ne of them has worked for Vogue and her art is sold at Liberty’s, and another was selected to complete a wall mural at No.15 Great Pulteney Street – Bath’s newest boutique hotel. Here we meet the artists helping to make gallery and studio space 44AD such a vibrant and dynamic creative community hub.
After completing a degree and Master of Fine Art at Bath Spa University, the sculpturist and painter says 44AD provided her the perfect transition space to further develop her practice amongst fellow creatives. “It gives artists the chance to get their work out there,” she says. “Open studio days and visits from students give us the chance to get feedback from a wide-ranging audience.”

With over 16 years’ design experience, Donna has worked on many magazine titles – from Vogue to Country Homes. The illustrator now creates bespoke graphics for greeting cards, gifts and wedding stationery and you’ll find her brand in Liberty, and London’s Fashion & Textile Museum. “44AD is a very special place,” she says. “It’s a hub where you’ll find many talented artists creating art for Bath to enjoy.”
LUCY ROLFE
The textile designer-maker specialises in surface pattern design and digital and screen printing. She says that the “stimulating, supportive, creative and friendly environment” at 44AD has helped and encouraged her on her way to returning to the world of art.
