EnsuringthegrowthandwellbeingofourstudentsliesatthecenterofallourdecisionsatMBS.Wemaintaina balancedapproachtorigorousacademics,enrichingco-curricularandextracurricularactivities,andanengaging familyandcommunitylife. Building Safety and Security

Emergency Procedures and School Closings

Emergency Procedures

Inthecaseofamajoremergency,theSchoolwillinitiatetheCrisisManagementPlan,whichisupdatedeach yearandaddressesamyriadofsituations.

TheSchoolhasaCrisisTeaminplacethatreviewsschoolpoliciesregardingemergencysituations,aswellas monitorsworldandnationaleventsastheymayrelatetothesafetyofourstudents.

Inaneorttoprovideforthesafetyofourstudentsandthesecurityofourfacilities,surveillancecamerasare locatedthroughoutthecampus.

School Closing Due to Weather

WhenSchoolisdelayedorsuspendedfortheday,theSchoolwillusetheFinalsiteMessagessystem Thesealerts willalsobepostedontheMBSwebsite.

TheFinalsiteMessagessystemwillusethecontactinformationthatyouenteredintheMyBackpackportal. OnceadecisionismadetoclosetheSchool,familieswillreceiveanycombinationofphonemessages,text,oran emailalertingthemtothedecision.

Ifsnowyoricyconditionsexistandnophonemessagehasbeenreceived,familiesshouldconrmthatschoolis insessionbeforeleavinghomebyeithercallingorcheckingthewebsite.

Sometimes,insteadofclosingschoolcompletely,theSchoolwilldeclareaDelayedOpening.Inthiscase,advisor meetingswillbeheldat9:30a.m.andclasseswillbeginat9:40a.m.Delayedopeningschedulescanbefoundin theParentandStudentPortalsontheMBSwebsite.

Onrareoccasionswhenastormstrikesafterschoolhasalreadystarted,anEarlyDismissalwillbedeclared. Studentswillbepermittedtocallhome.Parentsofstudentdriversorridersshoulddiscusstheseprocedures beforethebadweatherarrives.

Academic Integrity

AcademicintegrityisthecornerstoneofoureducationalprogramatMorristownBeardSchoolandintegralto ourvalueofpersonalresponsibility.Studentsarerequiredtoacceptresponsibilitytodotheirownworkwithout unapprovedresourcesandtogivecredittoanysource(s)theyuse,includingpersons,print,software,articial intelligence(AI)suchasChatGPT,and/orotherelectronicsources.Whenindoubtastowhetheranactionor resourceisinviolationoftheacademicintegritypolicy,studentsmustseekclaricationfromtheirteacher, advisor,and/ordeanbeforetakinganyriskswiththeiracademicintegrity.

Protocols for Suspected Incidents of Academic Dishonesty

TheMiddleSchoolDean(grades6-8)andtheDeanofStudentConduct(grades9-12)maintainstudentrecords pertainingtoincidentsofacademicdishonesty Inasituationwherestudent'sacademicintegrityisinquestion, thefollowingprotocolsareinplace:

1. Toensureinstitutionalconsistency,thefacultymemberwilldiscussthesituationwiththe departmentchair(US)orthedean(MS)priortoaddressingtheincidentwiththestudent.Inthe UpperSchool,thedepartmentchairwillthendiscussthesituationwiththeUpperSchool AcademicDeanorAssociateDean;theUpperSchoolAcademicDeanwillapprisethe appropriategradeleveldean.

2 IntheUpperSchool,theUpperSchoolAcademicDean(orAssociateDean)alongwiththe appropriategradedeanwillmeetwiththestudenttoaddressthematter Ifastudenthashad multipleincidencesofacademicdishonesty,theywillalsomeetwiththeDirectorofStudent Conduct IntheMiddleSchool,thedeanwillmeetwiththestudenttoaddressthematter

3. Theapplicabledeanwillcontacttheparents/guardiansandissueanydisciplinaryconsequences.

4. Thedepartmentchair,inconsultationwiththefacultymember,willissueanyacademicconsequences.

5 Thefacultymemberwillmeetwiththestudent,shareanyapplicableacademicpenalty,andplanapath forwardwiththestudent Inordertoprotectstudentprivacy,disciplinaryconsequencesarenotshared beyondtheapplicableadministrativeteam,butthefacultymemberisinformedwhentheprocesshas concluded

Consequences for Academic Dishonesty

● Forarstoense,consequenceswillinclude,ataminimum,noticationofthestudent’sadvisor,the divisionhead,andtheparents/guardians,andasignicantacademicconsequencetobedeterminedby thedepartmentchair Theremaybeadditionalconsequences

● Forasecondoense,inadditiontotheacademicconsequences,studentsmayalsobesubjectto disciplinaryconsequences,includingbutnotlimitedtodisciplinaryprobation,disciplinarywarning, suspension,orexpulsion(SeeConductandDisciplinarySystem).

GradesatMBSserveasareectionofastudent'sknowledgeandunderstandingofthecoursework.Teachers mayemployavarietyofformative(ie designedtosupportlearningandprovidefeedback)andsummative(ie designedtomeasureastudent'sunderstanding)assessmentsthroughoutagradingterminordertogather evidenceofstudentmasteryoftheskillsandcontentrelevanttoaclass

Weekly and Daily Assignments

Itisessentialthatallassignmentsandothercourserequirements(tests,quizzes,projects,homework,etc)be communicatedecientlytoallstudents FacultyareexpectedtouseGoogleClassroomandGoogleSitesfor eachcoursetopostallassignmentsandotherimportantinformationontheportal.Noworkcanbeassigned afterthecloseoftheschoolday(4pm).

Homeworkshouldbeformativeinnaturewithintentionallearningoutcomes.StudentsintheMiddleSchool shouldexpecttodoabout20-30minutesofhomework(whichmayincludereadingorstudying/reviewing)per classmeetingforacademicclasses.StudentsintheUpperSchoolshouldexpecttodoabout45minutesof homework(whichmayincludereadingorstudying/reviewing)perclassmeetingforacademicclasses. Advanced classesmayrequireadditionalworkbeyondthisexpectation. Major Assessments

Allacademiccourseswillevaluatestudentlearningwitharangeofassessments,whichmayincludetests,writing assignments,projects,andlabs/labreports.Studentswillbeinformedaboutmajorassessmentswellinadvance andshouldplantheirworkandpreparationaccordingly.Itistheschool'sintentthatstudentsshouldnothave morethantwomajorassessmentsonanygivenday.Ifastudentdiscoversthattheyhavemorethantwomajor commitmentsonthesameday,theyshouldspeakdirectlywiththerespectiveteachersatleastadayinadvance Inconsultationwiththeiradvisorandteachers,studentsmayrequesttomoveanassessmentsothattheyarenot preparingformorethantwomajorassessmentsinasingleday Teachersareexpectedtopostmajortestsand assignmentsinGoogleClassroomwithsucientleadtime,enablingstudentstoplantheirstudieseectively In theeventofastudentabsenceonatestormajorassessmentday,itisthestudent'sresponsibilityonthedayof theirreturntoarrangethemakeupassessmentwiththeirteachersinaccordancewithmake-upguidelines

Final Assessments

Studentstypicallyhavesignicantsummativeassessmentsattheendofacourse Thesemayincludecapstone projects,lengthywritingassignments,oralexams,ornalexams.End-of-yearassessmentsmayvaryintheMiddle School.TheUpperSchoolrunsaspecialscheduleattheendoftheyeartoadministerMathandScienceexams. Studentswhomisssuchanassessmentbecauseofillnessmustscheduleamake-uptimewiththeteacherin consultationwiththerespectiveDepartmentChair.

Afterlettingthestudentknowthattheyarenotindresscode,thefacultyorstamemberwillnotifythe appropriatedeantoletthemknowthestudentwasnotindresscode StudentswillreceiveaPCFfromtheir MiddleSchooladvisororUpperSchoolgradedeanaftertheirrstdresscodeviolation Subsequentviolationswill resultinadailydetentiontobeservedonthedayoftheinfraction Dailydetentionscannotbemissedforafter schoolobligations. Chemical Health Policy

MorristownBeardSchooliscommittedtoprovidingandmaintainingadrug-freelearningenvironmentthat promotesthehealthandwellbeingofourstudents. Theschoolaimstoeducateandraiseawarenessofthe dangersofsubstanceabuse,andstrivestosupportstudentsinmakingpositive,healthydecisions.MBSconsiders anyuseofcontrolledsubstancesbystudentstobemisuse.

Tothisend,theschoolmaintainsazero-tolerancepolicytowardillegal,non-prescriptiondrug,misused prescriptiondrugs,andalcoholuseonschoolproperty,ontheschool'sbuses(orsub-contractors),orata school-relatedfunction. Anystudentfoundinviolationofthefollowingruleswillfacedisciplinaryaction,upto andincludingdismissalfromschool:

● Studentuse,possession,and/orordistributionofillicitdrugs;syntheticversionsofillegaldrugs; marijuana;cannabis;THC;nicotineinanyform(includingcigarettes,e-cigarettes,vaporizers,and chewingtobacco);misuseofprescriptionmedications;and/oralcohol

● Studentuse,possession,and/ordistributionofalcoholordrugparaphernaliaincluding,butnotlimited to:e-cigarettes,vaporizers,rollingpapers,pipes,oranybottleorcontainerusedforthepurposeof holdingalcoholicbeverages

Chemical Health Testing Policy

Ifafacultymembersuspectsastudentofbeingundertheinuenceofdrugsoralcohol,theywillimmediately contacttheHeadofMiddleorUpperSchooland/ortheappropriatedean,whowillescortthestudenttothe Nurse.OncethestudentarrivesintheNurse’sOceacursoryevaluationconductedbyNurse’sOcestawill attempttodetectanyovertsignsofsubstanceuse,andwillincludeaskingthestudentiftheyareunderthe inuenceofanyillicitdrugs,alcohol,tobacco,misusedprescriptionmedication,orotherprohibitedsubstance Thestudent’sgradedeanmayalsobepresentduringthisevaluation

IftheSchool’sevaluationhasreasonablesuspiciontobelievethatastudentisundertheinuenceofaprohibited substanceand/oralcohol,thestudentmustundergoachemicalscreeningwithintwohoursatthe parent’s/guardian’sexpense Parents/GuardianswillbecontactedtocomemeetwiththeHeadofMiddleor UpperSchoolandtheappropriatedeantodiscussthesituationandtotransporttheirchildtobetestedforthe presenceofdrugsand/oralcohol IftheSchoolisunabletoreachtheparent/guardianortheemergencycontact, thestudentwillbetransportedbyambulance,totheMorristownMedicalCenteremergencyroomaccompanied byaschoolocial.Ineithercase,MBSmustbeprovidedwiththeocialtestresults.Ifastudentrefusestotake adrugoralcoholtestorattemptstouseaspecimenthathasbeentamperedwithorisnotthestudent’sown,the Schoolwillconsiderthisapositivetestresult.

Ifthetestindicatesthatthestudentisimpaired,theywillfacedisciplinaryaction,uptoandincludingdismissal fromschool.Ifthestudentispermittedtoreturntoschool,aparent/guardianmustprovideanotefromthe student'sdoctorstatingthatthestudentmaysafelyreturntoschool.Additionally,theSchoolwillrequirea ChemicalHealthAssessmentbyalicensedprofessionalinorderforthestudenttoreturntoschool,andthe studentandparents/guardiansmustadheretotherecommendationssetforthintheChemicalHealth AssessmentandaReleaseofInformation(ROI)forourcounselingteamtocollaboratewiththeprovidersofthe ChemicalHealthAssessment TheSchoolwillalsorequirethestudentandtheirparents/guardianstoattenda meetingwiththeHeadofMiddleorUpperSchool,andanyadditionaladministratorsandstadeemed

Chemical Health And Non-MBS Events

Ifreliableinformationreachestheschoolthatastudentwasundertheinuenceofeitherdrugsoralcoholata non-MBSevent,creatingconcernforthatstudent’soverallwellbeing,theHeadofMiddleorUpperSchoolwill discussthisinformationwiththestudent’sdeanandtheschoolcounselors TheSchoolwillcontactthe student’sparents/guardianstomakethemawareoftheinformationandtodiscussanyconcernsorareasfor support.

Ifschoolocialssuspectaparticularstudent’sstrugglesinschoolarearesultofapotentialsubstanceuse problem,theHeadofMiddleorUpperSchoolwillconveneameetingofthatstudent’sadvisor,dean,teachers, andcoachestogatherpertinentbehavioraldataabouttheparticularstudent.Additionalstamembersdeemed appropriatebytheSchoolmayalsoattendthismeeting.

Dependingupontheresultsoftheconferenceandanyadditionalinformationcontainedinthestudent’sle,the Schoolmayaskforameetingwiththeparents/guardianstodiscusstheissue TheSchoolmayrequirethe studenttoundergoongoingdrugscreening,achemicalhealthassessment,counselingsessionsand/orparticipate inasubstanceuseprogramasaconditionofmaintainingthechild’senrollmentatMorristownBeard Inturn, theSchoolwillrequiredocumentationthereof

Ifastudentreachesouttoateacher,administrator,oranystamemberinaneorttoseekouthelpforanyof theaforementionedissues,theHeadofMiddleorUpperSchoolwillbealerted Inconsultationwithschool counselorsandtheparents/guardians,theSchoolwillattempttoascertainthedepthoftheproblemsothatthe familymayobtaintimelyassistancefortheirchild.Theseinstancesmaynotnecessarilyinvolvedisciplinary action,thoughanemphasisontheoverallwellbeingofthestudentmaynecessitateaMedicalLeaveofAbsence (seeMedicalLeavePolicyforfurtherdetails)orwithdrawalfromschool.

Child Abuse or Neglect

TheStateofNewJerseyrequiresanypersonhavingreasonablecausetobelievethatachildhasbeensubjectedto neglectoractsofabusetoimmediatelyreportthatneglectorabusetotheDivisionofChildProtectionand Permanency TheSchoolmustabidebythislaw,andtheSchoolwillcooperatewithauthoritiesinthe identicationandreportingofanyreasonablesuspicionofchildabuseorneglectinaccordancewithlaw

Communicable Disease

Infurtheranceofensuringthehealthandsafetyofthecommunity,theSchoolaimstopromoteunderstanding andpreventionrelatingtocommunicablediseases,ensurefairandnon-discriminatorytreatment,andmonitor guidelinesanddataissuedbytheCenterforDiseaseControlandPrevention,theStateofNewJersey,andlocal authorities.

Somecommunicablediseasesandvirusesofamoreseriousnaturemayposesignicanthealthandsafetyrisks.In responsetoconcernsaboutsuchrisks,duringapandemic,epidemic,ordeclaredemergency,theSchoolrequires

thatanystudent,stamember,vendor,visitor,orguestreportimmediatelytoadministrationanypotentially communicablediseasewhichtheindividualmayhavecontractedorbeenexposedto.Duringanepidemic, pandemicorsimilarhealthcrisis,theSchoolfurtherinstructsanystudentthatpossessessymptomsofa communicablediseaserefrainfromattendingclasses,eldtripsandextra-curricularactivitiesuntilthestudentis feverand/orsymptomfreeforaperiodofatleasttwenty-four(24)hours IftheSchooldeterminesthatastudent presentsarisktotheSchoolcommunity,theSchoolmayrequirethatstudenttorefrainfromattendingschool, includingclasses,eldtripsandextra-curricularactivities,foradesignatedperiodoftime TheSchoolwillwork withparentstomakeappropriatearrangements Inmakingsuchadetermination,theschoolmayconsider:(a) documentationbyaprofessionalhealthcareprovider;(b)thesymptomspossessed;(c)howlongthepersonis infectiousorhashadsymptoms;and(d)theseverityofpotentialharmtothirdparties Studentsmaybe requiredtoprovidedocumentationfromahealthcareprofessionalpriortoreturningtocampus

Leaves of Absence

Leave of Absence for Opportunity

MBSfamiliesmayalsorequestaleaveinordertotakeadvantageofanopportunitythatrequiresthemtolive awayfromtheMorristownareaforuptoayear.MBShasastrongcommitmenttoitscurrentfamiliesandwe willdoourbesttofacilitateandsupportthestudents’returntoMBS.Wealsorecognizethatspecial opportunitiesbroadenourstudents’educationalexperienceinwaysthatwillbenetnotonlythefamily,but alsotheentireschoolcommunity.

Procedure for a leave of absence for opportunity:

● Families planning to take a one-year leave should inform the Admission Office no later than March 1. If the family planning to take leave has already signed a re-enrollment contract and made a deposit or payment, please refer to the contract for information on refundability and ability to cancel the contract.

● SincethestudentsmustcontinuetomakeacademicprogressthatwillenablethemtoreturntoMBS withoutunduediculty,therelevantDivisionHeadmustapprovetheacademicplansforthesemester oryearaway.Re-admissionwillbedependentonthestudents’satisfactoryperformanceintheir pre-approvedprograms.

MEDICAL LEAVES AND RELATED SHORT-TERM ACCOMMODATIONS

Amedicalleavefromschoolmaybeappropriateincaseofseriousillness,bodilyinjury,ormentalhealth condition,asdeterminedinaccordancewiththispolicy.Studentsandfamiliesshouldworkcloselywiththe Schoolwhenastudent’shealthstatuswarrantsspecialaccommodationsduetoaserioushealthcondition.In accordancewiththeSchool’sMedicalLeavePolicies,academicaccommodationsbecauseofastudent’sserious healthconditionarebasedoneachuniquecircumstance,andtheSchoolmaymakeaccommodationsbased uponadiagnosisfromthemedicalprofessionalcaringforthestudentandthefamily’scommitmenttothe recommendedtreatment TheSchool,initssolediscretion,willdeterminewhetheranaccommodationcanbe madewithoutfundamentallyalteringtheacademicprogramorcausingtheSchoolanundueburden

Thegoalofshort-termaccommodationsistohelpstudentstransitionbackintofullhealthand,whenready, backintofullengagementwiththepaceandchallengeoftheregularacademicprogram Coursecreditis grantedwhentheminimumrequirementsforaclasshavebeenmet. Insomecases,classcreditcannotbegiven, andgraduationrequirementsmayneedtobemadeupinthefollowingsemesteroryear. TheSchooldoesnot changeitsgraduationrequirementsoritsacademicprogram. ThegrantingofamedicalleavemeansthattheSchoolacceptsandwillaccommodatethe

student’sabsencefromtheacademicprogramforintensivetreatmentorrecoverytime.The Schoolalsoacknowledgestheimpactthiscanhaveonsubsequentacademicwork.Studentson amedicalleavedonotattendorparticipateinMBS-sponsoredextracurricularactivities, includingathleticsandtheater

Medical Leaves from School

MBSutilizesmedicalleavestogivestudentsthetimenecessaryforsignicanttreatment,recovery,rehabilitation, orintensivetherapy.Therearetwokindsofmedicalleaves.

● FullMedicalLeaveallowsastudenttoengageinadailytreatmentprogramthatrequiresastudentto beabsentfromMBS.ForafullMedicalLeave,academicexpectationsaretemporarilysuspendedor calibratedwiththetreatmentprogramiftheprogramcontainsanacademiccomponent.When returningfromafullmedicalleave,astudentwillworkwiththeCenterforTeachingandLearning, counselors,dean,andtheirteachersonagradualre-entryplan AbsencesduetoMedicalLeavesdonot countagainsttheAbsencePolicy

● PartialMedicalLeaveallowsstudentstoattendandstayengagedwithschoolwithtemporarily modiedacademicexpectationstocreatenecessarytimeandspacefortreatment TheDivisionHead, OceoftheUpperSchoolAcademicDean,andDirectoroftheCenterforTeachingandLearningwill determineappropriatelengthoftimeinschoolandparametersforacademicinterventions

DuetothenatureoftheSchool’seducationalprogramandtheimpactofextendedabsencesonboththestudent andtheirteachers,theSchoolmaynotbeabletoaccommodateextendedmedicalleaves.Decisionsabout grantingorrequiringanextendedmedicalleave,orreinstatingastudentwhohasbeenonleave,restswithinthe School’sdiscretion. StudentsmayberequiredtocompletetheirschoolyearawayfromMBSintheseinstances orrepeattheacademicyear,attheSchool’sdiscretion.

Pass/Fail Option for Physical or Mental Health Issues

TheSchoolmaydecidetomoveastudenttoPass/Failforagradingperiodbaseduponthestudent’shealthor wellbeingdemands.Thismaybeduetoanextendedmedicalleaveorahealthconditionthatiscompromising thestudent’sabilitytocompleteMBS’sacademicprogram.StudentsonPass/Failwillhaveapathwayarticulated bytheirdivisionalteamtoearnagradeof“Pass”ineachoftheirclasses Typically,ifPass/Failisconnedtoa quarter,itisstillpossibleforthestudenttoearnalettergradeforasemester However,ifastudentrequires Pass/Failtoextendpastaquarter,thenthestudentwillearnPass/Failgradesforthesemester Pass/Failindicates thatthestudentiscompletingtheminimumnecessaryinordertocontinuetothenextquarterorcourse

Pass/Failisgenerallyatemporaryaccommodationandtypicallywillnotbeextendedtostudentsbeyondone semester.Pass/Failappliestoallclassesinwhichthestudentiscurrentlyenrolled.

Mental Health Concerns, Behavioral Concerns, and MBS Response Pathways

Whenthementalhealthorbehavioralconcernsofastudentinanydivisionprecludeastudentfromregular attendanceinclassorappropriateprogresstowardacademicrequirementsorplacesanundueburdenonschool stathatsignicantlydisruptsoralterstheclassroomexperienceforothers,anoutsideevaluationand/orleaveof absencemayberequired. Inthesecircumstances,thecounselorsmayemploymultidisciplinaryproblemsolving andintervention,andanadministrativeteamwillcollaboratetoidentifythecourseofactiontosupportthe student.Thecounselingand/ornursingstamayconferwithfamiliestomakeappropriatereferralsfor additionalevaluationorassessment,medicalconsultation,and/orinitiationofoutsidementalhealththerapies

Insomeinstances,ifastudent’ssafetyand/oremotionalhealthareinquestionorjeopardizedbyremainingat schoolduetothenegativeimpactoftheacademicprogramrequirementsonastudent’semotionalwellbeing, theadministrativeteam,inconsultationwiththecounselingsta,mayrequireanevaluationandtreatmentplan fromatreatingmentalhealthprofessional,whichmaynecessitateamedicalleaveorinformawithdrawalfrom school

Acounselormayserveasaliaisontotheoutsidementalhealthprofessionalsandmayinterpret recommendationswiththeacademicprogramandresourcesoftheSchoolinmind.Ifmoreintensivetherapies areneededtoaddressastudent’smentalhealthandassociatedmedicalconcerns,ortosupportthestudentin theirabilitytoattendclassorparticipateintheacademicprogram,aMedicalLeavemaybegranted.In accordancewiththeSchool’sMedicalLeavePolicies,short-termacademicaccommodationsmaybegranted basedonadiagnosisfromthemedicalprofessionalcaringforthestudentandafamily’scommitmenttothe recommendedtreatment.

Whenastudenthasmissedasignicantportionofanygradingperiodsuchthatcompletingtheminimum graduationrequirementsforthatperiodisunreasonable,theadministrativeteamwillmakeadecisionasto whetherareturntoschoolisdependentupon,amongotherthings,summerwork,repetitionofacourse,or withtheconditionofrepeatingagradelevel. Insomecases,areturntotheacademicprogramattheSchoolmay notbeinthebestinterestofthestudent'smentalhealthandwithdrawalfromtheSchoolmayberecommended orrequired.

Weapon-Free Campus Policy

The School expressly prohibits the possession of any weapon by any student on campus. As such, no person may possess, conceal, use, or transfer any firearm (including any handgun) or any other weapon (including knives, clubs, or other articles or devices that are primarily used to inflict injury), on School property Any instances of weapon possession must be reported immediately to Campus Security and then to the applicable Division Head and the Chief Financial and Operating Officer

Racial Harassment Disciplinary Consequences:

Any violation of this policy is considered a major offense and the student should expect to face disciplinary action, including but not limited to, disciplinary probation, disciplinary warning, suspension, final warning, or expulsion (See divisional conduct sections for further details).

Detentions

TheSchoolqualiesdetentionsinoneoftwoways:Daily(7:30–8:00a.m.excludingMondayanddelayed openings,and3:30–4:00p.m.Monday-Thursday)orSaturday(9:00–11:00a.m.).

Detentionsareissuedinresponsetoinappropriatebehavior.Astudentisrequiredtoserveadailydetentionas soonaspossible–typicallythesameday,butnotbeyondoneweek;aSaturdaydetentionistobeservedwithin

twoweeks.Ifadailydetentionisnotservedintime,itimmediatelywillbecomeaSaturdayDetention.Failureto serveadailyorSaturdaydetentionontimeiscauseforadditionaldisciplinaryaction.Anyrequestsfor reconsiderationordelayinservingthedetentionmustbemadetotheappropriateGradeDeanbeforethe detentionistobeserved.

Community Service Program

ThecollegecounselingprocessbeginsunociallyasstudentsenterMBS. Throughguidanceaboutacademic andextra-curricularchoicesfromteachers,advisors,andadministrators,theSchoolstrivestopreparestudents forbothapplyingtoandattendingcollege.Asstudentsprogressintotheirnalhighschoolyears,thelow student-counselorratioenablesourstatoindividualizethecollegeprocessforeachstudent.

CurrentMBSstudentsmayrequesttoparticipateinastudyabroadprogram,butpleasenote:TheSchool oersatotaloffour(4)tuition/feewaivers Thesewaiversareproratedfortheportionoftheyearthatthe studentwillbeawayfromcampusandareoeredonarstcome,rstservedbasis.
