What is HTL? Heat transfer labels enhance brand packaging to create a visually appealing and highly-functional product. Heat transfer provides a seamless, aesthetic, ‘no-label’ look while offering virtual 360-degree application. This technology can be applied to a variety of containers in different shapes and sizes (from two ounces to five gallons) with extremely accurate label placement. Heat transfer affords greater adhesion and durability – even in highmoisture environments. The inks within the label stretch during the cooling process to conform to the bottle. These labels are fully recyclable without removing them from the container. They are also squeeze and product resistant, lightfast and have a high degree of ink opacity.

Key features • No-label look • 360-degree application • Fully recyclable • Greater adhesion and durability • Decorating flexibility • Cost effective solution • Late stage differentiation

Optimize your Brand with HTL Innovations How do you stand out from your competitors on retail shelves? Differentiate your packaging using these HTL innovations.

Ultimate White Opacity Inks Specified Ink chemistry for bottles which must match opacity level of film backed decoration solutions. Obtained through a combination of high pigment load inks and specially engraved print cylinders with increased cell volume.

Flameless HTL Exclusive chemistry in which pre-flame treatment is not needed during the application. This innovation significantly reduces the machine space and capital

requirements of standard HTL technology. It also simultaneously improves atmospheric conditions and safety concerns by eliminating open flames on the production floor.

Digital HTL Capable of printing small runs for lower quantities of labels needed for a product. Make each label unique during production through customization capabilities. New white digital ink developed to reduce the number of production steps.

Increase brand identity, reduce inventory costs and shorten lead times all at the same time with our high color heat transfer labels. Warren McKinney, National Account Manager Automotive & Chemical at MCC

Offering Full Scope of HTL Solutions for KOST USA

KOST USA, Inc. is the largest family-owned manufacturer, supplier and marketer of antifreeze and functional fluids in the United States. They were previously using another label solution for their DefendAL® branded antifreeze/coolant line but challenged MCC to find a new label solution that met their business goals. Late stage differentiation Through extensive knowledge sharing sessions with KOST, our label experts determined heat transfer labels (HTL) is the right label solution for their DefendAL® bottle. HTL is a cost-effective solution that prints superior quality, high color labels onto branded bottles. HTL allows for late stage differentiation in their manufacturing process. They now fill their bottles in-line and manage both the color of the bottle and the label at the same time without having to carry dedicated finished goods inventory.

Cold Foil Shines Brighton the Leaktite Caution Pail

6

Leaktite, an American manufacturer of pails and buckets for various applications, wanted to introduce a highly reflective, safety-oriented bucket into their wide product line. They had a vision but needed a label manufacturer with heat transfer label expertise. Highly reflective HTL Our heat transfer labels enhance customer’s brands across all industries, delivering durable, premium labels for their products. Leaktite challenged us with this unique request to produce a highly reflective heat transfer label for their new 5-gallon bucket. Our experienced HTL and research and development teams worked exclusively with Leaktite to come up with the perfect label solution for this application – cold foil. The metallic foil printed on the substrate

would provide the extremely shiny, reflective look for high visibility during the day and night. Customer focused solution Our strategic design intent focuses on the needs of the customer and how we can best utilize our capabilities to exceed their expectations. Through this, we determined that the cold foil stripes should be located on the bottom half of the bucket. This enables the labels to work seamlessly on their label application equipment. This was the first-time cold foil was used for a heat transfer label – and it did not disappoint. This product showcases the many printing possibilities we can achieve with HTL.

Over the years, MCC has been a primary supplier of Leaktite’s growth and innovation. With their support, our business has grown by adding unique and outstanding label application designs to the marketplace. We rely on their engineering and their development team to bring new products to life. This has given our key customers great opportunities for growth. Jay Brooks, President at Leaktite
