Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment Bach Brandenburg Concertos 2-6 Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos present one of music’s great riddles. Their history reads like the script for classic adventure caper: we don’t know why Bach gifted them as a set to the Margrave of Brandenburg or exactly what he did with them; they were then ‘lost’ in the library of a Princess for around a century before being rediscovered and published in 1850; and the manuscript was nearly lost for ever during World War I when the train carrying it to Berlin was blown up…

The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment returns to Malvern following their memorable sell-out concert of Beethoven symphonies in January 2020. Wed 6th Nov

'NEVER LET ME GO NEVER QUITE LETS YOU OUT OF ITS GRIP'

Kazuo Ishiguro’s international best-selling novel arrives on stage in this world premiere of Suzanne Heathcote’s gripping new adaptation.

What if you discovered your whole reason for being was not about your life but about making someone else’s possible? Your dreams, your desires, your love for another, all of them irrelevant in a world that values only what you give, without question or condition, to someone you’ve never met and will never know.

Memory and reality collide in this stunning new staging that challenges us to think about what it means to be human. What it means to have hope and heart — to love and to lose.

‘THIS TRANSPLANT OF ISHIGURO’S BOOK IS ENTIRELY JUSTIFIABLE AND SUCCESSFUL’ The Guardian

The ELO Show – The World’s Greatest tribute to Jeff Lynne and E.L.O are back on the road in 2024 with a stunning new stage production, featuring a band of amazing musicians complimented by a female string section and playing hit after hit from ELO’s vast back catalogue.

After touring and selling out venues all over the UK and Europe, this show gets bigger every year, now with a dazzling light and laser show, 3D video screens modelled on ELO’s own touring show design and even a huge spaceship!

With beautiful harmonies from six singers, string section and world class band, this really is as close as you will get to the real thing. Fri 8th Nov 7.45pm £34.72

Romeo and Juliet

Critics’ Circle Awardwinning company, Ballet Cymru, present an extraordinary adaptation of Shakespeare’s masterpiece Romeo and Juliet.

Intense fighting, passionate duets and universal themes echo through dramatic and lyrical choreography. Exquisite costumes and extraordinary video projections create a world of danger and excitement where two young lovers are caught in an age-old feud. Romeo and Juliet features choreography from company Directors Darius James OBE and Amy Doughty, and costumes by Georg Meyer-Wiel who has created costumes for some of the world’s leading companies including Rambert Dance Company and Australian Dance Theatre.

But soft, what light through yonder window breaks? It is the east, and Juliet is the sun.

Music by
Sergei Prokofiev

The atmosphere at The Beauregard Private Hotel, Bournemouth, is marked by a blend of repressed emotions and post-war gentility. Each of the staff and guests has their own reason for seeking the solace of quiet anonymity, but trying to hide from the social and cultural change sweeping over the country is proving impossible.

Meanwhile, in the heart of the Midlands, the end of the school term brings to a climax the intrigues, deceptions and lies in the lives of its teachers. The ensuing implosion of classicist Andrew Crocker Harris’s career triggers the collapse of his marriage.

Britain is changing. Nothing will ever be the same again.

Terence Rattigan’s one act masterpieces Table Number Seven (from Separate Tables) and The Browning Version are paired for the first time, capturing one quietly momentous evening seventy years ago. Together, they confirm Rattigan as one of the great twentieth century chroniclers of the paradoxes of the human heart.

Directed by Olivier and UK Theatre Award winner James Dacre, an ensemble cast will perform both plays, led by Olivier Award winner Nathaniel Parker and BAFTA winner Dame Siân Phillips

Dickens’s most famous short story sold out in five days following its publication in 1843. It has never been out of print since and has been the subject of many film, stage and television adaptations. But poised between traditional beliefs, the threat of the unknown and the shock of the new world, an altogether darker fear is emerging. As a new shadow looms large over England, a small group of young men and women, lead by Professor Van Helsing, are plunged into an epic struggle for survival. Stretching from London, through provincial England, to the mountainous wastes of Transylvania, Bram Stoker’s timeless gothic thriller embodies the struggle to break taboos, resist temptation and stop the unknown outside becoming the enemy within. Adapted by Nick Lane, this brilliant, theatrical treatment of Bram Stoker’s adventure blends Victorian Gothic with the Contemporary, showcasing Blackeyed Theatre’s trademark ensemble performance style and featuring a haunting soundscape, powerful performances and innovative design for an exhilarating theatrical experience.

A smash hit in the West End and on Broadway, THE SHARK IS BROKEN celebrates movie history and peeks at the choppy waters behind Hollywood’s first blockbuster.

FADE IN: The open ocean, 1974. Filming is delayed… again. The lead actors - theatre veteran Robert Shaw and young Hollywood hotshots Richard Dreyfuss and Roy Scheider - are crammed into a too-small boat, entirely at the mercy of foul weather and a faulty mechanical co-star. Alcohol flows, egos collide, and tempers flare on a chaotic voyage that just might lead to cinematic magic… if it doesn’t sink them all.

Step aboard the Orca and into THE SHARK IS BROKEN, a “profound dive behind the scenes of the making of Jaws” (The Daily Telegraph, ★★★★). This Olivier Award-nominated new play is “hilariously brilliant and pure genius” raves the Sunday Express (★★★★★) and stars Ian Shaw (War Horse, Common) as his father, Robert Shaw. Short tempers. Short circuits. 95 minutes, no intermission.

“NO-ONE CAN TOUCH JONES WHEN HE HITS HIS STRIDE” The Guardian

This is not a musical. Milton Jones is tone deaf and has no sense of rhythm, but at least he doesn’t make a song and dance about it. He has more important things to discuss. Like giraffes…and there’s a bit about tomatoes.

You might know him from Mock the Week, Live at the Apollo or Radio 4. Or that time he stood for the Scottish National Party, fought a hard campaign, but in the end had to respect the wishes of the people of Cardiff.

A whole new show of daftness. You know it makes sense.

Following sell-out seasons in London and New York, the brandnew smash hit musical Cruel Intentions is coming to Malvern.

Based on the iconic film and inspired by Les Liaisons Dangereuses, it’s packed with ‘90s pop classics including the songs of Britney Spears, Boyz II Men, Christina Aguilera, TLC, R.E.M., Ace of Base, Natalie Imbruglia, The Verve, *NSYNC and many more!

Step siblings Sebastian Valmont and Kathryn Merteuil engage in a cruel bet: Kathryn goads Sebastian into attempting to seduce Annette Hargrove, the headmaster’s virtuous daughter.

Weaving a web of secrets and temptation, their crusade wreaks havoc on the students at their exclusive Manhattan high school. It’s not long before the duo become entangled in their own web of deception and unexpected romance, with explosive results…

The iconic movie set to the decade’s best songs is an irresistible combination and with over forty 4 and 5 star reviews, it’s the ultimate 90s night out.

“It’s built for us, isn’t it? The Spitfire. Built for women.”

New Year’s Eve, 1959.

Decades after answering the call, two women separated by the war meet again as the rain hammers down on the windows of The Spitfire pub.

As we hear their story, we’re transported back to a time when female pioneers defied expectations and soared through the skies.

Spitfire Girls is inspired by the extraordinary true stories of the women who dared to fly during WWII and the incredible bond that tied them together.

Funny and heart-warming, this is an untold story of strength, courage and loss. But above all else, hope.
