what is so special about a hotel with a zero-energy balance? It means that in the course of a year our hotel creates the same amount of energy that we require to run it. For this, we only use renewable energy sources like solar and photovoltaic panels and ground water heat pumps.
At
hotel Solaris, we do not just use renewable energy sources. We also water the lavender and roses in our beautiful hotel garden and flush our bathrooms exclusively with water from our well. Our hotel sign generates its own electricity and we even provide two power stations for our guests to plug in and recharge their electric cars – free of charge.
At
eco-friendly Hotel Solaris, environmental awareness has top priority. Green technology in the garden hotel in Malinska Depending on the weather, our 130 m² of solar panels heat up enough hot water to supply the entire hotel with renewable energy.
Water
from our well is used to flush the toilets and to tend our unique hotel garden and lavender roof.
During
summer you are welcome to start your day with a hearty and healthy breakfast in the garden, surrounded by fragrant lavender and rose bushes.

Its distinctive smell and lilac color, the gentle sound of humming bees and the enchanting presence of butterflies create a unique and natural atmosphere in the heart of Malinska. When the lavender blossoms in June, our guests can marvel at the lavender roof in full bloom, dotted with red roses.
Some hotel rooms even have a direct view of the meadow of lavender and flowers. Every year, we harvest and dry the carefully-tended lavender from the hotel garden so that our guests can take come home in the form of bath essences, sachets and other lavender gifts. Did you know that the word lavender has its origin in the Latin word “lavare”, meaning “to wash” and its name refers to its prevalent historical use in bath essences and oils?
