End of Year Dance Awards
On Sunday, December 4th TM Dance World held their end of year awards at the lovely Rose Wood Stables, in Sheffield. The afternoon was a semi-formal event for the dancers and included certificates, trophies, medals, roses and a bunch of proud parents and teachers! Sixty five students were awarded their examination marks from both the Asia Pacific Dance Association (APDA) and Acrobatic Arts. The students work hard towards their annual examinations in Jazz, Contemporary, Musical Theatre and Hip Hop, and they have eagerly been awaiting their results since the end of Term 3. Sitting dance exams is a rewarding, exciting and encouraging experience for the dancers, and they build technique and confidence while inspiring the dancers to reach for higher goals. “We were super excited to present nineteen students with distinction marks for obtaining over 96 percent in APDA, or over 130 points in Acrobatic Arts. Along with this, there were numerous more honours and honourable marks to be proud of,” commented TM Dance World Director, Tara Marshall. “A special mention goes to Georgie Prosser, who obtained 100 percent in her Level 7 Contemporary exam, and 99.5 percent in her Intermediate 2 Jazz exam. These marks should see Georgie placed for a top overall mark with APDA, which will be announced in January. Caitlin Smith who won the Overall Excellence in Dance for 2022.
“The second part of our presentation was our 2022 awards. These awards are chosen from dancers throughout the whole school (aged from 3 - 18 years). Congratulations to all our 2022 award winners! A special mention to this year's top awards.
