Funding Released

As a Committee of Selwyn District Council, the Westview Special Fund Committee has the responsibility to administer a fund that was established through the sale of land in Darfield. The fourth round of applications were recently completed with the Committee making final decisions on successful projects. The Committee is pleased to announce that it allocated a little over $112,000.00 in funding across ten successful projects. The projects which received funding are set out below and shows the diversity of applications received and considered. Some of the projects had previously received funding. They all demonstrated a benefit to the people of Darfield in relation to social, economic, cultural and or environmental aspects. Eleven applications were received of which one was declined as they did not fully meet the criteria set by the Committee. The Committee again expressed its thanks to everyone who applied and said they were pleasantly surprised at the number and quality of applications received. Committee Chair, Councillor Bob Mugford said, “there will be a further round of applications to the Westview Special Fund which will be advertised for in early 2023. The balance of the fund is just over $300k”.
