BREXIT? COME TO MILAN
La Brexit può rivelarsi un'opportunità per le città business oriented come Milano. È questo in sintesi il messaggio recentemente lanciato dal Ministro dell'Economia, Pier Carlo Padoan, che durante una visita istituzionale nel capoluogo lombardo ha annunciato la creazione di una "task force fra Comune di Milano, Governo, Consob, Bankitalia, Agenzia delle Entrate e Guardia di finanza per fornire informazioni e assistenza alle società, organizzazioni e multinazionali che volessero ricollocarsi a Milano". Il tema come detto prende spunto dalla Brexit, ma non solo. "Guardiamo non solo all'Europa, ma anche agli Stati Uniti", ha affermato Padoan, parlando dell'obiettivo di portare a Milano l'Ema (Agenzia del farmaco europea), ma anche altre istituzioni e aziende private. La task force istituzionale si occuperà anche di realizzare un road show per promuovere Milano: "Andremo a Londra e New York - ha spiegato il sindaco Giuseppe Sala in una conferenza stampa congiunta con il Ministro dell'Economia perché le partite sono calde in questo momento. Presenteremo certamente il dossier di candidatura per Ema, spiegheremo i benefici fiscali per le istituzioni e i privati che vengono nel nostro Paese e creeremo delle condizioni particolari per gli impiegati e i dirigenti Ema che si trasferiscono". Il dossier della candidatura EMA sarà presentato a marzo mentre l'Ente dovrebbe prendere una decisione in estate, prima delle vacanze. Sala ha anche sottolineato che le banche internazionali, molte delle quali stanno considerando cosa fare dopo la Brexit, si stanno rendendo conto che "le attuali condizioni sulla tassazione, ma non solo, sono obiettivamente diverse dal passato e possono essere attrattive", anche in Italia e in particolare nella sua città a maggiore vocazione europea sede peraltro dell’Associazione di Categoria Confindustria Marmomacchine.
Brexit could be an opportunity for business-oriented cities like Milan.This, in brief, is the message recently launched by Minister of the Economy Pier Carlo Padoan, who during an official visit to the Lombard capital announced creation of a "task force composed of the City of Milan, the government, Consob, Bankitalia,the internal revenue service and treasury police to provide information and assistance to companies, organisations and multinationals interested in moving to Milan. As stated, the idea was sparked by Brexit, but not only. "We are looking not only at Europe but also the United States", said Padoan, speaking of the aim to bring the EMA (European Medicines Agency) to Milan but also other organisations and private companies. The official task force will also organise a road show to promote Milan: "We will go to London and New York", explained Milan's mayor, Giuseppe Sala, in a joint press conference with the Minister of the Economy, "because the iron is hot right now. We will certainly present the dossier for the EMA candidacy, explain the tax benefits for the organisations and private companies moving to Italy, and create special conditions for the EMA employees and executives coming here". The EMA candidacy dossier will be presented in March and the agency should make its decision this summer, before vacation time. "We are putting a lot of energy into the EMA match", Mayor Sala said, "but right now, after Brexit, a lot of people are looking at Italy". Sala also emphasised that international banks, many of which are considering what to do post-Brexit, are realising that "current tax conditions, but also other factors, are objectively different than in the past and can be attractive" even in Italy and especially in its most European city.
