We’ve been part of the Island community for more than 110 years.

For over a century, local residents have turned to Martha’s Vineyard Bank for more than just financial services — as a trusted ally, advisor, and partner in life’s most important decisions, they’ve come to rely on us for the kind of friendly, personal service you only find close to home.

Our Founders created a bank built on offering neighborly customer service, convenient locations, and competitively priced financial solutions that make life easier — a promise we have kept, generation after generation. From families to corporations, business banking to passbook savings, insurance to financial planning, we partner with our clients to make their financial lives easy.

In everything we do, our core values of respect, integrity, inclusion, and hard work continue to earn us local and national awards and — much more importantly — the loyalty of generations of families and businesses.

We have been awarded “Best Bank” for “Best of the Vineyard” for 19 years.

We’re an anchor of financial strength and stability.

The world has drastically changed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and Martha’s Vineyard Bank has kept fluidity and flexibility at all levels of our organization. Our customers inspire us and it is our high level of customer involvement that makes our visions and ideas stand out from the competition. We have the framework and the passion to lead the banking industry with confidence as we walk together into the future.

Our home may be an island, but our expertise is boundless.

As our seafaring ancestors knew, most successful ventures begin with teamwork. At Martha’s Vineyard Investment Advisors, our approach is the same. First is the relationship we build with you: understanding where you are and where you want to go, how fast you want to get there, and how much risk you want to take along the way. From there, our team of experienced planners and advisors pool their expertise to build a plan crafted to help you keep moving toward your financial goals — and keep you on course, whatever the times and tides may bring.

Our utmost priority is to serve you — to listen to you, and to partner with you to achieve your financial goals.

Whether you’re just starting out, adjusting to big changes like retirement, or looking to pass on a legacy, our team will be your guide. Our goal is to be alongside throughout your journey, simplifying the complexities of markets, investing, and managing wealth, and giving you the tools to create a better life for yourself and your family, now and for generations to come.

Customer service drives our state-of-the-art technology.

At Martha’s Vineyard Bank, we believe in the power of technology to create a quality personal experience. We invest in technology that supports relationships and enhances every transaction, whether it’s giving you greater speed, ease, or security in your financial life. For us, the goal is always to give you that “local bank feeling,” wherever you are.

Our core values guide the way we do business every day at Martha’s Vineyard Bank. We define our business as ‘making our customers’ financial lives easier’ — and we continually grow and adapt to meet their needs in the changing world around us.

Investing in tools that empower success.

The ability to embrace technology and to strengthen connections is the key to success in today’s world. At Martha’s Vineyard Bank, we never stop looking for new and better ways to expand our capacity to improve your experience.

Over the past year, we implemented a number of initiatives designed to help our team build stronger relationships with our customers through superior, personal service and convenience. We integrated state-of-the-art data and communications systems to allow us to work better and respond more quickly to customers’ needs.

We improved our online banking system to make it easier to open accounts, make transactions, and sign documents. And we added popular banking apps like Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, and Zelle®, to make managing your money easier and more user-friendly.

As a Bank built to make our customers’ financial lives easier, these are the kinds of investments that are invaluable in the best of times — and life-saving during a crisis like the pandemic. With our improved online application process, supported by our dedicated and focused team, we were able to process millions of dollars in Small Business Administration Paycheck Protection Program (SBA PPP) loans to over 700 local businesses in just a matter of weeks — proof that with a dedicated team, the right tools and solid, local support, even the worst of times can be made better.

Banking local makes a difference.

Of all the reasons to bank locally, one of the best is that your money is directly invested back into your own community. We believe in the importance of giving back and sharing our resources locally in a variety of ways that make life better for everyone: volunteering, scholarships and sponsorships, community investments, and Martha’s Vineyard Bank Charitable Foundation grants (which support a wide range of non-profits that directly impact the quality of life in our communities).

From healthcare, education, and the arts to social programs serving seniors, low income families, and our most vulnerable neighbors, Martha’s Vineyard Bank and Martha’s Vineyard Bank Charitable Foundation are proud to contribute hundreds of hours of volunteer service and hundreds of thousands of dollars each year to the causes that matter most, right here at home.
