PARKING AND PEDESTRIAN ACCESSIBILITY One of the important factors affecting ridership is Parking. The facility of park and ride should be provided but the pricing should be proper so that not many people park their automobile. Green Park metro station does not have a proper parking dedicated to the metro station but the parking in front of Yusuf Sarai Market caters to some parking of metro station too. The Market parking is in walkable distance to the metro station The pricing of the parking is cheap if compared to some TOD areas. Pricing are as follows : 1hr- Rs.20/ 2hr- Rs.40/ 3hr- Rs.60/ increasing Rs. 20 for every hour. Green Park main market also has its own parking with same pricing policy. These Parking are formal parking by SDMC and all the parking in the catchment area are surface parking. There is no formal parking for the Non motorized transport (NMTs) and other three wheelers but they are parked along the foothpath near the markets and metro station causing congestion intraffic sometimes. Pedestrians are most affected by the congestion like these and thus pedestrian accessibility to the metro station and around the metro station is very important to increase ridership of a metro station. metro station caters to the pedestrians very well. There are well connected footpaths to the metro station and from the metro station to Yusuf Sarai Market and Balbir saxena Marg.
