DARFIELD COLLISION CENTRE A couple of months ago, Will and Em Tucker took over the ownership of Darfield Collision Centre from Carl Dunshea and Mel Blackburn. Will and Em had recently moved from town and wanted to work and live in the area, as they liked the community feeling. The pair have four young daughters, aged 4, 2 and 7 week old twins. Em (previously a vet nurse) has family based in Hororata, and they are both looking forward to getting to know the wider community. Will has been in the vehicle industry for twelve years, qualifying as a panel beater in 2013, began estimating in 2017 and started managing a workshop in 2019. He is heavily into cars and has a special
interest in chassis repairs and restoration. They own a classic VW Beetle and an older, heavily modified VW Golf. “Things have been going well since we took over and it’s business as usual for now, with some minor improvements such as a coffee machine in the reception area for customers to use while they wait,” commented Will. “The team here aims to provide quality repairs to the local area, as well as the greater Selwyn community. “We are approved for all major insurers as a repairer, including State, AMI, NZI and FMG. “There are free loan cars available for customers to use in the Canterbury area, meaning clients can stay mobile, even if they work in town,” Will
