First Baptist, Spring Valley Ground Breaking First Baptist Church of Spring Valley celebrated a ground breaking service on Sunday, September 21. In June 2008, the church was approached by the city of Spring Valley to consider a grant offer made available for the purchase of the church building. After much prayer and investigation, the church voted to accept the grant offer. Since the current church building must be vacated in the spring of ’09, it has been an intensive process to gather all information necessary to commence with a new building program. The people are very excited to have this opportunity to build a facility which will be one-level and completely handicapped accessible.

At the ground-breaking service, it was emphasized that the oldest to the youngest members of the congregation will be working together to honor God in the community. Also, on Sunday, a family came forward for

church membership. The congregation is looking forward to a baptism service for 3 children. The church requests your prayers as they continue to glorify God in one spirit in the city of Spring Valley.

MBA Youth Assembly at Chicago Lakes Baptist The MBA Youth Committee would like to invite the teens within its associating churches to participate in this year’s State Youth Rally. The Rally will be hosted by Chisago Lakes Baptist Church. This activity is evangelistic in focus. The committee would like to encourage teens around the state to invite an unsaved friend to hear the Gospel of

Jesus Christ. It is important for everyone including teens to “look unto the fields that are ripe and ready to harvest.” It is hoped that teens will continue to

share the Gospel and disciple their friends as they return to their local churches. Place: Chisago Lakes Baptist Church Date: November 8, 2008 Time: 8:30a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Ages: 7th-12th Grade Cost: $12.00 (After October 26, $20.00) Speaker: Randy Tanis – Camp Director, Camp Chetek

Grace Baptist, Virginia News On July 21-24 Grace Baptist held Summer Bible School here in Virginia. Again this year it met at one of the local parks. The school had a high of 15 children. The focus of the school was on discovering God’s love. Pray that the children that came will remember the fact of God’s love for them.

The monthly children’s activities for the children in the neighborhood continued through the summer. Since starting in March, 20 different children came to this monthly activity. Pastor Williamson has expressed his gratitude for the help that was given by the church people with this activity. The church is praying that the Lord will give opportunities to reach the whole family through these activities.

On August 10 the fellowship celebrated an MBA Sunday with Rev. Robert Fuller, the Interim State Missionary, speaking during the day. What a joyous time to be able to show the people what is going on in the MBA. The fellowship is very thankful to the MBA for their support of this ministry over the years and especially over the past two years that Brother Williamson has served as Pastor.

MBA Family Camp Wrap-Up

“Next year At Family Camp!”

Seven days of camp make one weak. Even four or five days do! But what a wonderful week at the MBA Family Camp August 4 – 8 at Miracle Bible Camp on Woman Lake! The messages by Evangelist Ken Sparks were challenging - with decisions made for the Lord. Pastor Dick Jensen led the music program and lots of folk participated in special music and in the choir, with Mrs. Suzanne Rogers at the piano. Pastor Goetz from Pen-

gilly had activities planned for teens as well as competition for other ages. That was fun. Mrs. Rogers won some of the competitions - Sudoku, and something else? Mrs. Pam Dvorak and helpers kept the nursery/ preschool program well in hand. Mrs. Betty Huebscher had three classes a day for grades one through six. That was a blessing, she said. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Palm from St. Francis brought their Christian

Bookstore to the camp. Everyone appreciated that. Mrs. Palm also served refreshments each morning at break time. Each morning at 11:00 a.m. was workshop time. One day focused on Church Planting with Dennis Eng who is planting a church in Pine City, under the mother church, Chisago Lakes Baptist Church. Dr. Crane presented the ministry of Pillsbury College. The third workshop centered on Soulwinning with Pastor Dennis Continued page 4

History of Sand Creek Baptist Church In 2001 the Lord laid a burden to plant a church on the heart of two pastors in Prior Lake MN. During that time Pastor Daniel Lowe and his wife Deborah were praying about planting a church in the suburbs of the Twin cities metro area as well. In January of 2003 Pastor Daniel met Pastor Ronald Groschel. When Daniel shared his burden with Pastor Groschel they were both excited about the prospect of working together to see this accomplished. They prayed for wisdom and God directed Pastor Daniel to move to Prior Lake in 2004.

Pastor Daniel worked under the ministry of Prior Lake Baptist Church (PLBC). In the Fall of 2004 and Spring of 2005 several families were holding a Bible Study in Jordan, MN. Pastor Daniel began demographic work on the South Metro area. During that same time a church planting committee was formed. A lot of work went into the details of organizing the church. In November of 2005 Pastor Daniel and his family were accepted as church planting missionaries under the leadership of Gospel Fellowship Association (GFA). With the help of PLBC, GFA, the

Minnesota Baptist Assoc i a t i o n (MBA) and other individuals the church was able to start meeting in April of 2006. The first services were held in the fireside room at Prior Lake Baptist Church. A commissioning banquet was held on May 6, 2006 at PLBC. The commissioning service was held at PLBC on May 7, 2006. PLBC Continued page 4

Sand Creek History, continued from page 3 gave a communion set to SCBC as a very special gift which will be remembered for many years. The people of SCBC prepared a 5 thousand piece mailing. This produced many visitors in the first few months. Sand Creek Baptist held their first service on May 14, 2006. Within the first year the church

grew from 45 regular attendees to an average of 70 in attendance. Two important ministries were started in 2007: the Sunday School and Adult Bible Fellowship ministries in March, and the evangelism ministry in April. About 18 new members have joined the church since it started. In February of this year

Sand Creek Baptist Church started overseeing its own finances. A Charter Service was held February 10. In March the church voted to become a part of the MBA. God has used many individuals in this ministry and we look forward to His continued work in this ministry.
