ROTARACT CLUB Novi Sad "Wellspring „Neven“

GOAL: Rebuild wellspring Fruška gora In cooperation with Environment engineering group and National Park Fruška gora, we have rebuilt the wellspring "Neven" on Fruška gora mountain. Water is the source of life and the determining factor of health. Due to a number of climate change and pollution generated by human activities, the quality and availability of drinking water is threatened. World experts have agreed that by 2025. year, two thirds of humanity felt a serious lack of water. A few media was present in opening. After opening, we enjoyed in wellspring, friendship and grill. If anyone invest just a small effort to preserve water resources that we have a future in which we threatened shortage of water may be different.

ROTARACT CLUB Novi Sad Mamaract 2012

Čortanovci The main goal of our Mamaract, as it is called, is to bring our mothers together and also carry out an action in a fun and different way. We decided to have this event on a beautiful and hot Saturday. The host was one of the mothers of two of our club’s members, and it was a lovely and fun experience. The mothers gathered up at around 5pm, everyone brought some kind of delicious homemade dish and lots of different supplies and materials for the children in Becej, which we regularly visit at their school. During our last visit, the teachers told us that the children are running out of school supplies and that their parents were unable to afford them, so we decided that this would be a great opportunity for our mothers to help out. The children will recieve notebooks, pencils, books and all the other supplies we prepared for them in September, when their new school year starts.

June 2012.
GOAL: Education of parents and their children about dental hygiene Kindergarten “Radosno detinjstvo” On March 29th in 2012. members of our club made a team which is made by students on third year of dentistry studies and had gone to several kindergartens “Radosno detinjstvo,” there the team presented the importance of children dental hygiene to parents of children between one to seven years old. The action was successful, parents were educated about dental hygiene in that age. Memebers of our club will continue with this kind of education and we are hoping that actions like this will be as successful as this one.

GOAL: donation of presents for the children, education of volonteeres and parents about dental higyene for chindren with cancer Parenting house for children with cancer On June 8th in 2012. members of Rotaract club Novi Sad made a visit to the parenting house for children with cancer in Sremska Kamenica, there one team presented the importance of dental hygiene in children with malignant desease to parents and volonteeres, while the other played with children and gave them gifts. The action was successful, parents were educated about dental hygiene . Memebers of our club will continue with this kind of education and we are hoping that actions like this will be as successful as this one.

June 2012.
GOAL: Awarding the best pupils from school „Bratstvo“ Becej Rotaract Club Novi Sad after 10 years of dedicated work with socal indangered children that go to Primary school „Bratstvo“ from Becej, has decided to also continue cooperation with High school „Bratstvo“ from Becej. Our goal was to award the best pupils with clothes for their prome night. Jelena and Milan have grades above 4.60 wich made them an ideal candidates for these awards. In the upcoming months there are going to be a lot work done. We will keep you posted

GOAL: Celebration Novi Sad We marked 15 years since the first charter celebration. The ceremony was held in presence of more than 80 guests from Rotaract and Rotary clubs. Many good people have gone through our club and everyone had left part of himself in it. Since its foundation to this day, the members of our club have organized more than 200 projects, visited a lot of international meetengs and conferences and become famous of our international project that is organised every year, with great support of our sponsor Rotary Club of Novi Sad. Because of that, all current members have a great responsibility to continue with activities and to preserve what was built during the past 15 years.

GOAL: Twinning ceremony Novi Sad On 8th of June, members of our two clubs gathered to sign an agreement of twinning. This agreement marked our previous friendship and work and also all mutual activities that are comming. This ceremony was held before RTC Novi Sad Charter celebration, and more than 80 guest was present. Just day after twinning, we participated together in Food Contest which was organized by Rotary Club Novi Sad Dunav.

GOAL: Fund raising for water springs on Fruska Gora Novi Sad, Štrand Rotaract Club of Novi Sad participated in annual Food Contest, organized by Rotary Club Novi Sad - Dunav. This year's goal was to collect funds to repair damaged water springs on Fruska Gora mountain, on main hiking trails. RAC Novi Sad participated with two teams, both preparing delicious meals, but this year without winning luck. At the end we had a great day under the sun, with a lot of great food and beverages, with friends and a lot of fun.

GOAL: Enchansing retirement home library Futog This was our first contact with retirement home in Futog, near Novi Sad. We want to make some long term relations with this facility and we thought that this would be a good icebreaker. We donated few boxes of old used book to enchanse their library, which was poorly equipped. We hope that we will cooperate with them more often in the future.

Pancevo June 5th World Environment Day -

Goal: Awaking children’s awareness of the importance of responsible environmental behavior The city beach-Tamis quay, Pančevo This year, as well as the previous two, Rotaract Club Pančevo organized an event at the city beach on the Tamis quay on the occasion of June 5th, World Environment Day. The goal was to educate and incite children to act out creatively to the subject of the Environment, building awareness of the importance of responsible environmental behavior. Second grade elementary pupils from "Jovan Jovanović Zmaj" and "Stevica Jovanović" elementary schools from Pančevo were devided into three workshops (painting, drama and sculpture) giving everyone a chance to contribute within their own interests. Their works as well as a short recording from the drama workshop were shown at an exhibition at the Chidren’s Cultural Centre in Pančevo.

Pancevo Clothes for "Spomenak"

A home for children without legal guardians "Spomenak", Pančevo In a joined action by Rotaract Club Belgrade and Rotaract Club Pancevo, on Thursday 28.06.2012. we gathered clothes and took them to the children without legal guardians from “Spomenak” We used this opportunity to spend some “quality time” with the children staying in “Spomenak”, getting to know how they spend their time in the home, the activities they do in their spare time, such as sculpting and crafts. We also took time to consider possibilities for future cooperation, which is sure to come.

GOAL: spending time with children from Strelac Strelac Members of Rotaract Pirot went to Strelac, place where our yong friends live and go to school. We had great time, first they gave us big hug and kisses of welcome, they made small presents for us wich ment a lot of love . We gave them our presents.. and games can began.. we play all afternoon , sing, read and recite poems, talk, walk , play basketball. Words are meaningless , they cant described enough how precious is children smile and happines for our care and friendship that we gave that day.. That isnt first and for sure not last time for this big friendship between special children from this place where they live sometimes hard life

GOAL: Professional development of our members Regional Center for EducationIn accordance with the established goal of media promotion of the noble idea of Rotary and our club in the local community, RTC NKV organized a lecture related to the professional development of its members on the subject "Media appearance in six steps." The lecture was held by Ms. Ana Kražić-Zivkovic, a political scientist, journalist, PR and mother of our member Teodora Zivkovic. Lecture teaches us how to prepare for media appearances, how to maximize our time, deal with stage fright etc. The lecture was very interesting and instructive. We hope to implement it successfully and be worthy ambassadors of Rotaract whenever we appear in public media.

The lecturewas great, followed by anumber of questions"from the audience". Guest lecturerNikolaPetrovicpromised Rotaractors to hold a few moreinteresting presentations.

GOAL: Celebration Regent club It is tradition in Rotary to hold aceremonialhandover ofduties at the endof each Rotarian year. RTC NKV organizes theevent together with their Sponsorand InteractClub. This year's ceremonywas heldin the beautiful setting of the RegentClub.Astraditional, the current presidentMilanMladenovicgave ashortspeechin which henotedthe successesandactivities of the club, thanked allmembersfor their helpin the workand actionsof the club. However, one memberstood outthis year, participated in all actionsof the clubandattendedmost of theperformances-MarijaPerovic, the incoming club Secretary, was deservedlyawarded the "Member of the Year". After giving small giftsto membersof the Board, MilanMladenovic handed the presidential badge to the incomingPresidentMarkoStanojevic,who, amongother things,said he hopedthat the NKV family would togethersuccessfullypromotethe noble idea ofRotaryand honorablename ofConstantine.Marko, apart from the badge, got anothervaluable gift. In fact, IvanStevanovic, CharterPresident ofRTC NKV andmember of theRC donated the Rotarian bell to his formerClub. After the celebrationattheRegentClub, members of RTKNKV have traditionallycontinued celebrating at the cafeSaloon, wherethey were joined bythe incomingPresident ofRotaryClubLjubisaZdravkovićwith his familyandPresident of theInteractClubNatalijaTomic. On that occasion,we also celebratedbirthdayof ourmemberTheodora, and the successfulentrance examination for Sasha, Alexandra, Alexa and Milica. Celebration along thephenomenalbandPopHercKarolasteduntil the latemorning hours.

Allow yourself a great tasting, refreshing, and healthy treat with watermelon Inspite the usual notion about watermelons, they are just water with taste, harmless, but not a good choice for nutritional value, the watermelons have the most nutrition per calorie of common foods. Besides, they are actually among the fifteen most clean of non-organic fruits and vegetables. Low in calories watermelon is an excellent source of Vitamin C, which a major antioxidant. It contains also a high beta carotene concentration, thus offering a fair amount of vitamin A as well. Both of them help support good eyesight and may prevent glaucoma, various cancers and heart disease, arthritis symptoms and minimize asthmatic breathing problems. A surprise nutrient is vitamin B, especially B1 (thiamine) and B6 (pyridoxine). Thiamine is important for maintaining electrolytes and nervous system signal transmissions while pyridoxine is essential for enzymatic functions. The meat or pulp of watermelons is usually pink or red. Those colors indicate the highest content of lycopene, an antioxidant which protective against prostate cancer, breast cancer, endometrial cancer, lung cancer and colorectal cancer (from the Worlds' Healthiest Foods website)". There are the minerals, such as potassium and magnesium, which watermelons also offer abundantly. Potassium is important for cardiovascular health and brain health and helps the kidneys eliminate kidney stones. Magnesium deficiencies are directly or indirectly related to irritability, tension, sleep disorders, muscular cramping and heart attacks.Deeper red/pink watermelon is better. Watermelons don't lose as much nutritional value cut and stored in the fridge as most other produce. But it's wise to pull the piece out long enough for it to go to room temperature.
