Employment Information

We think our team members are happier and have more to contribute if they know what they can expect from our Company and what our Company expects from them. In the preceding sections, we introduced you to our Company’s history, mission, values and philosophy. We expect you to incorporate that information into your day-to-day job performance, striving to meet our Company’s values in everything you do.

The remainder of this Guide will familiarize you with the privileges, benefits and responsibilities of being a MarineMax Team Member. Please understand that this Guide can only highlight and summarize our Company’s policies and practices. For detailed information, you can talk to your manager or a member of the Human Resources team.

MarineMax strives to provide a work environment where our Team Members continually grow and learn, enjoy their jobs and successfully contribute to our mission.

This section discusses different aspects regarding employment information.

The Employment Relationship

You are given the opportunity to enjoy a challenging career with the leader in the marine retail industry. In return, you are expected to provide your full effort and talent in contributing to the current and future success of MarineMax.

This Resource Guide does not constitute an employment agreement or contract for a specific period of time – all employment with MarineMax is on an at-will basis. This means that both you and MarineMax have the right to end the employment relationship at any time, with or without notice and with or without cause.

No Team Member or representative of MarineMax has the right or authority to enter into an employment contract for a specific period of time or make verbal commitments regarding your employment with MarineMax other than the Board of Directors, and then only in writing.

The Company’s Commitment to You

To succeed as a Company, MarineMax has to create a workplace in which the best candidates are selected to join MarineMax and, once employed, given the opportunity to show our customers how to: “Maximize Their Enjoyment on the Water.” . To meet this goal, we are committed to providing each of you a workplace featuring the following characteristics:

Equal Employment Opportunity “Open Door” Policy

Equal Employment Opportunity

MarineMax is dedicated to the idea that giving all people equal consideration in employment decisions is simply good business.

In our increasingly diverse society, MarineMax will not succeed if we base employment decisions on arbitrary reasons such as race, color, religion, gender, disability, age, national origin, citizenship, ancestry, marital, military or veteran status or any other protected status under applicable law. Simply put, we want to hire, keep, and promote the best person for every job we have.

MarineMax provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all Team Members and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, marital status, amnesty, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws. MarineMax complies with applicable state and local laws governing non- discrimination in employment in every location in which the Company has facilities. This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including, but not limited to, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfers, and leaves of absence, compensation and training.

MarineMax expressly prohibits any form of unlawful Team Member harassment based on race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability or veteran status. Improper interference with the ability of MarineMax Team Members to perform their expected job duties is absolutely not tolerated.

If you have ideas on areas we can improve, let your manager or the Team Support Human Resources Department know.

Open Door Policy

MarineMax has adopted an Open Door Policy for all team members. This means that every manager’s door is open to every team member. The purpose of our open door policy is to encourage open communication, feedback, and discussion about any matter of importance to a team member. Our open door policy means that team members are free to talk with any manager at any time.

Itroductory Period

Your first 60-days of employment with MarineMax are a critical time. It is at this time that MarineMax has an opportunity to determine whether you demonstrate the ability and commitment to showing our customers how we are “United by Water” and be successful in our organization. This is also your opportunity to determine if MarineMax provides the best “fit” for your skills and your needs. Once you successfully complete your Introductory Period, you will become a regular Team Member and may be eligible for all standard MarineMax Team Member benefits. (Please see Compensation and Benefits section for detailed eligibility information.) However, this does not mean you are guaranteed employment for any specified length of time.

Employment Verification

All offers of employment are contingent on verification of your right to work in the United States, as required by the Department of Homeland Security Immigration Reform & Control Act of 1986. Upon receiving a conditional offer of employment, you will be asked to provide original documents verifying your right to work and to sign a verification form (Form I-9) required by federal law. Proper documentation must be provided within three days following a Team Member’s start date. Failure to provide the required documents will result in the offer of employment being revoked.
