Your Moment Awaits
Welcome To Marshall... Welcome To Marshall...
Moments that Last A Lifetime

Nestled along the Ohio Riverbanks of central Appalachia, Marshall University has flourished since 1837.
Our city, Huntington, West Virginia, was crowned the "Jewel City” by steamboat workers who fell in love with the community when it was a booming port town. Today, the city’s passion lives on, making it unsurprising Marshall University has students from more than 50 countries.
While our foundation started with a teaching college, Marshall has grown to offer dozens of programs constantly evolving to ensure your degree will hold real-world value. Our close community ties mean more opportunity to learn hands-on, outside the classroom and our R2 High Research Activity Carnegie Classification
allows undergraduates to engage in real-world research while still in college.
To ease the stress college can bring, Marshall offers over 200 organized teams and clubs, as well as NCAA Division 1 sports with rich histories. Huntington’s nearby downtown district also offers good food, music, and other entertainment.
From your initial interaction to your final moments, our dedicated staff is here to guide you toward your next “Marshall Moment.” Our team of recruiters and college coordinators will help you navigate the complexities of starting your collegiate journey, ensuring you make the right decisions during this pivotal time in your life.
Your Marshall Moment awaits…
"Since arriving on campus, I’ve gained leadership experience and made many meaningful connections. I’m incredibly thankful to be at Marshall."
- Samuel Simpson
