTrans—Medline’s transportation fleet—were recently honored for their skills and safety after successfully competing in the first MedTrans National Rodeo at our distribution center in Grayslake, Illinois.

The competition featured recent regional competition winners from California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, New York and Texas. During the national event, more than 200 family members, friends and colleagues cheered on the competing drivers as they tested a broad range of driving and safety skills. The timed assessments during the national event included backing up over 50 feet, driving forward and backward around strategically placed cones, and backing up to a loading dock.

“It’s important to promote safety. The rodeo shows our customers that we’re really trying to take care of them, take care of our loads, and take care of the public.”

—Arthur “AP” Porn, MedTrans driver, and first place winner in the Tractor-Trailer category

There were six winners in two categories. In the Parcel and Straight Truck category, Luis Ignacio Becerra Leal of Katy, Texas, took first place; Samuel Garcia of Modesto, California, second place; and Ivan Arroyo of Chicago, third place. In the Tractor-Trailer category, Arthur “AP” Porn of Hemet, California, took first place honors; Troy White of McDonough, Georgia, second place; and Brad Willard of Wadsworth, Illinois, third place.

“It’s important to promote safety,” said Porn, who has been driving a truck for 32 years. “The rodeo shows our customers that we’re really trying to take care of them, take care of our loads, and take care of the public. I’ve always liked driving a truck at Medline. We know we are doing something to help people in need.”

Luis Ignacio Becerra Leal, who won first place for parcel van/straight truck driving, shares, "At the distribution center in Katy, they told me, 'You have to bring back the prize!' I'm happy to represent (Katy) and happy that Medline gave me this opportunity." Leal has been driving a truck for 18 years and joined Medline in 2022. He adds, "I love my job, and I would like anyone who comes to work at Medline to feel like part of the family as I do."

“Our drivers know the important role we play in health services delivery,” says Jeff Brennan, senior vice president of transportation at MedTrans. “In 2023, we travelled over 80 million miles to make nearly 2 million deliveries.”

A Strategic Partnership

Medline and AdventHealth are partnering differently.

Medline and AdventHealth’s multidimensional relationship redefines what a partnership can become.

This partnership blends an extensive national health system's vast capabilities with an industry-leading supplier that creates a resilient and socially responsible supply chain. Together, AdventHealth and Medline developed and will jointly manage a 300,000-square-foot Consolidated Service Center (CSC). Staffed with teammates from both AdventHealth and Medline, this CSC promotes future growth, allowing AdventHealth to own its inventory and distribution strategy.

Significant contributions were made from teams across Medline to further develop this strategic partnership. Peter Saviola, VP of National Field Sales–Supply Chain Optimization at Medline, emphasized, “This partnership opens up the door for multiple opportunities, now and down the road. This is what success looks like—investing in long-term, fully integrated partnerships to maximize Medline’s opportunities.”

Located in Apopka, Florida, with nearly completed construction, the CSC will be operational in early 2024. As this project is the first of its kind, it required an innovative approach from the ground up.

Medline’s real estate team, led by Kate Slattery, VP of Real Estate/ Construction–Operations, rose to the occasion, delivering a creative solution to this unique need. Slattery shares, “With the massive real estate portfolio Medline has built over the last decade, we have honed in our capabilities. We had teams and individuals come to the table with best practices around comprehensive designs and construction methods—covering everything from how the electrical infrastructure was designed, to the wall covering selections and everything in between.”

In a post-COVID reality, construction projects have been plagued with pricing escalations and lead time obstacles. Slattery highlighted that our teams' problem-solving ability, blended with AdventHealth's consistent engagement, were huge factors in delivering the CSC on time and within budget. She added, “By utilizing our strengths around design, bidding, procurement, and

execution, combined with their workplace standards and cultural priorities, I am confident this CSC will make a great addition to the impressive AdventHealth real estate network.”

By leveraging the unique strengths both organizations bring to the table, Saviola added, “There’s an immense value in blending their culture with ours. Being able to share our expertise, and learn theirs, we are representing a true partnership with our customers to help provide the best patient care.”

Brook Houck, DRI (Directly Responsible Individual) for AdventHealth and Medline’s Executive Account Director–Acute Care Sales, echoed the sentiment, “It’s exciting to be part of a unique project like this. The strong, trusted relationship

between Medline and AdventHealth was invaluable in bringing this new model to life.”

Houck continued, “As this was Medline’s first joint-operated CSC, there was no blueprint. Our plans and approaches had to adjust along the way—flexibility was the name of the game.”

We are creating a CSC like no other—leveraging over 30 years of Medline’s distribution center design, engineering, and management expertise. This approach has allowed AdventHealth to align its distribution strategy while creating a structure to prepare for and accommodate future growth. Beyond price and volume, this partnership also expands our Community Impact, Sustainability, and Marketing opportunities.

Boosting sales, strengthening customer relationships, and building Medline’s brand, customer visits contribute to our formula for successful partnerships. Each year, Medline hosts more than 1,500 individual customers at our Northfield, Illinois headquarters to experience the breadth of our offerings first hand.

The

Power of Customer Visits

AAt Medline, we do something that wows our customers that is ingrained in who we are–we treat them like family. Customer Visits are one of the best tools we have to connect with our customers. As Kelley Pillizzi, Senior Manager, Customer Visits & Experience, says, “Each visit allows our customers to experience Medline’s culture and the passion we have for creating solutions.”

This marketing initiative provides a unique opportunity to educate our customers on our capabilities and solutions, Pillizzi adds, “in a way that makes the breadth of Medline’s offerings tangible. When we bring customers onsite, we’re not only building a relationship, we’re solidifying it. We customize each and every experience to address their unique needs in a setting that fosters connecting on a more personal level.”

Medline’s enormous customer base calls for each visit to be completely tailored. They are just as adaptable as the solutions

we provide to best support the needs of our customers. Medline’s Customer Visits team organizes the entire experience and logistics for what is typically a twoday visit to our Northfield headquarters and local manufacturing facilities. Based on the customer’s interests and needs, visitors have the chance to hear from product and solutions experts, and meet with our Sales, Marketing, Executive, and Operations Leadership. In 2023 alone, Medline

“It is rare for any organization to say that they have a sales strategy that is 99% effective. A Medline customer visit is just that. I have participated in dozens of these since I started with Medline. They have resulted in only positive outcomes. Signed agreements with current customers, extensions on existing agreements, and, most importantly, giving the customer the confidence to know that Medline is their best option for increasing efficiencies within their organization from an operational, financial, and clinical level. If you are looking to move past having simply a price discussion, set up a customer visit and bring in the Medline army.”

“In 2023, OhioHealth Senior Supply Chain Leadership visited Medline to better understand who we are as a company. Their visit focused on Supply Chain Optimization & Operations improvement since it was highly important to them. Bringing the customers to Medline allowed them to immerse themselves in our culture and truly get to know our organization. The relationship post-visit has grown exponentially.”

a relationship and share a meal. Senior Director of Customer Experience, Lisa Petrilli, emphasized, “We’ve been doing this for decades. Customers come onsite even before they become prime vendors to help them understand our value, our history, and what we stand for. By getting to know us, and seeing us demonstrate our relentless commitment to their success, customers leave with a newfound appreciation for our industry leadership across distribution, manufacturing, and supply chain expertise.”

Medline’s family-run business roots run deep, and our customers feel it when they join us onsite. Our customers take note of our entrepreneurial philosophy. Pillizzi says, “One of our customers visited a competitor ahead of their visit to Medline. After both experiences, they eagerly chose Medline. They said they felt heard and knew with Medline it would not just be a transaction, but a true partnership.”

Focused on providing outstanding service, our sales reps generate personalized solutions to optimize our customers' clinical and financial goals. By dedicating time to identifying needs and potential challenges, we care for our customers

the same way you care for a loved one—with dedication and persistence, so our customers, in turn, can supply the best patient care.

A customer visit to Medline’s corporate offices is the most effective way to show Medline’s capabilities and allow our guests to experience why Medline is their solutions partner.

Beyond The Chicago Tribune, Becker’s and Forbes, Medline is a proud recipient of additional Employer Awards, including:

• Newsweek: America’s Greatest Workplaces for Diversity 2023

• Newsweek: America’s Greatest Workplaces for Parents and Family 2023

• Newsweek: America’s Greatest Workplaces for Women 2023

• Energage Top Workplace 2023

What makes us a Top Workplace?

(hint: it’s our employees)

Chicago Tribune

Each year, The Chicago Tribune works with market research company Energage to create their annual Top Workplaces list. The Chicago Tribune searches for Chicagoland companies who have a culture of collaboration and a commitment to helping employees advance their careers.

To evaluate a company like Medline, Energage conducts surveys once per year, available to all employees in the area. The key topics cover their general opinion of their employer, leadership, efficiency, communication, work-life balance and more. Medline also provides a detailed report of our benefits and profile information.

The Tribune award is quite familiar at Medline, as through 2023 we can boast 13 years of winning. Medline itself was founded in Chicago, and today employs more than 6,000 people in the surrounding area. It is by all accounts our home, even as we become more and more global, and it is for this reason that the Tribune award carries so much weight for us.

As we tackle the challenges of making healthcare run better, we pride ourselves on giving employees a unique and rewarding work experience. It’s no wonder Medline is routinely named a Top Workplace each year. Take a look at some of this year’s awards.

Forbes Best Employers

In recent years, Forbes’ partnership with market research company Statista has enabled them to publish a variety of specialized Employer Awards. Forbes highlights the top medium and large-size employers spanning all industries across the US by exclusively conducting their research through employees.

Statista does not communicate with employers to compile their list, and instead bases the ratings solely on the data they collect. In 2023, they surveyed 45,000 employees in the US working for companies of 1,000 employees or more to create their list.

Medline was first listed on their Best Large Employers list in 2021, and in the past three consecutive years has moved up in the rankings of top 500 companies. Forbes has since expanded their awards to include Best Employers for Women, Best Employers for New Graduates and Best Employers in Illinois, each of which Medline was awarded in 2022 and 2023.

Becker’s Top 150 Places to Work in Healthcare

Becker’s is one of the broadest Healthcare Media platforms in the US. They publish dozens of articles per day, covering the latest industry updates in the fields of Hospitals, Surgery Centers, Spine, Clinical Leadership, and Dentistry.

Their annual ‘Top 150 Places to Work in Healthcare’ list is an effort to call attention to companies that invest in their employees’ well-being, satisfaction and fulfillment. Their research is based on a company application along with Becker’s own editorial research. Companies are evaluated based on benefits, opportunities for professional development, flexible and inclusive work environments, and community impact.

In 2023, Medline was proud to once again be named to Becker’s list of Top Employers in Healthcare for the seventh time. This award is important to us as it reflects the opinions of those within the healthcare industry. We find both our partners and competitors on this list, making it a very important award for us.

DEI CHAMPIONS IN MANUFACTURING AND OPERATIONS:

A New Partnership

Since 2021, the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Team has launched 7 ERGs with over 3,000 employee members. These voluntary employee-led groups have been successful in raising awareness of cultural nuances and shared experiences, as well as employee engagement and professional development through mentorship. To better engage with Manufacturing and Operations teams, a collaboration between the DEI team and HR Leadership has formed and given rise to our DEI Champions.

DEI Champions are individuals who are passionate about inclusion and want to support Medline’s vision of DEI through engagement with their team members. Led by Ernie Field (Dir, HR) and Chris Morrow (Dir, HR) with the support of their leaders Katie Halberg, SVP Sales/ Corporate functions/Supply Chain, and Donna Jones, SVP, HR Manufacturing, Product Divisions/IS/International, DEI Champions offers inclusion initiatives that are customized to the specific

DEI Team

needs of our locations. The goal of this partnership is to develop content in formats that are applicable in Operations and Manufacturing. DEI Champions are committed to adapting content and facilitating events while also providing feedback on best practices for the locations they oversee.

Employee Resource

Groups (ERGs) are Medline’s employeeled groups dedicated to fostering a diverse, inclusive workplace aligned with our mission, values, and goals. Check out some of the ways our ERGs made a splash in 2023, from promoting thoughtful resources, to hosting events to build awareness.

A Latinx Medline Alliance

2023 Highlight

As we strive to increase impact, one of our biggest wins in 2023 was the production of short videos specifically created for our field employees. These clips were created in Spanish and shared as a short video highlighting the important role of being a Latinx mother. One of the moms featured is from a manufacturing location, which created engagement and positive feedback. This video and its message resonated with many of our ERG members and others throughout the organization.

2024 Focus Area

In 2024, we plan to create and share more brief video clips, compatible with our communication systems in Ops and Manufacturing, which address topics and themes relevant to those employee groups. Our efforts will be focused on being a resource and listening to the voices of our membership and the population we support, while continuing to engage our allies.

Highlights Employee

Asian Pacific American

2023 Highlight

Based on feedback from a 2022 survey, the APA ERG chose to focus on professional development in 2023. This includes highlighting field representatives Tina Chan, Mariko Watanabe, and John Aranton to share their stories. We’re very proud to see that our efforts are being recognized by our membership. 100% of our 2023 survey respondents indicated that we are meeting or exceeding their expectations.

2024 Focus Area

We will continue to align our efforts to involve and engage our members and allies in the field. We’re excited to continue to build engagement among Medline employees across the company!

Black Employee Network

2023 Highlight

2023 was filled with different ways for our members to engage—from the BEN Newsletter, to Leadership Roundtables, and Networking Events (both virtual and onsite). We loved establishing more consistent communication with our new members, and making sure there were opportunities for them to engage with our ERG.

2024 Focus Area

We are continuing to prioritize extending the reach of our ERG so we can have BEN members present in each Branch. As we expand, we are eager to provide mentoring and networking to propel growth and development of Medline employees.

Resource Groups! from our

Disability Awareness & Action Alliance

2023 Highlight

In 2023, we hosted Medline’s first ever Disability Pride Month. Many resources combined to help deliver presentations on key topics such as financial planning and digital accessibility in the workplace. Throughout the month, we also created and shared a video that provided an intimate look into the lives of multiple Medline employees that either have disabilities or care for people with disabilities. It was a truly successful celebration of our DAAA community.

2024 Focus Area

As our awareness expands, our primary goal for 2024 is to continue delivering valuable resources for members to help build community, awareness, and support networks for everyone affected by disabilities. We will be leveraging different points of view and professional expertise within the DAAA, engaging with other organizations in the disability community such as Disability:IN, and partnering closely with other ERGs.

PRISM

2023 Highlight

2023 was a year of significant ERG growth and impact. We’re thrilled for Medline’s expanded gender affirming care, family building benefits, and successful Pride month philanthropic campaigns, as well as the launch of Medline Dragons, a new member-led educational community focused on helping parents and allies support, understand and affirm LGBTQ+ youth.

Medline also signed The Human Rights Campaign Business Coalition for Equality Act.

2024 Focus Area

The future is so bright, and the overwhelming engagement, excitement and enthusiasm from our growing membership fuels that. We are committed to developing a roadmap to submit credentials for the Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index, which highlights an organization’s commitment to LGBTQ+ inclusive policies, practices and benefits.

Medline Veteran Engagement Team

2023 Highlight

On September 16th, 37 Medline volunteers from Northfield, Libertyville, and Mundelein partnered with Renew Homes to build housing for those less fortunate, which includes the local veteran community. The original goal was to build one home, but through their incredible passion and teamwork, they were able to build two homes!

2024 Focus Area

Our 2024 focus is on scaling what we accomplished in 2023 so we can have even greater impact. In 2023, we created three committees that significantly enhanced our communication, outreach, and engagement. We plan to host more coffee chats to encourage open dialogue about veteran topics, and offer additional volunteer events to engage our members in areas that are most meaningful to them.

Women’s ERG (WERG)

2023 Highlight

Our most successful initiatives in 2023 were our panel discussions, where we averaged over 400 attendees, plus hundreds of post-session views of the recording. We held two panel discussions— Women in Leadership at Medline and Male Allyship at Medline—to share success stories, discuss challenges, and highlight where we need to focus our WERG efforts.

2024 Focus Area

One of our key goals in 2024 is to increase allyship and expand membership to more men at Medline. We will be sharing more resources and offering training to support them in their allyship journey.

Did you swaddle your baby in a Medline blanket? Help your grandma into a Medline wheelchair? Outside of the office, Medline is all around us.

We distribute over 300,000 unique medical supplies, including more than 65,000 manufactured by Medline—so chances are, you’ve not only run into some of our products, you’ve seen firsthand that the work we do matters.

We asked employees how they’ve been personally impacted by our products outside of work. And in turn got to see how the work we do makes a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

Take a look at some of the real-world stories your teammates have shared. Join in by sharing a story using #MedlineAtWork on our LinkedIn or Instagram channels.

In May, my youngest daughter broke her arm and was taken to Lake Forest Hospital, where Medline’s presence was everywhere you looked. My daughter had to be transferred to Children's Hospital in Chicago to undergo surgery. From the stretcher down to the bandages, the Medline brand was seen everywhere in the ambulance and at the Children’s Hospital. As a nervous parent waiting for their child to have surgery, it gave me peace of mind knowing that the surgeons, doctors, and nurses were using Medline products. Working for Medline, I know how much care goes into every product, and I knew my loved one was in good hands.

When my son was born a month ago, Condell Hospital wrapped him in a Medline baby blanket.

Whenever my family needs medical products, I always order from Medline. Usually, I receive my order in 1-2 days, which is fast and impressive! The products I have ordered have always worked great and I will continue using Medline in the future whenever needed.

Visiting my Grandma today and saw her Medline wheelchair! #MedlineAtWork

At Work >>>

My daughter had twins in April 2021. Since then, they’ve used Medline disposable diapers and Zinc crème. Now, as they’re getting ready to be entirely out of diapers, the next step is Medline training pants!

Unfortunately, my Mom had health issues this summer and was at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. I noticed a lot of Medline products, and when I mentioned to staff that I worked for Medline, they responded that they use almost all Medline products. When my mom needed physical and occupational therapy at her house, Medline bandages were used by the home health team. When I commented that I worked for Medline, they told me how great the Medline supplies were. I thank God, the doctors and many hospital staff that my Mom is doing better and recently turned 90 years old. I am blessed to have her and call her My Mom.

My Uncle was recently in the ICU of a hospital in my area of California and my family was commenting on how grateful they were at the number of times the nurses changed their gloves. I looked up to see they were all Medline gloves, and when I shared that this was the company I worked for, it brought such a sense of comfort to all of us.

I interact with or use Medline products daily! From the hand sanitizer (HH70F75), to the odor eliminators (MF545), to my daily skin cream (MSC092416), to my son's baby wipes (MSC263040), Medline products are part of my family's everyday life.

My dad was diagnosed with multiple myeloma a few years ago, which has affected his ability to get around on his own. It had become cumbersome for him and my mom to travel with a heavy wheelchair, unloading it and then loading it back in the car.

I asked the DME division if we had something more lightweight, and they helped me find a transport chair that was just what they needed. My parents were able to pick it up near their house at our B31 distribution center, where Tom, the Ops Manager, personally helped make sure they received the product. This was over a year ago and my parents still talk about how thankful they are for it. It was and continues to be a game changer for them!
