ARE YOU REALLY

?

SAFE WHILE SHOPPING By Joseph Russell Corporate Communications S.E.S.L Limited

Here are some safety tips you can exercise whilst shopping: Always lock your door upon exiting and entering your vehicle and when approaching your vehicle, always have your keys in hand to avoid lingering.

As far as practical, do not travel alone and at all times, ensure that your loved ones are informed of your whereabouts. Avoid cellphone use as much as possible while shopping. This creates a distraction and keeps you from effectively monitoring your surroundings thereby making you a possible target. Avoid moving around with excessive cash – only walk with what you need and pay with cheques and/or credit cards as far as possible. After payment transactions, ensure that you properly secure your cash and/or credit card before exiting the store. Do not leave items and/or packages visible in your car windows. Keep them out of sight in the trunk or under a covered rear cargo area.

Before approaching your vehicle, pay attention to your surroundings and be sure to check the back seat and around the vehicle before entering.

Holiday Security Tips FROM OUR CHIEF SECURITY OFFICER

Be Aware of Surroundings - When parking, do so in busy and well lit areas, and do not venture out alone. A group of persons walking will always deter bandits as compared to one single person. Be Careful What You Post Online - It’s always exciting to share holiday memories, but avoid posting too much information about your travel plans on social media. The wrong people may find out you are away from home and take advantage of your absence. Let There be Light - Installing automatic sensor lights at the front of your house is a great way to deter burglars. Hide Your Giftboxes - That brand new flat-screen TV you just bought or got for Christmas? The box it came in will attract the attention of thieves just as much as the item itself. Conceal and dispose of boxes carefully. Watch your belongings - It might be ‘Silly Season’ , but remember to drink responsibly and keep an eye on your belongings when you are out at social events and limit having cash in your possession. Limit Jewellery - Limit wearing valuable jewellery while out shopping during the Christmas season. Jewellery will attract unwanted attention form persons of ill intent. If possible wear no jewellery when leaving to do shopping for the season.

CYBER SECURITY ONLINE SAFETY TALK COURTESY

SAFEPRO SOLUTIONS LIMITED

Never trust alarming messages. Most reputable companies will not request personally identifiable information or account details, via email. This includes your bank, insurance company, and any company you do business with. If you ever receive an email asking for any type of account information, immediately delete it and then call the company to confirm that your account is fine. Cyber criminals are always on the lookout to steal card information and commit fraud, especially since credit cards are a very popular payment method worldwide. Here are some tips to protect yourself:

Phishing is a type of social engineering attack often used to steal user data, including login credentials and credit card numbers. It occurs when an attacker, masquerading as a trusted entity, dupes a victim into opening an email, instant message, or text message. You can avoid phishing by heeding to the following: When you get an alert from your bank or other major institution, never click the link in the email. Instead, open your browser window and type the address directly into the URL field so you can make sure the site is real.

Review your credit card statements regularly and ensure that no fraudulent activity has occurred. Dispute fraudulent transactions immediately. Mental Health Care

The Role We Can Play

Each and every one of us is part of a community. It is our human nature to care for one another, as we, in turn, seek the social and emotional support of others. The disruptive effects of COVID-19 provide us all with an opportunity. An opportunity to check on each other, to call and video-chat, to be mindful and sensitive to the unique mental health needs of those we care for. Our anxiety and fears should be acknowledged and not be ignored, but better understood and addressed by individuals, communities, and governments. It is essential that we address the public mental health challenges currently:

THE TRIANNUAL | PAGE 7

By distributing timely, understandable and reliable information from the youngest to the older members of our society. By providing psychological support to front-line workers and bereaved families. By continuing care and treatment of people with cognitive, mental and psychosocial disabilities. By protecting human rights, especially of those whose rights are often overlooked or violated, including migrants and refugees, prisoners, residents in other closed settings such as mental hospitals or social care institutions, and people with disabilities.

The Real Meaning Of Christmas

Celebrating a birth or a birthday is always a joyful time in everyone’s life and so it is the same with the celebration of the Birth of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is even more special as the whole world is preparing to celebrate this most auspicious occasion, by decorating, illuminating their homes with lights, putting up their creches, the Christmas trees, preparing the traditional Christmas meals and beverages, etc. It is extremely important to remember that with all the fervor of the Yuletide Season that we do not forget the real meaning of Christmas is To remember the sick. To remember the poor. To remember the homeless. To remember the downtrodden. To remember those who have lost their loved ones. To remember to care. To remember to share. To remember to love everyday. Most importantly we must remember The Christ in Christmas.

May you receive the Blessings of Peace, Joy, Love and Good Health, as you celebrate this Joyous and Holy Birth.
