Touch Screen Cinema at Malvern Theatres
A Story For Your Visit
Malvern Theatres is where I will go to watch films with my family, friends or school.
I will enter through the front double doors on Grange Road
I will enter through 2 automatic double doors that open and close side to side.
I will be able to see and hear them open and close. They make a mechanical noise.
There will be a green carpet on the floor with specks of red, dark blue and light green. The carpet is very soft and my feet will sink into it slightly.
When I walk in...
When I walk in I will feel a bit warmer and I will be able to hear people talking.
On my left there will be the box office where I will see people sat behind desks who will be talking, answering phone calls and typing on their computer.
In front of me will be electronic posters which will show different upcoming productions.
On my right there will be a television where I will be able to hear and see videos.
When I walk in...
I will follow the leader of my group to the right where I can see the sign for Studio One and Cinema. I will be going to Studio One.
I can choose to go up the stairs or use the lift to go to floor 3 - Studio One
Going up... The Stairs
I will follow my group leader up the stairs. The stairs will go up towards the left until I reach the sign saying Studio One. As I go up the stairs I will walk past a Changing Places Toilet, an accessible toilet and a ladies toilet. I will meet my group at the top of the stairs and wait to be told to go into the studio.
Going up... The Lift
I will then be taken over to the lift by my group leader. Only a few people can go into the lift at a time so I might need to wait.
A member of my group will push the up arrow to call the lift. When we go inside, a member of my group will press the 3 button.
When I’m in the lift I will be able to hear it ‘talking’ it will say whether it will be going up or down and when the doors are opening or closing.
I might feel a bit strange when the lift starts moving, and it will make a bit of noise.
Before going into the studio I will wait with the other audience members by the big blue canvases. They have lots of names on them.
I will meet Autumn and Sarah who will invite me into the studio. Sarah will be leading the session.

Entering the Studio...
When I enter Studio One the flooring will change from soft carpet to smooth wooden floor. The temperature might change because it is a newer part of the building.
I will see a big projector screen on my right where I will be able to watch the film.
I will see lots of blue seats around the room that people use for theatre performances.
Entering the Studio...
There will be some soft cushions and some white mats that I could sit on to watch the film. I may need to share my seat with other people in my group.
The Film... May
The films I will be watching are all to do with Paper Play. There will be captions on screen if there are any speaking characters.
I can move around if I want to and the lights can stay on during the film.
Sarah might give me an object that I can explore during the film. She is very helpful and can show me ways I can use it. Sarah
At the end...
At the end of the film, I will say thankyou to Sarah and follow my group leader back down the stairs or the lift and exit the building onto Grange Road.
