TEE IT UP A NOTE FROM YOUR COURSE SUPERINTENDENT We all know the game of golf is much more enjoyable when you can drive to the ball for your next shot. Now that the 2022 golf season is here, I'd like to go over our cart traffic rules. My number one priority is to protect the course. However, getting "carts off the path" following a rain event is a top priority. Primary Cart Traffic Rules: (1) 90-degree Rule | You can exit the path once you have driven until you're about 90 degrees from your ball, which I'm sure is in the middle of the fairway. After you and your partner hit another green in regulation, drive 90 degrees back to the path. On those rare occasions you miss the green on your approach shot please drive as needed until you get within 50 yards of the green. After that, you will need to keep your cart on the path for the remainder of the hole. (2) Cart Path Only | No geometry is needed for this one, please keep your cart on the path for the entire round. Secondary Cart Traffic Rules: We ask that carts always stay on the path playing the par 3's.

On occasion, we need to keep carts off a hole entirely and will post a sign at the tee. Cart signs, stakes, and rope make the course look less appealing. I like to minimize their use whenever possible. Thanks for driving responsibly. We look forward to providing you with a great experience every time you tee it up. If you have any questions regarding play on the course please let us know and we can assist in any way possible. See you on the course, Chris Chapman

A NOTE FROM YOUR DIRECTOR OF GOLF Hello ONSC Golf Members, We use white arrows (cart signs) to direct you away from low, wet areas. If the signs span the entire width of the fairway and are rough, then we ask that the cart stays on the path for the rest of that hole.

Spring came and went, and now the meat of our 30th Golf Season is in full swing. Both of our Men's and Ladies Member-Members and the Men's Member-Guest will take place over the next sixty days. Chris Chapman, our Superintendent, and his Staff have the golf course in excellent condition. Both the Senior Men's Golf Association and the Women's Golf Association have been going strong. The Senior Men have been enjoying the new events and payout structure, while the Ladies Association is as strong as ever. Our Sundowners Couples Program, run by Assistant Professional Aaron Richardson, keeps couples playing golf together once a month on a Sunday, with competitive, but FUN Formats. The Members are fighting it out in the Senior Match Play and Spring 2Man Match Play! The Men's and Senior Men's Interclub Teams have been plugging along. Both teams are performing well, and hopes are high for another playoff run. We are also excited to be hosting a NC Panel Event on June 14th. Lots going on...and that's the way we like it here at The Lake! Our Staff is ready to continue to put on a great show this year! I look forward to seeing you all soon,

In some cases, we use cart signs to detour carts from local wet areas, and you can ride on the fairway past the signs.
