STUART MACONIE – JARROW; ROAD TO THE DEEP SOUTH Sunday 12 November In October 2016, writers and broadcaster Stuart Maconie walked 300 miles from Jarrow to London retracing the famous Jarrow Crusade 80 years on, through a divided, complex country that echoes 1936 in many ways.

Tuesday 7 – Saturday 11 November Masque Productions are proud to present Victoria Wood’s hilarious musical version of her award-winning spoof, Acorn Antiques. The story sees the lives, loves and macaroon adventures of staff in an antiques shop in the fictional town of Manchesterford. When shop after shop on the high street closes, will Miss Babs and Miss Berta keep the business open? Will Mr. Clifford recover from his amnesia and remember who he’s engaged to? Most importantly, will Mrs Overall be able to keep hold of her tea-tray while she tap dances?

18

This all-singing, all-dancing, all-macarooned spectacular is hilarious, naughty, ridiculous and crammed full of missed cues, fumbled entrances and Marigold gloves.

MARTIN CARTHY Friday 17 November

Saturday 18 November

Sunday 19 November

Martin Carthy is one of folk music’s greatest innovators, one of its best loved and most enthusiastic figures. His skill, stage presence and natural charm have won him many admirers.

Songs from all eras of David Bowie’s celebrated career are performed to perfection in this show.…

One of Tchaikovsky’s most famous compositions is brought to life by Ballet Theatre UK for Christmas 2017.

From Rebel Rebel to China Girl, Let’s Dance to Young Americans. Ashes to Ashes to Life On Mars, Heroes to Ziggy Stardust, the list goes on and on…

The Nutcracker ballet recounts the adventures of a young girl, Clara, the night before Christmas. On her journey she sees magical snowflakes, dancing dolls and a Christmas tree that reaches the sky. She and The Nutcracker travel together to the Land of the Sweets where the Sugar Plum Fairy is reunited with her prince - and where the magic of Christmas is born.

Martin is a ballad singer, a ground-breaking acoustic and electric-guitarist and an authoritative interpreter of newly composed material. His settings of traditional songs with guitar have influenced a generation of artists, including Bob Dylan and Paul Simon.

20

Martin was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards in 2014.

Including big screen audio visual footage and various costume changes, this show will take you on a Fantastic Voyage of Bowie hits. Bowie Starman is not only the ultimate tribute to a legend, but also a highly entertaining, emotional and thought provoking musical celebration.
