moving art: life is moving

description: taking words and poetry to visual and emotions. With this project I translated the feelings of life, it’s movement, it’s stability, it’s chaos. The visual represents a moving CD, which is life, the words of the poem is implemented upon feelings of a fleeting life.

concept: ‘Yesterday / Today is an attempt trying to understand the concept of time. If today is the same as yesterday, or different than it. Playing with word and type to alter and deviate some words in question of time. Questions slowness as well as speed of time.

overview: I tried translating the idea of time, it’s slowness and speed by moving artworks sometimes slowly, sometimes more rapid. Moving images end up moving our emotions towards time.

and the people who ask, who want to know things for themselves. This is the thought process and emotional state of how one could feel or think while trying to ask questions. Sometimes slow, sometimes rapid. The music and visual played accordingly to the emotional and psychological state of a human being.

product design: SHANTA

intention: People often carry their backpacks wherever they go. The existing bags in the market do not faciliate a proper walking posture and they often are designed to carry the entire weight at the bottom of the bag. This causes people to have back problems in general, and athletes especially. For that, Shanta is designed to prevent such health problems.

description: The bag is designed to equally distribute the weight of everything an athelete might want to carry. Thus the logo follows this idea, the three shapes of Shanta is taken from the backpack vision. It’s functionality and simplicity. The represented shapes are also deisgned in a way to give a sense of movement, an atheletic backpack.

intention: a ode to my mother, whom always documented my years of growth. Thus I find myself missing a part of myself, a part of a memory. Although there are documentation, a part is still empty.

research: there are alot of missing memories. but why do we remember ones and forget others? This is an ongoing research process of missing films, memories, people and places.

A missing Film, A missing Memory:

Life is unfinished. Design and art should reflect that and i don’t think it does in our culture. There’s certain structure in art or design that one has to fulfill in order to fill what design and art really is. And if you don’t hit all these certain points the audience somehow says that something is wrong or something is missing. And in that constant looking for what’s missing, we are not seeing whats really there. For me personally it is in the looking that we are missing. So my symbols, my memory and my reflections are thus unfinished. Like a government with no president, an unfinished script with enough destruction and an unfinished longing for an end.

art residency: minimal reisen, berlin germany

intention: a part from being in a world of constantly seeking the silver lining in everything, one is sometimes fed up with some thoughts. “in betweens”, is a voice in which there is no overlapping whatsoever. Thus, this book invites the reader to have a minimalist approach in thinking.

please: read the book with no thought in between.

description: in betweens is a book of hard statement. where there is no grey area. only black and white. The philosophical question arising is as follows: if parts have functions within a whole and if that whole has a function as a part of a greater whole and so on, is there in infinite series or is there a whole which is of intrinsic value? Thereby do not draw value from a whole greater than itself. available: in English+German.

solo exhibition: time is passing

concept: Time is Passing (alwaqt yamdi) 2021, is an outlet to the realization of self, time and dimension. The nature of humanity is rooted somewhere, to me, this might be found in time. The essence of time remains in constant flux as we manoeuvre and manage to be present. Time if present, past and future, is inevitably passing. There is always motion attached to time, and it is a fundamental element of human awareness. Our consciousness, our ability to perceive the world around us and, ultimately, our very sense of self are shaped upon our perception of time in loop connecting memories of the past, present sensations and expectations about the future. Yet, the way we perceive time is widely debated. This is mine.

description: The unquestionable passage of time is what I am questioning. Some of the artworks just represent the statement as is, nothing added. Others show its immediate passage, it’s repetition, it’s reoccurrence, it’s dauntlessness. The takeaway thus, is left to the receiver and their own relationship with time. includes: 12+ original artworks

platform: water utility

intention: An ongoing Online platform/project “Water Utility”, where I sell artworks, and prints. It came into existence to quench my thirst for creativity. It is also a non-profit project as its funds was redirected towards those affected by the Beirut August 2020 Port explosion. It was my way in trying to help people carry on and find a source of hope in an affected country.

description: I deeply relate to water as a life element. I understand the importance and essence of water to achieve our wellbeing and elevated human experience. Just like the water, we must possess humility, harmony, and openness because only calmness breeds clarity. Thus it is a reccurent theme throughout my work.

publication: experimental ways of seeing

concept: ‘Experimental Ways of Seeing’ has little to do with actual seeing and a lot to do with it’s response- this book is a compilation of things I constantly question, ask of myself and others. Playing with type and words to highlight fragile passing moments. Another intention of this booklet was to document experience and experiment at the same time. The book aims to add a different layer of appreciation and perspective to it’s reader.

description: As a creator and thinker, I think of life of past, present and future. The booklet is inspired by John Berger’s ‘Ways of Seeing’. I realize things and these things end up changing my life. I think of things, and as an outlet to express; the book was born. Most times thoughts come to me rather than the opposite.

final year project: the way

sea

brief: we were asked to research our chosen topic for our senior project. After that, we translated our research findings and insights into publications, cardsand personas.

description: his is the process that eventually led to the making of my senior project, titled “The Way I Sea”.My research tackled psycological and over all well being of a human being when adopting the sea’s attributes into their life.

This work and research was essential to finally come up with a design manual that can be beneficial for overall human well being.
