Big News from MAS!

In addition to our American Program and 18 Diploma Program (DP), the Modern American School is now officially authorized to offer both the 18 Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the 18 Middle Years Programme (MVP)!

This milestone honors the vision of our founders, Mr. Taysier Zamel and Mrs. Omaya Zamel, and celebrates the dedication of our entire MAS community-leaders, educators, learners, and families.

To kick off our KG inquiry journey, we hosted a warrn and en11,a11,inl1, Open ttouse where tarnilies got to know our teachers and enjoyed tun, space-therned actiVities to11,ether. t,earners docurnented their e1<periences with photos, received a space balloon as a keepsake, and shared retreshrnents with their tarni\ies-rnakin11, it a truly rnernorable start to the year.

The first day for KG I learners was filled with excitement.

Children were warmly welcomed and engaged in fun activities that helped them explore their new environment. They interacted with peers and teachers, showing enthusiasm as they began their learning journey through play.

KGl learners showed that they are responsible and open-minded as they worked with their teachers to create a classroom agreement. They demonstrated their commitment by placing their handprints on it as a symbol of their promise, connecting their learning to the specified concept of Responsibility through shared action.

KG2 Inquiry

KG2 Trip to Haya Cultural Center

Our KG2 learners visited Haya Cultural Center as part of their unit of inquiry, Who We Are, which focuses on relationships.

During the visit, they watched a play that emphasized the importance of building and 15 maintaining healthy relationships in our lives.

In accordance with the Modern American School's vision of fostering excellence, \ innovation, and international mindedness, and its mission to empower educators and learners, three weeks of induction were dedicated to teachers' professional development, focusing on enhancing instructional practices and strengthening t(j!,aching competencies.

Mr. Taysier and Mrs. Omaya Al Zamel graciously hosted an oriental breakfast for teachers, fostering unity and appreciation within the school community.

We conducted a Beyond Classroom orientationfor -parents to introduce the Modern American School's learning management system. Parents were guided on . . accessmg pages, openmg exercises, and following what their children are covering daily. The session emphasized ways to support learners' agency, enabling parents to actively engage in and reinforce their children's learning Journey.
