LA CULTURA CONDIVISA Di una cosa, certamente, non possiamo fare a meno: la cultura. In qualunque campo, moda, editoria, impresa, scuola, sport, senza un diffuso e serio approccio culturale, non si va lontano. La storia ha dimostrato che quando un potere forte vuole affermarsi violentemente, la prima cosa che fa è mandare al rogo i libri che si oppongono alla sua visione di parte. Perché bruciare i libri? Perché sono il simbolo stesso della cultura, non intesa come un fatto elitario, da presidiare, ma una cultura che, per essere tale, può solo essere condivisa. Il libro, quindi, come simbolo di libertà e di rispetto delle persone, dei loro pensieri, ma anche rispetto per l’ambiente nel quale gli uomini vivono, tanto più che il termine stesso di libro deriva dal latino librum, la parte più interna della “corteccia”, il materiale inizialmente usato per scrivere i testi.

Da Gutenberg in poi, il libro e la stampa libera sono stati il fulcro della creatività, della scienza, della fantasia, della letteratura, della moda e di quanto la mente umana può produrre di nuovo e utile, riunendo attorno all’oggetto libro molte figure professionali, dallo stampatore all’editor, dall’art director al libraio, dall’addetto stampa al bibliotecario. Con l’avvento del web molto è cambiato, sia in meglio sia in peggio.

Si è sviluppata una maggiore sintesi ma anche minore rispetto nell’accettare idee contrarie alle proprie; una maggiore chiarezza, ma anche molta villania gratuita.

L’abbattimento delle barriere d’ingresso (un blog non si nega a nessuno, così come con uno smartphone in mano tutti sono giornalisti) ha creato una proliferazione di “autori” che prima di Internet non era pensabile: un vorticoso giro di testi, dove tutto diventa virale, veloce e immediato.

Rimane - però - immutato il dilemma di sempre: a cosa serve scrivere tanto se poi nessuno legge? Lo scorso anno sono stati pubblicati in Italia più di 60.000 libri. Non vi è ricerca che possa dire quanti di questi siano stati letti. I libri servono, ne siamo certi, ma servono anche i lettori.

Fate una ricerca personale: chiedete, a 50 persone che conoscete, quanti libri hanno letto negli ultimi 6 mesi, controllando che non mentano. Un mio amico ha deciso di non rivolgere più la parola a quanti non ne avessero letto neanche uno: non sa più con chi parlare. Essendo sempre solo, con tanto tempo libero, ha scritto un libro. Non ho il coraggio di dirgli che non lo leggerà neanche sua madre. Insomma, cercasi lettori.

SHARED CULTURE There is one thing that we most certainly cannot do without: culture. In any field, fashion, publishing, business, school, sports, without a widespread and serious cultural approach, no headway can be made.

History has proven that when a strong power wants to violently stake its claim, the first thing is to burn all the books that contest that one-sided vision. Why burn books? Because they are the very symbol of culture, not meant as an elitist fact, but in order for a culture to be a culture, it must be shared. Books, then, as a symbol of freedom and respect for persons, their thoughts, but also respect for the environment in which men live, the term itself for book derives from the Latin librum, the innermost part of the “bark”, the material initially utilized for writing words on.

From Gutenberg onwards, books and free press have been the fulcrum of creativity, science, fantasy, literature, fashion and all that the human mind can produce that is new and useful, gathering around the book object many professional figures, from the printer to the publisher, from the art director to the book seller, from the press contact to the librarian. Much has changed with the advent of the web, for better or for worse.

We have learned how to be more synthetic but with less respect in accepting ideas that do not coincide with ours; more clarity but also much gratuitous ignorance.

Eliminating entrance barriers (everyone is entitled to a blog, just like the smartphones all journalists carry) has created a proliferation of “authors” that prior to Internet was not even conceivable: a whirling round of texts, in which everything becomes viral, fast and immediate.

However, the dilemma is still the same as always: what is the purpose of writing so much if then no one reads? Last year more than 60,000 books were published in Italy. No statistics exist that can tell us how many of these books have been read. Books are necessary, we know, but so are readers.

Conduct your own research: ask fifty people you know, how many books they have read in the last six months, making sure they tell the truth. A friend of mine decided to stop talking to those who had not read even one book: he no longer knows who he can talk to. Always being alone, with lots of free time, he wrote a book. I’m afraid to tell him that not even his mother will read it. In short, looking for readers.

LUXURY NEWS CINEMA & MODA / LA MODA INCONTRA IL CINEMA I protagonisti degli scatti d'autore di questo numero di Luxury files magazine sono due giovani e talentuosi attori: Linda Caridi e Jacopo Venturiero.

Scopriamo qualcosa in più sui protagonisti.

LINDA CARIDI dopo la Scuola d’Arte Drammatica Paolo Grassi ha debuttato sul grande schermo da protagonista nel 2015 nel film Antonia, dove è la poetessa Antonia Pozzi. Ha partecipato nello stesso anno al film tv Lea e nel 2018 protagonista della pellicola Ricordi?, un successo di critica che le è valso il premio NuovoImaie Talent Award 2018 come attrice italiana emergente alle Giornate degli autori del Festival del Cinema di Venezia. In primavera arriva nelle sale con questa pellicola accanto a Luca Marinelli in una storia d'amore vissuta fra memoria ed emozioni, fra fiaba, nostalgia e realtà. E poi sarà protagonista nelle sale anche con Mamma + mamma presentato alla scorsa Festa del Cinema di Roma.

JACOPO VENTURIERO a 21 anni si diploma all'Accademia Nazionale D'Arte Drammatica Silvio D'Amico, studia il metodo mimico del Maestro Orazio Costa e si perfeziona con i Maestri Anatoli Vassil'ev e Jean-Paul Denizon. Dall'età di dieci anni lavora nel cinema e nelle più importanti serie tv.

In Teatro è impegnato in ruoli principali, al fianco di attori quali: Massimo Popolizio, Franco Branciaroli, Giorgio Albertazzi, Lina Sastri. Venturiero è anche doppiatore, collabora alla realizzazione di audiolibri ed ora è una delle super new entry della nota serie Suburra, in cui ricopre il ruolo di Adriano, un giovane speaker radiofonico di una radio locale della Roma.

Fashion and cinema can always be found on our pages, thanks to Fulvio Maiani’s sharp photographic eye. This time the location is in the heart of Rome, the Aldrovandi Palace, a veritable five-star resort just a few minutes from Villa Borghese. Let’s find out a bit more about them.

LINDA CARIDI - after the Scuola d’Arte Drammatica Paolo Grassi she made her first appearance in a movie in 2015 in Antonia, where sheplayed poetess Antonia Pozzi. That same year she participated in the TV film Lea and in 2018 starred in the movie Ricordi?, gaining critical success that earned her the award NuovoImaie Talent Award 2018 as emerging Italian actress at the Giornate degli autori Venice Film Festival.

This spring she will appear in a movie alongside Luca Marinelli in a love story about memories and emotions, hovering between fairytale, nostalgia and reality. And then she will also be seen in the movie Mamma + mamma presented at the last Rome Film Festival.

JACOPO VENTURIERO - at 21 he earned his diploma from the Accademia Nazionale D'Arte Drammatica Silvio D'Amico, studied mimics with Maestro Orazio Costaand perfected his skill with Maestri Anatoli Vassil'ev and Jean-Paul Denizon. He has worked in movies and in TV series from the age of ten. He has workedin theaters alongside Massimo Popolizio, Franco Branciaroli, Giorgio Albertazzi, Lina Sastri.

Venturieroalso lends his voice as a voice over actor, he collaborates in realizing audio-books and now is one of the super new entries in the well-known series Suburra, in which he plays Adriano, a young radio speaker with a local radio station in Rome.

LUXURY NEWS FASHION/ FERRAGAMO SUSTAINABLE THINKING A Firenze il 12 aprile, il Museo Salvatore Ferragamo inaugura Sustainable Thinking, un percorso narrativo che si snoda tra le pionieristiche intuizioni del Fondatore Salvatore Ferragamo nella ricerca sui materiali naturali e di riciclo oltre alle più recenti sperimentazioni in ambito green. Il progetto espositivo, ideato da Stefania Ricci, Direttore del Museo Salvatore Ferragamo e della Fondazione Ferragamo vuole fornire un contributo artistico-culturale sul tema cruciale della sostenibilità, intesa come “uno sviluppo che soddisfi i bisogni del presente senza compromettere la possibilità delle generazioni future di sopperire alle proprie necessità” citando il Rapporto Brundtland del 1987. Sustainable Thinking è una narrazione che sceglie di rivolgersi a un pubblico ampio, prendendosi l’onere e l’onore di innestare uno spunto di riflessione sul tema sempre più urgente e di attualità legato a una maggiore attenzione all’ambiente nel suo complesso, parlando con il linguaggio della moda, dell’arte e dei materiali. La mostra ospita opere di artisti e fashion designer internazionali che presentano la propria chiave di lettura sul recupero di un rapporto più meditato con la natura e la sua profonda relazione con la tecnica, l’impiego di materie organiche e il riuso creativo, fino a sottolineare l’importanza di un impegno collettivo, di un modo di pensare consapevole e condiviso.La sostanza materica diventa il fil-rouge dell’intera rappresentazione: l’itinerario ideale comincia dalla ricerca sui materiali condotta dal Fondatore Salvatore Ferragamo, a partire dagli anni venti del Novecento, tra canapa, cellofan e pelle di pesce, per poi esplorare le storie di materie di pregio che, giunte al termine della loro vita, vengono trasformate in prodotti di qualità, a rappresentazione concreta del concetto di economia circolare. La mostra sarà visitabile fino all'8 marzo 2020.

FERRAGAMO SUSTAINABLE THINKING The Salvatore Ferragamo Museum inaugurates Sustainable Thinking in Florence on April 12. The narrative exhbition takes visitors through the ground-breaking intuitions of the founder, Salvatore Ferragamo, to seek out natural materials and to recycle same, as well as the most recent “green” experiments. The project was developed by Stefania Ricci, Director of the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum. The Ferragamo Foundation intends to provide an artistic-cultural contribution on the crucial subject of sustainability, intended as “a development that meets the needs of the present while not compromising future generations in providing for their own needs” to cite the 1987 Brundtland Report. Sustainable Thinking is a narration aimed at a broad public, taking it upon itself to spark thoughts on this most urgent subject, linked to more attention to the environment in its entirety, using the language of fashion, art and materials. The exhibition displays works by international designers and artists who show their own versions of recuperating deeper feelings for nature and its relation with techniques, the use of organic mateials and creativity itself, underlining the importance of collective commitment, of a shared and knowledgeable way of thinking. Materials become the theme of the entire representation: the ideal itinerary commences with research on materials conducted by founder Salvatore Ferragamo, starting in the 1920s, amidst hemp, cellophane and fish skin, to later explore the history of precious materials that, at the end of their life-span, are transformed in quality products, representing in full the concept of circular economy. The exhibition will remain open until March 8, 2020.

Ha compiuto 40 anni questo locale nel cuore della Bassa Padana a pochi chilometri a sud di Mantova, pensato e voluto appunto da Romano Tamani e da suo fratello Carlo. Un tempio della cucina, certamente. Ma anche dell’accoglienza.

Entrare all’Ambasciata è come tuffarsi in un passato masempre vivo e presente, nonostante la sua pienezza barocca di oggetti, di richiami, di stoffe, di ceramiche, di libri, di lampadari, di mobili, di tappeti. E in questa pienezza si respira aria di casa, di famiglia, di focolare, di stirpe, che importa se blasonata o no. Tanti gli amici passati da questo luogo “goloso”: da Clara Agnelli con il conte Giovanni Nuvoletti Perdomini a Marta Marzotto, da Giulio Andreotti, Cesare Zavattini, Mario Monicelli, Alberto Bevilacqua a Carlo Rossella, Enrico Mentana, John Elkan fino addirittura al Santo Padre Giovanni Paolo II. A TEMPLE OF ITALIAN CUISINE “A magical place where day-to-day strife is forgotten…any anxious thoughts or worries are left behind.” These are the words Vittorio Sgarbi used to talk about L’AMBASCIATA DI QUISTELLO in the introduction to Roman Tamani’s book Diario di un lavapiatti di campagna. This restaurant in the heart of the Bassa Padana a few kilometers south of Mantua celebrated its 40th anniversary, conceived and opened by Romano Tamani and his brother Carlo. L’anatra mutacroccante al forno con patate e salsa allo Sherry, che passa attraverso tre cotture, per finire con lo zabaione che si dice inventato proprio da un cuoco dei Gonzaga, insieme ai dolci di cultura del Vicariato di Quistello. Dalla colazione del mattino con brioches, pane e tramezzini insieme a cappuccini e caffè, fino al possibile takeaway di specialità russe magari accostate a sapori italiani, e alla cena che, alla maniera dell’antica aristocrazia russa, ha come grandi protagonisti il caviale e lo champagne, meglio se Perrier Jouet. Il menu di Fëdor Bistrò offre, come detto, diverse e differenti soluzioni adatte a tutti i gusti.

Ci sono molte specialità fiorentine e toscane, dalle bruschette ai ricchi panini con salumi, formaggi e verdure.

A crearla sarebbe stato Lucien Olivier, chef belga al celebre ristorante Hermitage di Mosca. Luogo ideale per l’aperitivo di giorno o di sera nel dehoroppure ai tavoli interni dal fascino rétro, con eleganti e comode poltroncine e divanetti, grandi specchi, luce avvolgente.

Quest'edizione - inutile girarci intorno - senza la rosa di marchi del colosso Swatch Group è di certo un nuovo delicato capitolo nella storia di Baselworld. Il 2019 è un anno di transizione con un nuovo format. La Ref. 5170J nasce con cassa rotonda in oro giallo 18 carati del diametro di 39 mm con quadrante opalino argento e indici sottili applicati in oro giallo 18 carati e due numeri romani a ore 12 e ore 6. E se dopo il successo del primo cronografo Ref. 5170 del 2010 in oro giallo, successivamente Patek Philippe ha presentato le altrettanto accattivanti versioni in oro bianco e oro rosa ed in platino. Ora fra le grandi novità per il 2019 la manifattura Patek Philippe lancia a Baselworld questo modello emblematico e amato dai collezionisti, in una versione decisamente nuova: potremmo dire che è la volta di un nuovo classico - il Patek Philippe Ref. 5172 - con cassa in oro bianco completamente lucidata con pulsanti guillochè rotondi e anse a tre livelli. Il suo sottile tocco vintage è sottolineato dal vetro zaffiro bombato che attraversa la lunetta.

The chronograph Ref. 5170J launched in 2010 is an emblematic model coveted by collectors, classic architecture for men endowed with a movement entirely developed and manufactured by Patek Philippe. A symbol for the haute horlogerie with the chronograph caliber CH 29-535 PS with column wheel, horizontal clutch and manual winding entirely designed and built in-house. A triumph of technique and aesthetics that exceeded the expectations of even the most demanding collectors. Tradition that meets innovation in the heart and maintains a classic allure. Its remarkable refinement and its essential style, are inspired by the same aesthetic criteria that allowed Patek Philippe to create in 1932 the legendary Calatrava - became the archetype of the round wristwatch for men. Ref. 5170J was created with a round case in 18-carat yellow gold with a diameter of 39 mm with a silver opal dial and thin hour-markers in 18-carat yellow gold and two Roman numerals at 12 and 6 o'clock. So the Patek Philippe, Ref. 5170 appeared successively in yellow, white and rose gold, and in platinum. The manufacture has now redesigned this emblematic model coveted by collectors, endowing it with a new one - the Patek Philippe Ref. 5172 - a new life for a classic icon, fully polished whitegold case with round guilloched pushers and three-tier lugs. Its subtle vintage touch is underscored by a cambered sapphire-crystal “box” glass extending across the bezel.

The dial is also sporting an all-new look with a blue background and contrasting whitegold applied Arabic numerals highlighted with a luminescent coating, white-gold baton-style hour and minute hands with pointed tips, also luminescent, a sandblasted central chronograph hand and a white, transfer-printed minute counter with its tachymeter scale - to which must be added the two railway-track scales encircling the small seconds and the chronograph’s 30-minute counter. All has been planned to ensure perfect legibility, whether in daylight or the dark. The caliber CH 29-535 PS chronograph movement is notable for combining traditional architecture (column wheel, horizontal clutch and manual winding) with six patented innovations.

The latter include optimized tooth profiles, improved adjustment of gear penetration, and self-adjusting reset hammers. It also boasts several technical features inspired by the same concern for functionality and performance, such as the instantaneous 30-minute counter. Its beauty and lavish finissage(including bridges with chamfered and polished edges and Geneva stripe decoration) may be admired through a sapphire-crystal case back. The new Ref. 5172G-001 in white gold is worn on a hand-stitched calfskin strap in a shade of navy blue to match the dial, with a white-gold fold-over clasp. It replaces the previous Ref. 5170P-001 in platinum. We could define the new 5172 as one of the greatest star of the 2019 Baselworld fair: a new icon for Patek Philippe's savoir faire and an unmissable must have.

Il calibro del movimento cronografico CH 29-535 PS si distingue per combinare l'architettura tradizionale - ruota a colonne, innesto orizzontale e carica manuale - con sei innovazioni brevettate. Fra cui i profili ottimizzati, regolazione migliorata della penetrazione degli ingranaggi e martelli di ripristino autoregolabili. Vanta anche diverse caratteristiche tecniche ispirate alla stessa attenzione per funzionalità e prestazioni, come il contatore istantaneo da 30 minuti. Da quando Automobili Pininfarina è stata annunciata a Roma nel 2018 in occasione del primo E-Prix ad aprile 2018. La Battista, così chiamata in onore del fondatore di Pininfarina SpA, Battista “Pinin” Farina, è un’hypercar rivoluzionaria con prestazioni impareggiabili basata su un concetto nuovo di lusso, design ed alte performance ma con una straordinaria attenzione all'impatto ambientale.

Questo è il lusso del futuro. Grazie alla struttura in fibra di carbonio e ai motori elettrici, Battista ha come obiettivo una potenza e una coppia rispettivamente di 1.900 CV e 2.300 Nm, un’accelerazione da 0 a 100 km/h in meno di due secondi e fino a 300 km/h in meno di 12 secondi.

Tutto questo con un’autonomia potenziale a zero emissioni pari a oltre 450 km, pertanto le alte prestazioni non vengono sminuite dal motore green. In questa prima fase il CEO Michael Perschke si è focalizzato, fra le sue priorità, sulla selezione dei migliori concessionari specializzati al mondo, allo scopo di sostenere le ambizioni di questo nuovo marchio del lusso.

This is luxury in the future. Thanks to the structure in carbon fiber and the electric motors, Battista’s objective is power and couple respectively of 1.900 CV and 2.300 Nm, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in less than two seconds and up to 300 km/h in less than 12 seconds. All of this with a potential autonomy with zero emissions equal to more than 450 km, therefore the high performance is not diminished by the green motor. In this initial phase, amonst the priorities, CEO Michael Perschke focused on selecting the best specialized dealers in the world, in order to sustain the ambitions for this new luxury brand.

Il sogno di suo nonno Battista è finalmente divenuto realtà, vedere il nome Pininfarina su una vettura dopo aver contraddistinto il design di centinaia di auto che hanno fatto storia: questo è di certo l'inizio di un nuovo capitolo vincente.

Built at the end of the 1800s in Renaissance Revival style, it was used as a convent and later acquired by the Ossani Family, and was finally transformed into a hotel at the end of the 70’s. The structure maintains its noble origins, even after two recent and exhaustive renovations, in 2008 and then in 2015. Upon their arrival, guests are immediately aware of being welcomed into a prestigious residence: the historic façade and the open spaces in the lobby, enriched by marble flooring and boiserie for the walls, an elegant and classic setting. All of Italy is valorized in the choice of raw materials and the dishes listed, with an eye towards Lazio, Campania and Toscany, where the chef hails from.

“Meat and fish are prepared in classic or innovative menus, served with professionalism and cordiality” writes the 2019 Michelin Guide. Guided by Executive Chef Andrea Migliaccio and assisted by Resident Chef Claudio Mengoni, one of the iconic dishes is piglet porchettato with scorzonera, shallots in port and rustic mustard, but there are many culinary delights prepared in the restaurant, all inspired by Mediterranean cooking. The Grill is an elegant bistrot that is especially welcoming in the winter, in front of the fireplace that lights and warms the room.

And after the red carpet the ritual photo-taking, an entertaining map for guests to discover the various parts of the Palazzo decked out in an unusual manner: the Senses Restaurant & Lounge Bar - the room with a contemporary design, with pillars in a classical style lit up by special lights and the important central fountain as the focal point - theater for the event for the musical talents of rock violinist Leida, Micolharp with harp arrangements and DJ Yaya. Protagonist here Executive Chef Simone Strano, who prepared live pasta dishes with wild vegetables, ravioli with orange veal and piacentino ennese cream, fresh egg pasta with tuna carbonara. The Infinity Room, transformed into a distinctive contemporary art gallery, displayed a selection of works from the Scart exhibition, made entirely of recycled waste products, to the notes of Re Tribe, a sound journey amidst electronics and world music. Here, the tastings varied with: eggs with creme caramel al parmigiano, mushrooms and truffles; rice all’amatriciana; arancino with ragù and peas; crostino with butter, ursino garlic and anchovies; fried pizza; panino and panella with lemon, parsley, oil and salt; smoked merluzzo with fondue of leeks and potatoes, a speciality from Radisson Collection Hotel Royal Mile Edinburgh.

In questi ambienti la degustazione varia con: uovo con creme caramel al parmigiano, funghi e tartufo; iris all’amatriciana; arancino con ragù e piselli; crostino al burro, aglio ursino e acciuga; pizza fritta; panino e panella con limone, prezzemolo, olio e sale; e crocchetta di merluzzo affumicato con fonduta di porro e patate, specialità del Radisson Collection Hotel Royal Mile Edinburgh.

L’atmosfera della Caschera Spa, è stata scaldata dalla musica del duo eclettico Alessio De Simone e Giorgio Rima e al body painter Leonardo Borgese: qui il tema della degustazione è stato il pesce con la sfera di gambero rosso con ricotta, crostino integrale, cappero e agrumi e il salmone cotto a freddo con erbe aromatiche sotto sale, salsa acida e crostino. Al piano nobile, invece, Vera Dragone e i Velvettoni Swing Orchestra, affascinante artista di burlesque sulla musica swing, assaggiando cannoli siciliani alla ricotta farciti a vista, zucchero filato, maritozzi con crema, nocciola e visciole. Un esempio illuminante in tal senso viene dalla storia della pasticceria Loison, che dal 1938 utilizza antiche ricette per celebrare in tavola le più importanti festività ed è a tutti gli effetti un’azienda all’avanguardia per tecnologie e strategie, un emblema d’internazionalizzazione di successo.

Dario Loison è un maestro unico, il re del panettone made in Italy, ma anche un vulcano di idee, di positività, energia ed autoironia. Al suo fianco l’eleganza e la classe indiscussa della designer Sonia Pilla, sua compagna anche di vita. Una coppia stellare che non smette mai di stupire. A shining example of this comes from the story of the Loison pastry shop, which since 1938 utilizes heirloom recipes to celebrate the most important festivities and to all effects it is a forward-thinking company based on technology and strategy, a symbol of successful internationalization.

Dario Loison is a unique maestro, the king of panettone made in Italy, but he is also a volcano of ideas, positive thinking and self-criticism. At his side the undisputed elegance and class of designer Sonia Pilla, his life companion as well. An amazing couple that never ceases to amaze. Per la primavera 2019 il mood si ispira al risveglio della natura ma anche ad un viaggio della designer Sonia Pilla al Museo Hermitage di San Pietroburgo e alle opere del maestro orafo Peter Carl Fabergé in un’esplosione e celebrazione della uova e delle loro magnetica perfezione.

Così dalle emozioni di Sonia alla ‘Carl Fabergé Memorial Rooms’ pathos ed essenza delle opere del maestro sono divenute protagoniste dell’edizione speciale che coniuga arte, storia e cultura alla migliore pasticceria. Ed già iconica e un must have questa spring limited edition: tutte da collezionare le scatole di latta divenute preziose, arricchite dalle uova Fabergè di ogni forma e colore. Poi meravigliose farfalle e fiori primaverili adornano eleganti bauletti, veri scrigni di romanticismo e dolcezze. Antiche cappelliere rivivono fra mughetti e tenui colori pastello.

Ma oltre allo stile e alla forma anche il contenuto è un’opera d’arte indiscussa. Antichi sapori e abbinamenti inconsueti esaltano profumi e colori dei migliori ingredienti e presidi slow food: pesca e nocciole IGP, mandarino tardivo di Ciaculli, amarena e cannella, cioccolato monorigine del Sud America, limoni di Sorrento, Amalfi e Siracusa, pistacchi di Bronte e vaniglia Mananara del Madagascar.

For spring 2019 the mood was inspired by the reawakening of nature but also by Sonia Pilla’s trip to the Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg and the works by master goldsmith Peter Carl Fabergé in an explosion of eggs and their magnetic perfection. Thus from Sonia’s emotions to the ‘Carl Fabergé Memorial Rooms’ pathos and essence of the maestro’s works became the protagonists of the special edition that combines art, history and heritage to the best in desserts. And this spring limited edition is already iconic and a must have: all the precious tin boxes should be collected, enriched with Fabergè eggs in all shapes and colors. And marvelous butterflies and spring flowers adorn elegant cases, true coffers of romanticism and sweets. Antique hatboxes come to life amidst lily of the valley and pastel colors. But aside from the style and shape the contents are an undisputed work of art.

HERMÈS BEHIND THE SCENES UNO SPECIALE INCONTRO CON GLI ARTIGIANI DI HERMES, UN'INCREDIBILE OPPORTUNITÀ, QUELLA DI POTER ASSISTERE ALLO STRAORDINARIO SAPER FARE DI QUESTI GRANDI MAESTRI.

Il Festival itinerante dei savoir-faire creato nel 2011, dopo 35 edizioni in giro per il mondo, tra il 2011 e il 2015, nato come il “Festival des métiers” e poi diventato “Hermès Dietro le Quinte” ha fatto tappa dall'8 al 16 marzo nella splendida cornice del Museo dell’Ara Pacis di Roma. In questa occasione, gli artigiani di dieci mestieri della maison parigina arrivano in città per incontrare il pubblico, mostrare e condividere il loro savoir-faire, la loro esperienza e la loro passione. In uno spazio di circa 1.000 m2, un percorso di dieci moduli dedicati ad ogni singolo savoir-faire ha consentito ai visitatori di scoprire il talento delle mani sapienti che trasformano la materia creando iconiche borse, selle, carré, cravatte, gioielli, orologi, guanti e porcellana delle collezioni Hermès.

Gli artigiani lavorando, hanno raccontato e risposto alle domande del pubblico, condividendo le tecniche di eccellenza proprie a tutti i métier Hermès.

HERMÈS BEHIND THE SCENES A special encounter with Hermès artisans, an incredible opportunity to see the extraordinary skills of these great masters.

The itinerant savoir-faire festival created in 2011, after 35 editions around the world, between 2011 and 2015, which began as the “Festival des métiers” and then became “Hermès Dietro le Quinte” stopped in Rome between March 8 and March 16 at the splendid Museo dell’Ara Pacis. For this occasion, artisans from the ten crafts utilized by the Parisian maison were in the city to meet with the public, demonstrate and share their savoirfaire, their experience and their passion. In a space of approximately 1,000 square meters, visitors see ten modules dedicated to each single savoir-faire and discover the talents in the skilled hands that transform materials, creating iconic bags, saddles, carré, ties, jewelry, watches, gloves and porcelain in the Hermès collections.

The artisans work, talk about what they do and answer questions from the public, sharing the techniques of all the métier Hermès.

Grazie alla realtà virtuale di un filmato a 360°, i visitatori hanno potuto inoltre scoprire i segreti dei maestri artigiani della cristalleria SaintLouis, maison fondata nel 1586 e acquisita da Hermès nel 1989. Dalla nascita di Hermès nel 1837, sei generazioni di artigiani intraprendenti e appassionati hanno contribuito alla diffusione dei suoi valori: un savoir-faire frutto del culto per i materiali migliori lavorati con eccellenza, dell’amore per gli oggetti belli creati per durare nel tempo e dello spirito di innovazione. Dal 2013 Hermès è guidata da Axel Dumas, CEO della Maison; Pierre-Alexis Dumas è il Direttore Artistico e Vice Presidente e Guillaume de Seynes è Vice Presidente e Direttore Generale dei siti di produzione. Tutti e tre appartengono alla sesta generazione della famiglia fondatrice della maison. Ad oggi Hermès conta 13.764 dipendenti mondo, più di 4.500 dei quali sono artigiani.

Un tesoro prezioso che va celebrato e raccontato. Per questo Hermès dieto le quinte è una celebrazione dell’artigianato davvero unica. Con questi incontri la Maison si propone di far comprendere il vero significato e 'valore' della parola “artigiano”.

Durante la mostra a Roma, infatti un ricco programma di incontri e tavole rotonde ha dato anche la possibilità al pubblico di approfondire tematiche legate all’innovazione e alla trasmissione dei savoir-faire, coinvolgendo in esclusivi percorsi esperienziali anche scuole di moda e costume oltre alla stampa internazionale.

Thanks to a virtual reality video, visitors discover the secrets of the master Sanit-Louis crystal artisans, founded in 1586 and acquired by Hermès in 1989. Since it was founded in 1837, six generations of enterprising and passionate Hermès artisans have contributed to spreading its values: a savoir-faire fruit of the cult for the best materials worked with excellence, of the love for beautiful objects created to last over time and of the spirit of innovation.

Since 2013 Hermès is managed by Axel Dumas, CEO; Pierre-Alexis Dumas is the artistic director and vice president while Guillaume de Seynes is vice president and managing director of the production sites. All three belong to the sixth generation of the founding family of the Maison. As of today Hermès employs 13,764 workers all over the world, more than 4,500 of whom are artisans.

A precious treasure to be celebrated and told. This is why Hermès behind the scenes is a truly unique celebration of craftmanship.

Through these encounters the Maison wants to make people aware of the true meaning and value of the word “artisan”.

The profound significance of ancient gestures, particular to each craft, needs to be told to those who appreciate such things but especially to youngsters, to the talents and creators of the future, so that they do not forget traditions. During the exhibition in Rome, in fact, a number of encounters and round tables are scheduled, also giving the public the opportunity to learn more about subjects linked to innovation and the transmission of savoir-faire, offering exclusive experiences also to fashion schools as well as the international press.
