This year A&M-SA launched the Career READY Program, which allows students to utilize their Federal Work Study award to receive a market-wage for off-campus employment. Organizations included: Momentum Physical Therapy, the San Antonio Food Bank, the San Antonio Police Department, House of Neighborly Service, Ascension DePaul Services, Saddle Light Center, MixFit SA, disABILITYsa, several area school districts, and many more!
"All essential workers have made many sacrifices in the last months. I have been a student teacher since August, and I have the utmost respect for teachers. This semester has been unpredictable and challenging, but it has also been an eye-opening experience and one that I will remember forever."

More students are utilizing this tool than ever before! The transcript tracks the experience a student is gaining while at A&M-SA. Students can then showcase their experience on a resume.
This year we launched Mission: Future, a workforce development program aimed at working with individuals in the community in the areas of career exploration and advancement, financial literacy, and CliftonStrengths.
C2C ENGAGED 5,862 VIEWS Student interns created videos about A&M-SA employees and their career journey for the SA Works High School Job Shadow Day, an annual city-wide event that was hosted in virtual format. Videos garnered a total of 5862 views across 52 high schools.
Victoria started in Spring 2020 with Chromosome 18 Registry and Research Society as part of the C2C Engaged program. Victoria set a goal to learn more about becoming a CPA. Victoria used the opportunity to look at professional CPA organizations, where she discovered the A&M-SA branch of a national CPA organization and now holds the position of secretary.
VIRTUAL EXTERNSHIPS This new innovation on the traditional externship experience brought Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union leaders and students together in a virtual space for networking, learning, and understanding the employer perspective on hiring. Students gained insights on the company and learned about networking in the virtual space.

EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING Mays Center staff coordinated seven projects and partnerships for experiential learning classes with organizations including: Alzheimer's Association, SAMMinistries, Black Stallion Boxing Plus, TelResource, and Girls on the Run. Some of the projects included developing a social media plan and marketing opportunities for new initiatives in response to closures and the need to innovate during the COVID-19 pandemic.
A series of 2 workshops, How to Start a Virtual Internship and How to Manage Interns Virtually, is given once a semester in partnership with the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). This program averages 2-6 area small business owners per session. This partnership with UTSA and Small Business Development Center (SBDC) has contributed to community outreach and internship opportunity development.
$1,500 FELLOWSHIP Developed an Experiential Learning Fellowship to allow non-work authorized students to gain experience through an on-campus project of their choosing with guidance from a professional mentor.
