PARTNERSHIP OUTREACH PSG Celebrates Open House

ZEST FOR LIFE! MOE-OBS Challenge Programme Our Secondary 3 students embarked on a 5day, 4-night outdoor adventure camp as part of the MOE-OBS Challenge (MOC) Programme. This took place from the 21st to the 25th of July 2025. The majority of them experienced the MOC at the Punggol and Ubin campuses, while one group had the unique opportunity to explore the East Coast campus.

On the first day, everyone gathered under the Indoor Sports Hall (ISH), eager to experience the programme ahead. Despite the morning shower, spirits were high as they went to the different campuses and met students from two partner schools – Northlight and Temasek Junior College.

Students took part in a variety of expeditions – both land-based and waterbased over the next four days. Be it hiking, sailing, kayaking or rafting, the experience proved to be a challenging one which took many of them out of their comfort zones.

Nevertheless, our students showed their resilience as they went on to complete their expeditions. Besides the expeditions, they also took part in high elements and even cooked their own meals. These activities not only tested their physical endurance but also nurtured a spirit of resilience and teamwork.

Indeed, this camp was more than just an escape from the familiar comforts of home it was an unforgettable journey of selfdiscovery and resilience, leaving a lasting impact on every student. It was a truly tired but happy lot of students who finally returned to school on the last day of the MOC. Well done Sec 3s!

ZEST FOR LIFE! Sec 1 Level Camp Our Secondary 1 Mayflowerians completed their Adventure Camp at NS Home Team Bukit Batok from 22-25 July.

Their activities included outdoor cooking challenges, low elements, hiking and dragon-boating. The highlight of the camp was the Campfire, where all classes showcased their talents through various performances.

The activities required the students to work together, and Mayflowerians had fun bonding with their classmates, Form Teachers and mentors.

Fourteen best campers were identified at the end of the camp. 1J emerged as the Best Class, having attained the highest points throughout the camp.

ZEST FOR LIFE! Sec 1 Level Bonding Flying High Together: A Day of Fun and Friendship for Sec 1 Students To wrap up an exciting year, our Secondary 1 students enjoyed a fun-filled day at Marina Barrage!

The event was all about strengthening friendships, building a sense of belonging and celebrating how much everyone had grown over the past year.

Students spent the morning sharing food, laughter and stories during a relaxing class picnic, followed by a lively kite-flying session under the open sky. Watching the kites soar high above the Barrage made the day even more special! It was a perfect symbol of their hopes and dreams taking flight. The outing was not just about fun - it was also a meaningful way for everyone to connect, unwind and reflect on their first year of secondary school. It was truly a memorable day that brought smiles, teamwork and lasting memories!

ZEST FOR LIFE! Sec 2 Milestone Celebration On 23 October, our Sec 2 cohort bade farewell to lower secondary life as they prepared to embark on their next milestone.

The day began with Unity Quest, where classes raced through joyful challenges— proving that when unique talents come together with true teamwork, the results are pure magic.

In the afternoon, the Milestone Ceremony glowed with gratitude. Students thanked their teachers, shared cherished memories, and proudly placed their Autograph Books into a time capsule, which will be opened during their Graduation Ceremony in 2027.

Teachers also offered cupcakes and heartfelt well-wishes for the journey ahead.

It was a beautiful and unforgettable celebration for the Class of 2027.

ZEST FOR LIFE! CCA Achievements The C Division Basketball boys have been training with passion and worked tirelessly towards their goal of promotion to League 3 of the National School Games (NSG).

The boys put their training to the test during the league matches, not just winning but improving by leaps and bounds with each match.

Literary and Oratorical Club Congratulations to the following students: Okus Foo Xu Kang - 1B 1st in the #YouthAgainstScams Video Competition

After achieving promotion, they adjusted their target to winning the League 4 NSG. While things did not go well in the SemiFinals, our boys bounced back from defeat to beat Yuan Ching Secondary School in the 3rd/4th placing to finish 3rd. Well done!

ZEST FOR LIFE! National Day Celebrations Mayflowerians gathered in the hall on 8th August to celebrate Singapore’s 60th Birthday. The festivities began with a solemn march-in and ceremony by contingents from the school’s NCC, NPCC and Scouts CCAs. This was followed by the singing of the National Anthem, recitation of the National Pledge and the Recollections segment by students to reminisce about the difficulties and hardships faced by our forefathers.

This was followed by a concert featuring performances by the NCC with their Fancy Drill showcase, the Concert Band performing familiar NDP songs and dance performances by the Modern Dance and Chinese Dance CCAs. In addition, there was also a sing-along session and quiz to test the students’ knowledge on all things National Day.

ZEST FOR LIFE! Lunchtime Concert & Mayflower’s Got Talent!

The annual Lunchtime Concert and Mayflower’s Got Talent (MFGT) are two eagerly awaited school programmes that showcase the diverse talents of Mayflowerians aside from their usual academic and CCA activities. This year’s items included new acts like stand-up comedy, dance with live instrumental accompaniment and even wushu demonstrations aside from the regular singing, guitar and percussion performances.

These two programmes are more than just talent showcases - they are a testament to the school’s commitment in nurturing critical and creative thinking through arts education.

As the students demonstrate their talents on stage, they also develop confidence, perseverance and an appreciation for the beauty around them to be spirited, positive individuals with a Zest for Life!

It was a magical day as Mayflowerians came together to celebrate and show appreciation for all school staff. Teachers started the morning with a delightful breakfast, fun exercise, games, and heartfelt affirmation notes. Meanwhile, students prepared a thoughtful gift — “The Magic Mirror” — and decorated their classrooms with colourful wishes and thank-you messages.

The whole school then came together for the Earn Your Smile exercise, highlighting the importance of a healthy body and mind.

The celebration concluded with a heartwarming concert featuring Mightee, a student starting his school journey.

Feeling unsure at first, he meets Disney characters like Mickey Mouse, Mulan, and the High School Musical crew who inspire him to find courage, friendship, and resilience — reminding everyone that we grow stronger when we believe in ourselves and others.

Graduation Ceremony The Graduation Ceremony on 26 September marked an important milestone for our Sec 4 students as they concluded their four-year journey in Mayflower and prepared for their national examinations. The simple yet heartfelt programme honoured their growth, resilience and shared memories.

This year’s ceremony featured specially curated reflection videos, along with surprise awards presented to form teachers in appreciation of their care and guidance. It was a warm and meaningful send-off for the Class of 2025.

2025 at M Hotel, marking a meaningful milestone as our Sec 4 students celebrated the completion of their secondary school journey and prepared for the next chapter ahead. Anchored on the theme Leaving a Legacy, Finding a New Beginning, the evening was filled with elegance, heartfelt moments, and shared memories that will stay with the cohort for years to come.

More than just a celebration, the night provided students with a platform to grow in confidence—dressing with pride, carrying themselves with poise, and embracing the best versions of who they are becoming. It was also an opportunity for them to discover new facets of themselves beyond the familiar school environment, a reminder that they are ready to step into the wider world with courage, optimism, and purpose.

ZEST FOR LIFE! Trip to Hong Kong - Performing Arts The trip aims to develop students’ global and cross-cultural literacy through school exchanges, cultural immersion, and authentic learning experiences. It also strengthens national education by broadening perspectives and deepening appreciation of Singapore’s strengths, while building character and 21st-century competencies such as teamwork, resilience, and responsible decision-making. Exposure to best practices in education and the arts further inspires creativity and fresh perspectives.

Students reached for the stars at the Hong Kong Space Museum, where an immersive dome show ignited curiosity about space exploration beyond the classroom.

Students enjoyed sweeping views from Victoria Peak, reflecting on Hong Kong’s urban development and rise as a global metropolis.

At Fukien Secondary School, students engaged with local peers, sharing learning experiences and building cross-cultural friendships between Singapore and Hong Kong.

Students visited Tai-O Fishing Village, experiencing traditional fishing practices and learning about coastal conservation.

At Disneyland’s Youth Education Series, students explored global perspectives through collaboration and gained insights into the professional skills behind Disney’s worldrenowned hospitality.

Students watched The Play That Goes Wrong, experiencing Hong Kong’s theatrical creativity and cross-cultural performing arts.

Students mastered dim sum making in Hong Kong, discovering cultural differences in culinary traditions.

ZEST FOR LIFE! STEM & Cultural Immersion Programme to Shenzhen Twenty-four students led by the Science department embarked on a five-day STEM and Cultural Immersion Programme to Shenzhen to explore its rich history and culture, and to immerse themselves in the city’s STEM driven technological and educational advancements which has fueled the city’s rapid growth into a global technology hub it is known for today.

The first day saw the students and teachers make a quick stop at Nantou Ancient City, where they learnt about the rich history of the town that eventually grew into the modern metropolis of Shenzhen and got a glimpse of how the county magistrate would have handled the daily affairs of the area.

The next day, the group went for their school exchange with Qianhai Guiwan School, where they interacted with their peers from Shenzhen and experienced firsthand how Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) form the core of the school’s curriculum. This was followed by a visit to the Splendid China Folk Village, where they got a rich dose of Chinese culture and history. The evening ended at the Window Of The World, where they saw how entrepreneurship and technology went hand-in-hand to modernise an otherwise traditional theme park.

The final leg of the trip was to the Shenzhen Museum, Freshippo Supermarket and Dong Men Street, where the group was able to immerse themselves in the local history and culture, which is always intertwined with tech development.

The visits to DJI’s Headquarters and BYD’s Skyshuttle facility were the highlights of the trip. At DJI, the group learnt how the company innovated and modernised traditional drone technology to become the global leader in unmanned aerial vehicles.

They also got to try out the robotic vehicles from the company’s Robomaster competitions. At the Skyshuttle, the group learnt how technology-driven automation led to the development of the guideway transit. The evening ended with a visit to the Civic Centre for the Animated Light Show.

ZEST FOR LIFE! Humanities Trip to Ho Chi Minh City 5D4N Humanities Learning Journey to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam At Pathway School – Phuoc Binh Campus, students engaged in a vibrant cultural exchange, participating in classroom activities and interacting with local students to better appreciate similarities and differences in school life.

During the Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) tour, students asked thoughtful questions about industrial development and foreign investment, deepening their understanding of economic cooperation between Singapore and Vietnam. Their visits to the War Remnants Museum and the Secret Weapon Bunker further enriched their perspectives on the impact of conflict and the resilience of the Vietnamese people.

A stop at Ben Thanh Market allowed students to observe local commerce and practise their social and communication skills.

Students also took part in a hands-on cooking class at the Cu Chi Agriculture Village before exploring the Cu Chi Tunnels, where they learned about survival strategies and the historical significance of the site. At Thien Duyen Orphanage, students applied their budgeting skills to purchase essential items for the children, fostering empathy and social responsibility.

The Mekong Delta tour offered an opportunity to see rural livelihoods and visit local workshops to understand traditional crafts. Students also toured the Central Post Office, appreciating its architectural and historical value. Their final learning stop was at MNC SingShiok under L’Earth Vietnam JSC, where they observed real-world examples of crossborder collaboration in food innovation, sustainable packaging and retail distribution. This visit highlighted how Singaporean and Vietnamese businesses work together while upholding international standards of safety and sustainability.

ZEST FOR LIFE! Overseas Trip Pattaya - Uniform Groups Twenty-seven Secondary Three students from the school’s uniformed groups and clubs, accompanied by four teachers, embarked on an overseas learning journey to Pattaya, Thailand as part of a cultural exchange programme. The journey began with students purchasing essential supplies for donation to a local orphanage.

Rather than handing over pre-packed items, students were actively involved in decision-making, budgeting, and selecting the most appropriate supplies. This handson experience laid a strong foundation for the service-learning interactions that followed.

Students subsequently visited the orphanage, where they participated in making Loy Krathong floats and celebrated the local festival together with the children. Celebrating this cultural event alongside the orphans provided students with meaningful opportunities for cultural immersion and human connection. They later accompanied the children on an excursion to the Pattaya Sheep Farm, where students demonstrated patience, empathy, and effective communication as they guided, played with, and cared for the younger children.

Through these interactions, students gained firsthand insight into responsibility, teamwork, and caregiving.

To deepen their understanding of realworld social issues, students also visited an anti-human trafficking and child abuse centre, where they interacted with rescued children. This experience broadened their awareness of regional challenges and underscored the importance of vigilance, compassion, and advocacy.

In addition, students visited Pattaya City School 3, where they participated in a Scout exchange programme.

This exchange provided an authentic platform for cross-cultural interaction, allowing students to build friendships, exchange practices, and gain insights into the similarities and differences between schooling experiences in Singapore and Thailand.

CURIOUS MIND Science Enrichment This year, our students embarked on a vibrant series of science enrichment activities that deepened their learning beyond the classroom and nurtured curiosity about the world around them.

February: Taking Flight with Physics To kick off the year, our Sec 4F Physics and Sec 4B Science students visited iFly Singapore, where they experienced indoor skydiving.

Through this exhilarating activity, students observed physics principles—such as air resistance, terminal velocity, and forces—in action. The session provided a memorable and highly engaging platform for connecting classroom learning with real-life phenomena.

April: Exploring Sustainability & the Environment, an interdisciplinary project with the Geography Unit

Our Sec 1 students kicked off the year with an interdisciplinary Learning Journey to Bishan–Ang Mo Kio Park, where they investigated real-world water quality issues. Applying scientific concepts from their filtration unit, students conducted onsite tests and reflected on how urban waterways are managed sustainably.

CURIOUS MIND Growth Mindset Workshop Secondary One Mayflowerians attended the Growth Mindset Workshop on 2nd July 2025.

Through the workshop, we hope to help our Mayflowerians to develop resilience, embrace challenges, and cultivate a positive learning attitude. The workshop combines a variety of experiential activities with practical application.

Mayflowerians were particularly engaged in two activities, namely “Labels” and “Price is Right”. During the "Labels" activity, Mayflowerians wrote down their limiting beliefs on sticky notes before tearing them away - literally letting go of emotional baggage that holds them back.

Subsequently, the engaging "Price is Right" auction reminded Mayflowerians that everyone possesses hidden potential waiting to be discovered.

The "Power of Yet" was also reinforced by getting students to transform negative self-talk by adding one simple word, reframing "I can't" statements into growth opportunities.

Mayflowerians applied what they had learnt during the workshop with SMART goal setting by working on concrete action plans. Students posted their individual SMART goals and collectively consolidated their individual goals into Class Goals.

At the end of the workshop, Mayflowerians shared that they are more confident in achieving their goals and recognized the importance of creating new habits to achieve their goals. They also learnt to be open-minded and not to feel dejected when they fail.

CURIOUS MIND Sec 1 Comic Strip Workshop In this dynamic comic-creation session, Secondary 1 students discovered the key elements that bring comics to life, from panels and speech bubbles to expressive visual storytelling. They explored how text and pictures work together to shape meaning, strengthening their creative writing and representation skills. Guided activities encouraged learners to experiment with ideas, characters, and visual sequences before crafting their own original comic strips.

Students reflected enthusiastically on the experience, noting how combining words with images made storytelling “more fun and expressive,” and how creating a comic “helped ideas flow more easily.” The session sparked confidence, creativity, and joyful learning.

CURIOUS MIND Sec 2 Career Exploration Week From 22 to 24 July 2025, the Secondary 2 cohort participated in the Applied Learning Modules (ApLMs), a programme designed to extend learning beyond the classroom and cater to students’ varied interests.

The objectives of the ApLMs are for students to: Broaden the learning experiences of students and provide for their varied learning needs, Apply their learning and creativity in a mini project/showcase on the final day, Discover and explore their passions and interests in relation to their aspirations, and Apply their knowledge learned from the module, its nature of work, and the relevant industry to make informed decisions regarding their postsecondary education and career options and plans.

During the Career Guidance Workshop on 25 July, students explored their personal interests, strengths, and values through hands-on and reflective activities. They applied basic decision-making skills while engaging with career-related game scenarios and learned to make informed choices about their upper secondary subject combinations, understanding how these decisions shape their future career Students selected one of four modules — pathways.

CURIOUS MIND Sec 3 Graffiti Workshop The Graffiti Creation programme for our Secondary Three Normal Technical EL students immersed them in the creative world of graffiti while encouraging thoughtful connections to society, law and justice, and school community values. Across the four one-hour sessions, learners developed personal concepts, refined sketches, and created a graffiti-inspired artwork that communicated a meaningful message. They wrote an artist statement explaining their visual choices and presented their work with subject-specific vocabulary.

Students reflected that the experience was both useful and inspiring, helping them express ideas they had never explored through art before.

CURIOUS MIND Celebrating Students’ Passion in MTL

In Semester Two, the Mother Tongue Language Department saw students participate actively in national competitions. Malay Language students competed in the Word Forming and Debate competitions, with Dyan Nurqasdina (2D) earning Best Speaker. Chinese Language students also represented the school in the National Chinese Poetry and Oratorical Competitions.

Chinese Language students achieved commendable results across several competitions. They received honourable mentions in the Script It Right Chinese Radio Drama Script Writing Competition, clinched a bronze award and multiple gold and commendation awards at the National Text Recital Competition, and earned an Outstanding Award at the National Student Chinese-English Translation Competition. We celebrate the dedication and passion of all our Mother Tongue Language learners.

Learning with EL Master Teacher In Semester 2, the MF English Department implemented blended learning strategies using SAFA and SALIS on the Student Learning Space (SLS) to deepen student engagement. Working in Professional Learning Teams, two technology-enhanced lesson packages were developed in collaboration with Master Teacher Solastri, with a focus on effective use of AI in teaching and learning.

At the lower secondary level, AI was used to enrich vocabulary through narrative process writing, while upper secondary students used SAFA to strengthen annotation and comprehension skills. The professional learning sessions focused on refining questioning techniques and feedback prompts to promote student engagement and self-directed learning The learning was indeed rich and intense for the teachers. The collaboration with Master Teacher has indeed led to a better understanding of what teachers need to bear in mind in foregrounding effective questioning techniques and using technology (SAFA & AFA) as a leveraging tool so that students can benefit from immediate, specific feedback.

At the same time, teachers have also gained increased confidence in integrating SLS tools effectively to facilitate a blend of online and in-class learning experiences.

CURIOUS MIND MOE Teachers’ Conference and ExCEL Fest TCEF Workshop WS035: Fostering Students’ Intrinsic Motivation in STEM Through Appealing Maker Projects Conducted on 5 June 2025, the workshop offered participants an engaging, hands-on session led by Senior Teacher Tan Kok Meng from Mayflower Secondary School. The workshop demonstrated how joyful, meaningful maker experiences can spark students’ intrinsic motivation in STEM. Educators experienced the RAP pedagogical approach (Relevance, Appeal, Personalisation) through a toy-making activity that illustrated how such projects can connect concepts across subject disciplines while centering students’ joy and ownership in learning. The session was well received and highlighted the impact of thoughtfully designed maker experiences on STEM engagement.

At the Teachers’ Conference Excel Fest 2025, the Mayflower Secondary School Mathematics team, comprising HOD Mr Nara, Ms Shen Sirui, Mr Nicholas Quek, Mdm Goh Poh Ling and Mdm Chelsea Yam, showcased our “Speak Good Mathematics!” initiative.

This initiative aims to nurture Future-ready Mathematical Thinkers by equipping students with Emerging 21st Century Competencies (E21CC). In response to evolving national examination demands, the department developed a Guaranteed Curriculum Map, supported by common notes and assessments with explanation questions.

These efforts ensure an engaging and enriching curriculum that strengthens students’ communication, reasoning, and confidence in Mathematics.

CURIOUS MIND SEAGA Regional Sustainability Conference Two of our teachers recently represented Singapore at a regional geography conference organised by the Southeast Asian Geography Association (SEAGA). The conference focused on sustainability and how countries in Southeast Asia can better manage environmental and socio-economic challenges in the future.

Mr Jeremy Ong shared how technology such as artificial intelligence can be used to support fieldwork and help students learn more deeply about sustainability issues in Singapore.

Ms Frances Ong presented a study on food security, using Indonesia’s 2024 rice crisis to show how countries can respond to real-world challenges.

Through the conference, our teachers learned from educators across Southeast Asia and brought back new ideas that will enrich students’ learning in the classroom.

The Mayflower History Unit was featured in Building on this curiosity, students Making History for its student-centred investigated the war’s origins through approach to the Korean War. Lessons began mapping tasks, source analysis and timeline with Mr Chen’s annual sharing on his visit to activities. They examined the roles of major North Korea. CURIOUS MIND Celebrating Students in Humanities Our lower secondary students demonstrated strong curiosity and initiative through several national-level competitions this semester.

In the Prove It Challenge, held in collaboration with members of the Literary & Oratorical Club, students investigated real-world issues in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.

Their thoughtful research and confident presentations earned Team 1 a Silver Award and Team 2 a Bronze Award.

Students also took part in the Historical Scene Investigation, where they examined how Singapore’s towns have transformed over time. Team A studied Clarke Quay while Team B explored Toa Payoh, comparing past and present developments.

CURIOUS MIND Year-End Staff Learning Journey & Retreat During our Staff Learning Day, teachers explored the URA Draft Masterplan Exhibition, SG60 Heart & Soul Experience, and You Tiao Man to gain real-world insights and broaden perspectives on the VUCA and BANI world.

The journey encouraged reflection on relevant knowledge and skills, highlighted diverse pathways in work and life, and inspired ways to make classroom learning more authentic. These experiences help nurture students’ future-ready values, dispositions, and competencies while supporting the school’s strategic planning.

The Staff Retreat began with a focus on nurturing a caring and enabling environment that supports the Mayflower Promise.

This was followed by a segment on Emerging 21st Century Competencies (E21CC), where staff deepened their understanding of what it means to intentionally plan for competency development in teaching and learning.

The retreat concluded with the Principal’s sharing on the school’s strategic plan focus areas, culminating in a gallery walk where staff collectively identified and prioritised the areas they felt were most important to focus on in the next phase of the school’s journey.

GENEROUS SPIRIT 24-Hour Challenge What If the UNSDGs Failed?

Student Leaders Rising to the Challenge What would the world look like in 2100 if the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) failed? That was the thought-provoking question explored in this year’s Student Leadership Programme, which brought together student leaders from Mayflower Secondary School, Anderson Secondary School, Yio Chu Kang Secondary School, Serangoon Secondary School, Raffles Institution, and Serangoon Garden Secondary School.

In an intensive 24-hour challenge, students applied Design Thinking and Zimmerman’s Self-Regulated Learning Model to strengthen their 21st-century competencies. Working across disciplines such as Art, D&T, Geography, and Science, they tackled pressing global issues like:

GENEROUS SPIRIT Racial Harmony Day with Special Guests!

This year’s Racial Harmony Day (RHD) celebration on 18 July was especially meaningful for Mayflower Secondary as we welcomed Minister for Education Mr Desmond Lee, Senior Ministers of State Mr David Neo and Dr Janil Puthucheary, and Minister of State Ms Jasmin Lau to join us in our activities.

With the theme “Our People, Our Tapestry,” students explored how different cultures come together to shape Singapore’s shared identity. The school buzzed with colour, creativity, and conversations as students participated in a wide range of activities.

Our guests joined students in: Viewing the “Woven Together As One” mural featuring student artwork and cultural stories Contributing to the “Bricks of Unity” installation that symbolised harmony and togetherness Visiting snack booths run by parent volunteers showcasing traditional treats Playing nostalgic games like chapteh, congkak, and five stones Sitting in CCE lessons where students reflected on values, friendships across cultures, and ways to strengthen social cohesion Their visit added a special touch to the celebration and sparked thoughtful discussions about empathy, respect, and unity.

Our Community Ambassadors had an inspiring and meaningful time at this year’s Purple Carnival, where they joined peers from Pathlight School and student leaders from Yio Chu Kang Secondary School and several other schools in championing the message of inclusion.

GENEROUS SPIRIT Sec 2 Student Leadership Training Camp Our Sec 2 student leaders embarked on a transformative 2D1N leadership training experience designed to strengthen their skills, deepen their purpose, and inspire them to lead with heart. Grounded in the Kouzes and Posner Leadership Challenge Model, students explored what it means to Model the Way, Inspire a Shared Vision, Challenge the Process, Enable Others to Act, and Encourage the Heart — five essential practices that shape authentic and effective leaders.

Beyond the school grounds, our leaders had the opportunity to learn from the wider community. At One Punggol, they observed inclusive features and thoughtful design elements that promote accessibility, empathy, and belonging. This experience encouraged them to reflect on how they, too, can create inclusive spaces within their own school environment.

The visit to the One Millionth Citizen Exhibition offered valuable insights into the resilience and contributions of Singapore’s pioneers. Their stories of courage, unity, and service inspired our leaders to carry forward these values as culture builders in Mayflower Secondary School.

Over two days, our Sec 2 leaders strengthened their confidence, connected with their peers, and envisioned how they can positively shape the school community.

Equipped with new perspectives and leadership tools, they are ready to step up, serve with purpose, and make a meaningful impact.

Our Student Leaders’ Retreat this year brought together over 120 student leaders across the various leadership groups for a day of meaningful reflection, bonding, and forwardplanning. Anchored on the theme “IMPACTING TODAY, INSPIRING TOMORROW,” the retreat focused on nurturing leaders who embody the Mayflower Promise—demonstrating a Zest for Life, Curious Mind, and Generous Spirit in all they do.

🔍 Deep Reflections Through Group Sharing

One highlight of the retreat was the rich conversations during group sharing. Student leaders reflected on their learning experiences from both school and community settings, sharing stories of challenges, discoveries, and personal growth. These candid exchanges helped them recognise how everyday actions— big or small—shape the culture of care and excellence within Mayflower.

🎯 Envisioning Growth with the WOOP Framework

To empower leaders to take purposeful action, students were guided through the WOOP Framework (Wish, Outcome, Obstacle, Plan).

This evidence-based strategy helped each leader articulate a personal leadership wish, visualise the desired outcome, identify internal and external obstacles, and commit to practical steps forward. For many, this process provided clarity and renewed motivation to influence their peers positively and meaningfully in the year ahead.

We Stand For A key segment of the retreat focused on selfdiscovery. Student leaders explored their own personality traits, strengths, leadership characteristics, and areas for growth. Through guided activities, they also revisited their roles and responsibilities as Mayflower student leaders.

This introspective process strengthened their awareness of who they are, how they lead, and how they can better serve their peers.

We were thrilled to celebrate the dedication of our Parent Support Group (PSG) recently on 15th November 2025.

The reflections by Mr Raymond Tan and Mdm Gina Lai on their journey as parents and PSG members filled the room with warmth and laughter, making it a truly special afternoon.

The one hour event was a wonderful opportunity for the school to express our gratitude for their tireless efforts in enriching our school community.

With their passion and commitment, the PSG has indeed fostered a supportive environment that benefits all students.

MAYFLOWER OPEN HOUSE Stepping Into Tomorrow Together Our Step Into Tomorrow Open House on 15 November 2025 was a tremendous success, drawing a large crowd of parents and Primary 6 students to our campus.

Across the campus, visitors experienced the Mayflower Promise come alive, through joyful, hands-on learning at department booths, spirited CCA showcases, displays of students’ voices, and the strong sense of community that defines Mayflower.

Families were welcomed by our confident Sec 1 Ambassadors, who led personalised tours and shared genuine stories of student life. The new Pathway Card allowed guests to curate their own experience, from exploring Academic and CCA Booths to engaging in heartfelt conversations at our first-ever Living Library, featuring our Principal, teachers, alumni, Special Education officers, PSG members and ECG booth.

Popular features included the Alumni Aspirations Wall, VIA exhibits, and photo spots with Mightee.

Parents praised the confidence of our students, the warmth of our staff, and the vibrant, future-ready learning culture they witnessed.

A big thank you to all staff, students, PSG members, and alumni who made this year’s Open House such a meaningful and memorable celebration of who we are as a school.
