PERFORMANCE INSTRUCTIONS GENERAL NOTES • This piece is written using a combination of meter and proportional notation. Each metric unit is approximately 60bpm. • Coincidences between parts are indicated using red dotted arrows and a box above the part indicating instrumentation. There is room for temporal freedom outside of these coincidences left to the discretion of the performers. • This piece employs just intonation. At times, for tuning purposes, the fundamental and/or the partial numbers are provided (i.e. [A, 16:12], where the 16th and the 12th partials are played simultaneously by one performer). • When justly tuned intervals are not explicitly notated, then it can be assumed that perfect intonation is not essential. Therefore, it is possible and likely that the notated material will not always correspond with the sounding on a 1:1 ratio, which is a welcome result. • There are no ties or slurs notated with arcs in this piece. All tones are connected by glissandi. The only exceptions for ties/slurs are when notes are contained within parentheses, either after a sustain or connected to a glissando.
