The GPS-supported cruise control not only detects the route course with uphill and downhill gradients up to three kilometres in advance, but also recognises roundabouts and towns. It automatically adjusts the driving gear and speed in line with a fuel-optimised driving style. Furthermore, the system activates the MAN EfficientRoll ® function as soon as it detects that more fuel can be saved.

That’s why we have redesigned the cockpit to take as much of the strain off the drivers as possible and allow them to control the innovative assistance and comfort functions intuitively, comfortably and safely.
The new cockpit has a 12-inch digital display and can be conveniently adapted to a wide range of requirements. The multifunction steering wheel, for example, is adjustable in height and tilt and ensures a perfectly ergonomic workplace.
The numerous assistance and comfort functions can be controlled easily and without distraction using the innovative MAN SmartSelect control element via the 7-inch media display. With its turn-and-push function, MAN SmartSelect reduces the need to take your eyes off the road while operating the infotainment and navigation menus to a minimum.
In addition, all controls are arranged in such a way that they do not distract the driver’s attention from the traffic. The display and operating levels are arranged separately from each other and can be reached comfortably from a seated position. At the wheel of the MAN Lion’s Coach, drivers experience pure driving pleasure.

Numerous innovative assistance systems in the MAN Lion’s Coach ensure that drivers and passengers arrive safely at their destination.
◾ Electric parking brake
To the left of the driver’s seat is the switch for the electric parking brake. This can be operated at any time, but also comes into play automatically when the vehicle is parked and releases itself when the vehicle is started.
◾ Emergency Brake Assist (EBA)
The advanced Emergency Brake Assist* detects emergency braking situations and warns the driver in good time. If the drivers do not react, emergency braking is initiated and the emergency stopping signal (ESS) is activated in addition to the brake lights. Cyclists and pedestrians are also reliably detected. The hazard warning lights signal the emergency situation to other road users and thus reduce the risk of a rear-end collision.
◾ MAN AttentionGuard
The MAN AttentionGuard* helps minimise the risk of accidents by detecting the first signs of lack of concentration and overtiredness at an early stage and warning the driver by means of a visual and acoustic signal.
◾ MAN OptiView
The MAN OptiView* digital mirror replacement system makes the blind spot visible when turning, changing lanes and when manoeuvring by means of two cameras on each side of the vehicle.
◾ Lane Change Assist
This system* warns drivers of impending collisions with other vehicles when changing lanes. The acoustic and visual warning is given as soon as the system detects a parallel moving object or one approaching at high speed from behind.
◾ MAN Turn Assist
If your MAN Lion’s Coach is driving through towns, the radar-based, active warning system Turn Assist* defuses critical situations at intersections. This system actively warns the driver of dangerous situations and impending collisions visually as well as acoustically using a warning signal if other road users are in the vicinity of the vehicle sides or directly in front of the vehicle.
◾ Lane Return Assist
If the vehicle threatens to leave the specified lane, Lane Return Assist* warns the driver by means of visual and haptic or acoustic signals. In addition, the system automatically and carefully steers the vehicle back into the lane.
◾ Traffic Jam Assist
In traffic jam situations, Traffic Jam Assist** steers behind a stopped vehicle, brakes to a standstill and starts up again by itself. This avoids a close approach and reduces the risk of collision.
◾ MAN High Beam Assist
MAN High Beam Assist* adjusts the vehicle’s low beam and high beam to the brightness of day and night and ensures that other road users are not inadvertently dazzled. At the same time, it increases the visibility of one’s own vehicle and reduces strain on the drivers, who can concentrate better on the traffic as a result.
