Smarties have been synonymouswith colourful,chocolatey fun for 85 years – andnow thebrandis celebratingitslandmarkbirthday with a brand-new product.

NestléIrelandhasannouncedthat white chocolate Smartieswillhitshelvesacross the country fromthemiddleofMarch.Like the rest ofthe range, Smarties White will comein recyclablepaper packagingandwillinitiallylaunchin a 38ghexatube.A 100gsharingbagwillalsobe availablefrom June.

“White chocolate isbecoming evermore popularwith consumers,outperformingbothmilkand darkchocolate at a categorylevel andgrowing every year to date and we are particularlydelighted to now launchSmarties White,” saidMariaMcKenna, confectionerymarketingmanager, Nestlé Ireland.

In2021,Smartiesbecamethe first global confectionerybrand to move allitsproducts to paper. The brand’s new packagingismadefrom coatedpaper, paperlabelsorcartonboard,allproduced fromsustainablysourced and recyclablematerial.
