SPRING & SNOWDROPS The heritage garden at Terrace Station has evolved over the years into a less formal country garden from its original Victorian design. Sir John Hall, an early landowner, is remembered for his role as a parliamentary advocate for the Votes for Women Campaign and a descendant still lives there today. Terrace Station is holding its first Spring Open Day this Sunday, August 7th, from 11am till 3pm. Snowdrops transform the woodlands and gardens this
month, followed by other spring bulbs and woodland plants from September to November. There are many massive ancient trees in the Big Walkway, including sequoias and oaks. Acer maples, linden limes, holm oaks and cedars can be seen in the homestead gardens. The renovated summer house, the Hutch, displays historic gardening and farming tools, along with some 19th century domestic items, some of which cause lively debate as to their original uses.
