Who we are Cliper Ceramics is a company in the sector of tiles with a factory which produces both wall and floor tiles. The company resulted from the acquisition in 2007 by EMACOR ACE * (a group of enterprises in the trading sector of building materials). In 2008, the new brand Cliper was registered and developed 10 new collections of products whose presentation was held in Spain, on CEVISAMA 2008. Being Cliper one of the newest factories on the national scene, it was built according to the best practices and with a completely new layout (straight line) that allows an optimized operation and logistics. Given that the logistics became, since the foundation of the company, one of its main “flags”, Cliper intends to make this vector an area of excellence, by which large investments have been made in order to optimize the entire functioning. By virtue of this strategy, it has been possible to minimize the manpower, gaining efficiency and flexibility in production lines and allowing the reduction of unit cost. Despite the recessive economic environment of recent years, the company’s performance has been extremely positive, especially regarding the conquest of foreign markets. Today Cliper is present in markets as diverse as France, Holland, Germany, Spain, Greece, the PALOP, UK, Finland, Luxembourg, Ireland and Sweden. In 2011, the company was distinguished by the quality of their performance and risk profile as SME (Small and Medium Enterprise) Leader.



Products

JEWELS

The brand Cliper distinguishes itself by an innovative nature, both in terms of aesthetic and technical, placing it in a segment of higher added value. According to European standard EN 14411:2006 - Ceramic Tiles and given the technical characteristics and suitability for use - porosity, grain type, color, surface and application - the ceramic products of Cliper fall under the category of porcelain stoneware tiles. At this time, Cliper has 30 sets of different products available in 46 formats, with five finishes possible, allowing a large number of combinations available to their customers. When necessary and justified the company also develops exclusive and personalized products. The products traded by Cliper are characterized by the fulfillment of all technical requirements specific to their application in floors, exteriors, work surfaces, places with contact with food, swimming pools and industrial installations, including chemical industry. Of the new products that the company has placed on the market, it stands out the ranges: Argia, Five Jewels, Oceanus, Poseidon, Stone, Drymo, Opis, Deck Gold and SPIO.

* EMACOR ACE Founded on February 10, 1987, with the main aim of bringing together some of the best companies of construction materials at the national level, it has evolved into the ACE format on April 14, 2005. Over time, Emacor has been able to consolidate its position in the market, distinguishing itself as a consortium with high national representativeness, bringing together about 10% of the total turnover of the sector, combined with each member occupying a leadership position at regional level. On the other hand, Emacor distinguishes itself by the high longevity and notoriety that the group reached, which are the results of a clear statement of values and ethics, trust and friendship between the grouped, but also good image and credibility granted in the industry and, particularly, with suppliers. Going beyond the concept of central purchasing, market developments, as well as synergy with new partners, has made the development of an own brand a necessity. The introduction of the tag Emacor is made on January 8, 2007. The demand for new products and solutions is beyond the boundaries of the national market and the company began a process of imports. The group increasingly extends its area of operation and, in 2008, buys a ceramic industry which follows on the brand Cliper Ceramics, SA. The year 2010 marks another turn. Looking for new strategic goals and future business opportunities, the group enlisted the consulting services of the Portuguese Society of Innovation. The strategic plan that has resulted is currently being implemented. Today, Emacor retains its vitality and dynamic business, based on the sum of their forces combined.
