Cinnamon, clove, freshly crushed vanilla pods; British company Pollyfields bottled the essence of Christmas. In Milan, I fell in love with Fornasetti's hand-poured candles, in Paris, I found a Xmas tree advent calendar, filled with divine chocolates from La Maison Du Chocolat.

My favorite Xmas recipe: Russian yuletide LONDON

Ingredients: 2 cinnamon sticks for 4 cups ~ 2-3 slices of ginger per cup ~ 1-2 tsp honey per cup

RUSSIA

Recipe: Boil some water (e.g. 400ml), add cinnamon sticks (e.g. 2-3).

Simmer for 15-20 mins. Add extra water (e.g. 100-200ml) and ginger to your taste. Simmer for some time. Don’t cook ginger

Being the epitome of Gothic architecture, the Parisian Lady of the 14th century combines a sense of the divine with stunning graphic lines. Graceful arches and elegant bows are her trademarks. An aspiration to Heaven is her belief. I took the Dame’s subtle play of lines and put it right on top of the cups. Framing a similar gracious and elegant décolleté. I can still feel the satisfaction of finally seeing a female lead (Gena Rowland) portrayed as strong and dominant, instead of dependent and obedient. For this collection I linked Gloria’s strength to the concept of power suits. In my design I translated this into powerful pinstripe patterns and macho suspender straps.
