SPODSBJERG – A SEAPORT FACING EAST WITH A FERRY TO LOLLAND Spodsbjerg arose as a Berth and a small fishing hamlet in the 1400s. Nowadays, tourism, the ferrying to Lolland and fishing constitutes the main foundation of the town’s economy. Spodsbjerg is, with its’ outstretched beaches, a sought out bathing resort.

Spodsbjerg city Midways through the city by the main road lies a well assorted Dagli’Brugs (coop), and if you are hungry, there is a hot dog stand and a fishmonger with a café on the harbour and a café at the Camping Site. In the authentic seaside hotel, wholesome, good Danish food is served and it is possible to stay overnight here. The Camping Site also offers huts for rent and Bed & Breakfast. South of the city lies a lovely summer cottage area and another Camping Site facing the child-friendly beach “Drejet”. In Spodsbjerg you can rent bicycles, scooters and dinghies.

Angling in a class by itself At the main road lies a large angler shop where, among other things, fishing licenses are sold. In the port the rental ships lie side by side, when they aren’t at sea with anglers, and haul in cod, flatfish, mackerel etc. from the finest fish water. If you are not up for sailing out to sea, you can catch fish from the coastline. There is also a put & take lake Spodsbjerg Strand
