Last Sunday, Christmas in the Hororata Domain was an enjoyable event, as Malvern came together to celebrate the festive season. There was an amazing line up of music, with local performers giving their time to entertain the crowd, including Darfield Primary School Choir, Malvern School of Music Ukulele Group, Selwyn Community Choir, Noel Nielsen, the Rolleston Brass Band, Duncan Chisholm and the Bad Revival Job Band. The Hororata Fire Brigade slip ‘n’ slide was huge fun for numerous children. Funding from the Selwyn District Council and Hororata Community Trust provided free activities like balloon twisting, Pedalmania and face painting. “This is such a fun event for our wider community, we loved seeing everyone smiling and relaxing. A huge thanks goes to the performers, they were all wonderful. As always, we need to thank the volunteers who gave their time to make this event happen, especially Karen Meares,” commented Hororata Community Trust Executive Officer Cindy Driscoll.

Rose Carey from Darfield was invited by the Rolleston Brass Band for a impromptu singalong.
