Redevelopment Project
DISSOVLING AND RETAINING
DISSOLVING THE CURRENT URBAN SYSTEM OF C.P. COMPLETELY AND ONLY RETAINING ALL THE CURRENT BUILT FORM.
TO THINK OF THE WHOLE OF THE C.P. AS ONE BUILDING/STRUCTURE, MOVING AWAY FROM THE PREVIOUS SENSE OF BLOCKING AND MOVING TOWARDS A SENSE OF UNITY.
THE STRUCTURE
THE STRUCTURE IS A SMART FRAMEWORK ENABLES SPATIAL FLEXIBILITY THAT ALLOWS THE ARCHITECTURE TO DEFINE THE URBAN SYSTEM
- PLACE THE BUILDINGS
- DEFINE THE VOIDS
- INTRODUCE THE LEVELS
- DEFINE THE URBAN STRUCTURE
STRUCTURE : LEVEL AND GRID
WITH THE SPECIFIC NATURE OF THE PROGRAMME, ‘THE LEVEL’ WAS INTRODUCED TO LIFT THE FORMAL NATURE OF THE PROGRAMME ON THE UPPER FLOOR WHILE ALLOWING THE INFORMAL PART OF IT TO GROW ON THE LOWER FOOR.
THE DIFFERNCE WAS CREATED TO ALLOW THE CONTRASTING NATURES
TO GROW MORE MATURELY AND EXTENSIVELY RATHER THAN THE TWO CANCELLING EACH OTHER OUT.
‘THE GRID’ WAS INTRODUCED FOR THE FOLLOWING RAESONS:
- AS REPRESENTATION LINES
- AS MEDIATOR OF SPACE
- AS CONSTRUCTION GRID
- ALLOWING FLEXIBILITY TO URBAN SYSTEM
THE STRUCTURE SETS TO INCORPORATE THE DIFFERING NATURE OF THE LEVELS BY CONTRASTING AS WELL AS COMPLEMENTING BOTH THE CONTEXTS.
THIS FRAMED CONSTRUCTION OFFERS FLEXIBILITY FOR PROGRAMMING SPACES IN AN INNOVATIVE WAY WHILE RETAINING THE BUILDING’S CHARACTER AND COHERENCE. THE GRID FACILITATES DIVERSE FUNCTIONS, BOTH AFTER COMPLETION AND IN THE FUTURE.
THE FRAMEWORK CAN BE FILLED IN BY ADDING FLOORS AND WALLS. HOWEVER, THEIR ABSENCE HAS A MORE POWERFUL EFFECT: OPENINGS, OUTDOOR SPACES AND VOIDS ADD LIVELINESS FOR A HIGH QUALITY OF LIVING, WORKING AND LEISURE IN THE COMPLEX.

THE RIDGE SURROUNDING THE SITE STRETCHES FROM SOUTH-EAST TO SOUTH-WEST. THE CONCEPT OF A FOREST WAS IMPLIED TO MATCH THE SITE WITH ITS MOST PROMINENT FEATURE. INSTEAD OF ADDING TO THE URBAN CONCRETE JUNGLE WE WANTED TO DO THE OPPOSITE.

Access Points
-While Grand Entrances tend to give importance to its surroundings, it also steals all the focus, and hence makes the users feel that the rest of the site is less special than the area near the entrance.
-Thus just like in a forest where there are multiple and small entrances, we have provided no grand entrances to the site. Hence, making each part of the site equally important and efficient.
AFTER PUTTING OFFSET ACC. TO NORM. SPLIT THE SITE ACC. TO THE MINIMUM DISTANCE BETWEEN THE TWO BUS STOPS AROUND THE SITE.
A DROP OFF IS CREATED ON THE SIDE OF THE SITE WHICH IS CONNECTED TO THE MAIN OUTER RING ROAD.
AFTER TAKING THE PARAMETER, THE PINK ARROW ARE FOR THE CIRCULATION OF THE PEOPLE INSIDE THE SITE. THE REMAINING BLUE SHAPED ARE THE PODIUM BUILDING.
AFTER SPLITING, WE GOT THE ACESS POINT IN THE SITE FOR THE BUS USERS. NOW, FEW ACCESS POINT WERE CREATED FOR THE RESIDENTS, SO THEY HAVE THE OPTION TO REACH EASILY FROM INSIDE THE SITE. 1 3 4 5 2

HOUSING TOWER
-Canopy
-We wanted to create the same feeling of being surrounding by trees just like in a forest.
-We did this by creating three towers and placing them alternately in an opposite configuration.
-The three towers create the feeling of being surrounded by trees across the site.
-This Distribution of towers provide a sense of uniformity across the site.

ABOUT THE DESIGN
UNIVERSITY OF DESIGNS
The Campus offers various courses in the field of Architecture, Design and Fashion. According to the Campus requirement, University created two Departments namely “University School of Architecture and Planning” and “University School of Fashion Designing and Fine Arts”.
The Concept of Campus is to place the basic elements which are required in the university along the main spine. Library being the source of Knowledge is placed in the origin, near and is equidistanct from both department buildings so that it will be easy for the students and the teachers to access it. Outside vistors can access the library and adminstration block without any inconvenience as the library is placed near to the Main Gate of the Campus. This will ensure that outside visitors will be restricted to move inside the other buildings of the Campus.

All School blocks in this campus have same building typology Design. Building is divided into two equal blocks so the people can move free around the building without entering the building and there are countyards in those parts for better circulation of air and light through the building. From the first floor, these blocks connected and make a small interaction or exhibition open spaces for the students.

Field Placement Project | Prof. Hally ElKony WALKABILITY PROJECT
This study aims to determine the aspects, environment, and condition of the street are seen by individuals as memorable, engaging, and safe. In order to gather information for this poll, we asked a number of students to write about a street they found memorable and the details that made that recollection stand out.
In this study, we must examine the surveys and respond to the pre-made Excel forms in accordance with those surveys. The conclusion of these Excel sheets will next address how to build a roadway that most people find memorable.
Some pertinent questions that we must address by reading each person's survey are as follows.
Several of the situations I polled, with the responses shown in the table.
Learnings
• It is important to construct a roadway next to a lake or other natural feature. If it is expertly planned, the presence of that natural element along with well-thought-out design elevates the experience for visitors.
• Sometimes the actions of street sellers positively impact the quality of life in any metropolitan area. It provides visitors to the neighbourhood with the ease of shopping for goods without having to travel far inside stores or eateries.
• if a public plaza has a space set aside just for entertainers. It provides guests with a satisfying experience.
• Maintaining pavements and adding suitable street furniture and vegetation is crucial.
• The spaces ought to promote social interaction and be hospitable.
