ABOUT MORRISTOWN BEARD SCHOOL

Morristown Beard School (MBS), an independent coeducational day school located in Morristown, NJ, seeks a skilled and thoughtful leader to serve as the School’s next Director of Enrollment Management, assuming the role in July 2026. Reporting directly to the Head of School, the Director of Enrollment Management leads the Admission Office, provides strategic partnership and counsel to the Head of School, and, as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, collaborates frequently and thoughtfully with colleagues

Serving students from over 85 communities in Northern New Jersey, MBS maintains enrollment of over 600 students in grades 6-12 on a scenic 22-acre campus. For over a century, MBS has valued academic rigor and ethical development in equal measure, maximizing students’ academic potential while recognizing the value of a balanced life.

POSITION SUMMARY

Serving as a strategic thought partner for the Head of School, the Director of Enrollment Management must stay current regarding demographics, enrollment strategy and trends, and value proposition. The individual is an integral member of the highly collaborative Senior Leadership Team (SLT) that has established trusting working relationships In this capacity, the Director of Enrollment Management will work with the SLT and the Admission Team, while also participating in the development of the School’s retention strategy and implementation of the current strategic plan In support of these processes, the Director of Enrollment Management will provide recommendations, analysis, projections, and other data To participate effectively in this work, the Director of Enrollment Management must build trusting relationships by respectfully listening to and working with colleagues and other members of the School community

Working with an experienced admissions staff, the Director of Enrollment Management will oversee all aspects of admission and retention processes. Providing strong leadership for the office, the Director of Enrollment Management manages and mentors direct reports while exploring ways to bring efficiency and purpose.

Marketing & Communications

● Collaborate with the Communications team to create engaging, mission-aligned admissions materials and ensure consistent, high-impact messaging across all platforms and touchpoints

Database Systems Management

● Oversee management of admissions, enrollment, and CRM electronic systems (Veracross and Hubspot)

● Serves as a point of contact for all database-related interdepartmental collaboration

● Oversee institutional research standards compliance to ensure data integrity

● Works closely with the Director of Technology to support database infrastructure

● Track and analyze enrollment trends, retention data, and demographics

● Collaborate with internal constituents to promote and support institutional research

● Present insights and recommendations to the Head of School and Board of Trustees

Qualifications and Personal Attributes

● Minimum of 5-7 years of leadership experience in admissions, enrollment management, and marketing, preferably within an independent school setting

● Strategic and analytical thinker with strong operational and problem-solving skills

● Excellent communication skills and demonstrated high EQ, with the ability to build relationships across a wide range of constituencies

● Deep commitment to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging

● Proficiency with data management systems (Veracross), digital marketing platforms (Hubspot), and budget oversight preferred

● Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred

Salary Range: $135 000 $160 000/year commensurate with experience
