Fellowship Foundations By: Rev. When our Lord set in motion the local church, He further set its course in Acts 1:8. To see this being carried out faithfully now in the 21st century is exciting as I see local Baptist Churches involved in the Great Commission. During the month of April, I was grateful to be involved in the following ministries. April 5 – We attended the Introduction Service for the new pastor at Calvary Baptist, St. Peter. At present, Pastor David Johnson makes his home in New Ulm, and spends part of each week in St. Peter. April 17 – In enjoyed the opportunity to attend the Annual Meeting of the Southeastern Fellowship of Baptist Churches. The meeting was chaired by Pastor Ron Hanson, and I was given the privilege to speak about the work of the MBA. April 19 – Pastor Ron Hanson (Rachel), First Baptist, Preston, invited me to teach in Sunday School and preach in the Morning Service. I presented thoughts on

Robert Fuller, Sr. Interim State Missionary

the Fellowship and advised the church regarding the work and burden of the Minnesota Baptist Association. Rhoda and I thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday meal at the home of Rona and Rachel. April 20 – With our seniors group at Coon Rapids Baptist, we joined the West River Road Baptist seniors and those from First Baptist, St. Francis for a seniors outing at Old Country Buffet. We returned to Coon Rapids Baptist where your ISM was asked to bring devotions. April 24 – We visited the campus of Maranatha Baptist Bible College and it was a blessing to see how our Pillsbury transfer students and the Maranatha students have bonded together as a student body. The visit occasion was the Senior Piano Recital of transfer student, Emily Haynes, daughter of Pastor and Mrs. Joe Haynes, Spring Valley. After graduation from their new colleges, Pillsbury graduates this year will be feted at a special

Pillsbury Graduation to be held at Faith Baptist, St. Paul, on May 24. April 30 – As an exofficio member of the Pillsbury Board, I attended a meeting called by the PBBC Board chairman. Deliberations and decisions were made regarding the on-going project of selling the Owatonna campus of the college. If I can be of help or service to you or your church, please contact me.

MBA Ladies Retreat Wind Up By: Deb Nearly 270 ladies gathered March 20-21, at Grace Baptist Church in Owatonna, for the MBA Ladies Retreat. It was a great time of spiritual refreshment as we considered the need we have to reach out of our comfort zone and serve our Savior more. Mrs. Ruth Huffman was the keynote speaker. She shared the many ways God has led her through her walk with Him, helping her

through some deep valleys and learn more about His incredible love and care. There were seven workshops where the leaders taught us how to comfort others, reach others, and how to keep our lives pure as we walk with God. The “Grace Baptist Crew” graciously served our snacks and lunch. There were some humorous moments where slippers were worn and a comfort zone enjoyed. Most of all, the Ladies Retreat was a time to focus on God and what

He alone can do for us as ladies who desire to serve Him. Plans are underway for next year’s retreat. You won’t want to miss it.

Cornerstone Baptist, Willmar holds Evangelistic Meetings By: Pastor Cornerstone Baptist Church of Willmar held 5 days of evangelist meetings with Evangelist Paul Crow of North Carolina from April 26 through April 29. Praise the Lord, three were saved: a father and his son, and one lady. Eighty-five

Missions Conference at Berean, Brooklyn Park Berean Baptist held its annual Missions Conference during the month of March with the theme, "Joy to the World, the Lord is Come!" The special speakers for the four Sundays (March 8, 15, 22, 29) were Dr. Lance Ketchum, Pastor Doug Roman, Missionary John Kallin, Martha Jongewaard, Pastor Cary Flinck and Pas-

tor Matt Fure. After the evening service on March 8th, we hosted a "Taste of the World" fellowship where many families sponsored a table of goodies from various countries of the world. As a supporting church, we wanted to show our appreciation for the faithful ministries of John & Sylvia Kallin in Brazil (40 years, retired

from active missionary service in 2008) and Martha Jongewaard in Austria (37 years, retired from active missionary service in Feb, 2009). A "Faithful Service" plaque was presented to the Kallins and to Martha on Sunday, March 29th. We thoroughly enjoyed the month-long emphasis on missions and the challenge

Southwest Association hold 142nd Annual Meeting The Southwestern Association of Baptist Churches recently held its 142nd Annual Meeting, April 4, 2009, at Immanuel Baptist, Westbrook, MN. Pastor Rob Adams and congregation welcomed eight of the ten member churches. The guest speaker was Dr. Daniel Brown of Central Baptist Theological Seminary in Plymouth, MN. Dr. Brown’s presentation, The Word Became Flesh, dealt with various aspects of the life of

Christ. He emphasized that the power upon which our Lord relied for the work of his ministry is available to every believer in the Person of the Holy Spirit. The host church provided music and the main meal. The participating churches contributed to the meal and helped make up a volunteer choir. Moderator, Pastor Mark Fish, Lake Benton, MN, led the meeting. This included regular business sessions, a presentation
