Kindergarten

For our final school trip this school year, Reception switched things up from our usual park visit and went to the Nielson Hays Library. And what a wonderful morning we had spent at the library! Teachers and library staff alike were very impressed by how incredibly well behaved and responsible our students were during the school trip. Reception friends were very curious and enjoyed making observations about the library and asked interesting questions. We enjoyed snack, a story, a tour and a scavenger hunt before returning to school. During the tour we saw some old features in the library building such as special air vents to keep humidity out of the books, and a secret “spooky” stairwell that gives access to the windows. We also enjoyed noting the differences in the architecture compared to newer buildings such as the condos and houses that we live in.
