The Gospel of Mark Chapter 3:20-35 3:20 “And He came home, and the multitude gathered again, to such an extent that they could not even eat a meal” The home that He came to was probably a home in Capernaum, maybe even the home of Peter. Once again He is being pressed by the crowds. He area around the home is so packed with people wanting to be healed or demanding His attention, and Jesus the disciples have no time, room or privacy to even have meal. 3:21 “And when His own people heard of this, they went out to take custody of Him; for they were saying, ‘He has lost His senses’” “His own people” are the people who show up later in the chapter, His mother and brothers (3:32). “Heard of this”: We are not told where the family is presenting residing, they may have still been in Nazareth. “To take custody”: This same term is used of arresting someone (6:17; 12:12). The family was prepared to use force to remove Jesus from the crowds. “He has lost His senses”: They were afraid that all of Jesus’ work was affecting Him mentally.
